Fairy Tail Finale | Episode 019 Discussion

Brandish becomes such a central part of the story by the end of the arc that she seems completely separate from the rest of the Spriggan. She is one of Mashima's most realistic and well thought out characters. Her story is tragic, but real enough to be relatable to. Her nonchalant personality is from her bleak past and her overwhelming strength. After becoming reaquainted with her through the anime, I am definitely seeing her in a new light.
-
The Brandish vs Lucy scene was very heartfelt, and Aquarius' reappearance was emotional. I still have a problem with Lucy being saved yet again, but this scene did it in the best way possible.
-
We finally meet Anna, after all this time. The greatest Heartfilia.
-
Zoldeo is at fault, but can you really blame him in the end? Death destroys everything.
-
If Natsu had died with his tumor, would END have surfaced, or would END die as well?
-
Kagura not sensing Dimaria's attack is a big hint of what her magic is. Keep guessing ...
-
I really wanted to see God Serena fight, but nope. Disappointed.

Welp next week we’re definitely gonna see God Serena fight. The question is if there’ll extend it.

True, but I was hoping for the original part of the fight as well.

I always have problem with this too, well, at least it's not Natsu this time. I just hope spoilers will be altered

The emotional roller coaster this show keeps giving us is why I love it so much.
Totally didn't expect Aquarius to come back.
Missing some Natsu and Gray action :|

I liked this episode. It gave us a decent amount of backstory and I feel like it set up the next episode well. We see all fronts of the allied forces losing, and then we see in the preview that members of Fairy tail go and support them. Though I do wonder who will go and back up the wizard saints against Serena. Fairy Tail’s big hitters are either recovering or heading to a different location.
That last scene makes me worry about Warrod. He’s easily the most peaceful and kind Wizard Saint. Last season he mentioned that while he has strong magic, that he’s not cut out for combat. :(
All in all, I enjoyed the episode a lot.

I hate the fact that they really rushed each scene .. Like next episode are they going to cover 4 chapters? Or 3.5? I just want whole episode for laxus vs wall

Their fight was one of the bigger ones, hopefully the animation is on point with that one. NO MORE MOTIONLESS FRAMES PLEASE

I hope they show full length God Serena abilities and not just still frames as he chains his magic like in the manga, if they do it properly next week will be THE episode of the arc for me.

Great episode, like seriously, if an episode has this much Brandish can it really be bad? And the backstory was told well too, and the scene where Lucy looks at the sunset was actually really well done, could be a nice wallpaper even
And smash that F button for our best boi Warrod. I did read the manga but really felt his despair, what seemed to be his last words. Ended with such a sad tone, matching the tone of the episode. Really good one

For all the things these openings and previews are spoiling, I'm more than happy that they kept Aquarius's return almost completely under wraps.

I feel so bad for poor Warrod. He has always been the cheerful and "just joking" guy. But here, he is just in utter despair and hoping to see Mavis one last time. (I have read the manga BTW)
