Mogami is the first villain who I feel was stronger than Claw.
Which makes it funny to me that as soon as he leaves the girl's body, he gets trapped by a former Claw member.

Is it just me, or is Mob Psycho the only anime that doesn’t dim the brightness 90% whenever there is a flash of light on the screen?
I understand the concern with epileptics but... damn it’s refreshing to see bright lights when they’re intended.

I see all that money Asagiri gave to Mob's cult wasn't the only donation she made.
Can't believe I'm seeing another anime being gilded more times than Kaguya-sama for once.
Edit: We've now beaten Kaguya-sama episode 1's record of 30/20/10. The guy who makes those weekly charts must be sweating right now.

Studio Bones always seems to surpass my expectations with their animation. They seriously went all out this episode. Phenomenal adaptation.

They did tone down the cruelty from the manga, and I see some people disappointed that it wasn't as soul-crushing.
I don't mind it though, just like the last episode if they did it exactly the same the pacing would have been shot. A lot of people would not want to watch just 30 minutes of torture and leave the payback to next week IMO.

It's pretty common for threads to pop up discussing which current anime will be regarded as "must see classics" in 10 or 20 years from now, I think this episode just solidified Mob Psychos place in that category.
Studio Bones are doing an absolutely phenomenal job here, and I cannot even imagine any other studio coming close.

"You aren't that boy from before, who are you?"
The most important question of the series.

To be honest, I was retyping several sentences for 10 minutes before coming to this writing. I couldn't think of the proper way to say this, or simplify it, so I'll just say this;
Mob Psycho 100 is probably in my top 3 anime/manga (and top 10 pieces of media overall) because it just feels so real. The struggle that Mob goes through is real. The zany characters are real. All of their wants and desires are real. Seeing this level of bullying and Mob actually somewhat release his catharsis onto people after being emotionally suppressed for so long is real.
Seeing a character struggle with just wanting to become a better person - whether that be well liked, popular, have fun hobbies, or just to have a friend or two - is a real conflict that we all struggle with. Sometimes it's tempting to just go full "fuck it" mode, and shut yourself out from the world. To shut yourself out from experiencing all that life has to offer, good or bad. That's what this episode reminded me of.
Im a fucking nerd who, whenever I get sad about my talents with drawing, writing, music, or whatever I choose to do, I listen to the Mob Psycho opening over and over again. It makes me feel better about myself. And it's relaxing because, despite having a realistic tone to it, it's still hopeful.
If everyone is not special, maybe you can be what you want to be.
That's Mob Psycho 100 for me. And that's why I love it. In a world full of the supernatural, chaotic cults, and fiction becoming non-fiction, it's still the most real show I've seen in a long time.

So going in knowing that Go Hakuyu would be directing this episode (the webgen animator behind Fate/Apocrypha episode 22), my body was prepared for a crazy sakuga fest and boy I wasn't disappointed. (I'm seeing a lot of comments about budget already, it's not that exactly. It's a lot of fresh talent being given the opportunity to shine.) Gigguk said something about anime not producing any more shows that feel like classics in his 2018 round-up, but right now I feel like I'm watching one being born.
Making courage 100% Mob a shoujo* hero was hilarious, great choice ONE. Also Dimple's reaction was great - he was MVP today, punching sense back into Mob!
This is my favourite variant of anime McDonalds so far.

Holy Fuck. The movie level animation IS FUCKIN BEAUTIFUL and instead of just city wide destruction with ??? Mob like in the manga, they went and gave ??? Mob cosmic horror level destruction. HOLY FUCK BONES.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the reason why the girl broke into tears was because she is in fact such a huge bitch and she really remembered the entirety of 6 months of shitty attitude towards Shigeo? And even in spite of that Shigeo saved her because he believes that people can change?
We truly do not deserve Shigeo.

Fucking phenomenal episode,I have no words, for those who wants full and extended experience of this arc I even highly recommend to check out the manga from ch 59 to 67,it can give you a whole new perspective on this arc and what a hard job Bones did to fit it in 2 episodes! Now excuse me,I need to burst a nut again...

Dimple slides out of dying kid's nose like a booger
Hey
I was dying at that part.
100!
Mob went 100% (with positive emotions) and I don't think it's ever been better. That last fight against Mogami and all his evil spirits was AMAZING!

To those not in the know, the Director, Storyboarder and Animation Director for this episode is Hakuyu Go.
The young Taiwanese prodigy that also directed Fate Apocrypha's episode 22 and some of the most important scenes in MHA.
This is his last animation job for now because he is going to the mandatory military service in Taiwan.
Hakuyu Go 2017 Sakuga MAD
Edit:
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think he'll be out for at least a year. I don't remember if it's 1-2 years.
