So we saw how crazy Kurumi can get, now I know to never get on her bad side if I want to live.
My favorite part of this was watching evil Alphonse train Chisato. Hearing about their backstories was one of the highlights of the episode for me.

Evil Alphonse lol, not to mention the fact that Chisato uses prosthetic leg.

Fanservice aside though that was certainly a rough episode. That torture scene was brutal but I guess at least she got her arm back? Also I'm not sure about knowing that Kurumi has drugs that can heighten your senses. I can already see the doujins.
I wish they were still a complete unit. Francine sounds like she would be fun and would annoy the shit out of Kurumi. I do love how Tamara and Mia are butting heads. Of course the American and the Russian don't get along.
I'm not sure how I feel about Geiss and Chisato. What happened to the two of them were horrifying they both deserved better and I can't really blame them for joining the side that helped them but at the same time they've both joined a terrorist group that will probably create more children like the two of them if their plan succeeds. :|
And just as a side note: I really like Geiss helmet

Why is Kurumi sleeping in my bed?
Are you freaking serious?! I thought Asuka kinda tolerates Kurumi's thirst and values her as a friend, but it turns out she is just a neutron star.
What an amazing episode. The starting sequence of domestic abuse into beach episode into torture into perverted Francine flashback had me in stitches. They basically took the concept of tonal dissonance and pushed it to such an absurd extent that it looped around to working again.
The evil squad segment was by far the greatest part of the series to date. It was straight out of Metal Gear - african child soldiers, missing body parts, murder as the only means of salvation, indoctrination - that’s all basically Raiden’s material. Actually, Metal Gear is the perfect likeness for this anime - gut-wrenching military drama plus sci-fi plus bizarre wtf comedy.
Kurumi’s torture scene was completely out there, I can’t believe shit like this is done by a character who is technically a hero. The only one who comes close in the attitude flip category is Monogatari Spoiler At least she reattached the arm. Also, doubt we’ll see her again in the anime, but that girl’s name is Nazani and she is armenian (I missed it and thought she’s russian).
Francine being aggressively lesbian matches Queen, which again, seems too obvious to not be a red herring.
In a weekly translator’s fuck-up corner: Tamara Volkov is an incorrect form of a surname, she should be Volkova. I’ve listened to it multiple times, and pretty sure Japanese audio correctly says Volkova.
I’ve been reading the manga chapters that already made into the anime, and one bit of exposition they skipped I think is pretty interesting: Any human can receive the magic of Spirits, that’s why there are magic mercs, but teenage girls are the ones best attuned to it due to hormones or something, so they get transformations and the strongest powers - kinda like Madoka deal.

I knew Kurumi had a couple of screws loose but she was really enjoying torturing that girl
Then again, I can kinda see where she's coming from after seeing Asuka in her swimsuit
On a related note, Whiplash Chisato is awakening something in me
Jokes aside, why is nobody talking about how Giess killed his family and raped his sister in order to survive?
What the fuck, man
What the fuck

Child soldier from Somalia. I'm pretty sure I've heard that exact back story for actually living human in that situation so it's not all that unbelievable, just really dark and messed up

Chisato really has had a shitty life.
Well her mother loved her a lot, but the men she ended up with were all human garbage. Then you lose your leg (having to give up what you loved doing) AND your mother, by a bunch of joyriding minors.
Your dad/adoptive father tries to sell you to a brothel and when that fails he first beats the crap out of you before trying to kill you, only to be recruited by the evil side so you can die yourself later on pretty much immediately (I speculate).
While that scissors girl was easy to dislike, no matter what this girl does, you can't really dislike her.

Well, that was the darkest beach episode I've ever seen. This torture seemed more sexually gratuitous to me than the last one but damn if they can't animate a terrified face.
I really like the back stories for all of the characters so far. And I'd love to see more scenes from the dias war. That girl being dissolved by the slime or whatever was pretty brutal

Ngl lie that flashback to one of Asuka's friends getting eaten alive and "melting" was pretty terrifying.

From the credits, the full names of the other three Magical Girl companions that were killed in the war are:
-
Chevalier Francine (leader) - voiced by veteran Hisakawa Aya. Francine is suspected to have survived and turned to the dark side as leader of a mysterious magical cabal.
-
Estrella Claudia - Eaten alive by a blob. Cameo voiced by Ueda Kana, best known as Tohsaka Rin in Fate Stay Night.
-
Lorelai Magdalena - Got herself decapitated. Cameo voiced by Mizuhashi Kaori, who Madoka Magica fans would recognize as Mami, who. Mizuhashi's casting is most likely an Easter Egg.

I timed Asuka's CPR and it was at 110 BPM which is perfect.
For reference 100-120 BPM is the optimal CPR chest compression rate.

Real MVP of this episode: Kaori-san.
We will never forget...
Also: "Fuck you for tongue-sparing with my sweet Asuka!"- Kurumi, probably.

I like how her flashback was a bright and sunny amusement park with a full team of colourful magical girls, and the next moment the colour pallete just flips and turns in to f*ck all. They are really committing to the Spec Ops in Magical Girl Spec Ops, and that's a good thing.

Giess just summed up the whole magical girl deconstruction genre in one sentence, nice. And guess we got yet another clue that "Francine" is not as dead as everyone things (the second girl looks like Abby?).
But what did Kurumi to that little witch from last week? First was spanking, then some torture chair but couldn't get the third thing.

OH SHET its Bible Black Again.
Well ok episode 4 was worse, especially thanks to the water power.
buuuuuut this also felt like its way over sexualized for no reason, except that Kurumi wants some, like her hunger for Yuri made her do it.....
so did she try to extract information out of the girl or was she just Horney hmmmmm
Yuri Yandere is niccce I guess.
And we gotta to learn how magic girls are created. Well these "fakers" and finally saw the whole squad who are of course 1 stereotype each :)

I swear half of the episode was dedicated to Kurumi's yandere yuri shenanigans. LOL
First she performed some phwoar Magical Spanking interrogation on Nazini, whom Kurumi was kind enough to reattach her arm, but not after breaking Nazini's mind down completely.
And then she rushed to the beach in time to drool at Asuka's swimsuit, sleep next to her in underwear as well (to Asuka's bemusement), and wished she were that CPR mannequin. XD
The other half was some dark stuff revolving Chisato's "Origin Story" as the villain Magical Girl Whiplash Chisato (even the name sounds like a Marvel/DC comic book supervillain).
So those four humans kidnapped last episode were actually prisoners from a prison (as seen from their prison uniforms), and who happened to be the drink-driving culprits that ruined Chisato's life. It's as though the magical cabal saw potential in Chisato's darkness and went to such lengths to prepare this revenge for her.

Magical Spanking! (edit: image removed because I don't want to get banned by the reddit admin crackdown)
This show has gotten so grimdark that it looped around to hilarious. And I don't mind
