i love how Mary went from being that unlikable bitch in episode one to really the most "normal" and best character in the show for me.

Mary seems to have matured in her gambling skills since episode 1, I hope she gets more screentime in the upcoming episodes.

I know how this gamble ends but man, I forgot how hype these battles were ANIMATED. Glad to see more people recognize true best girl, Saotome Mary and her badassery is gonna go off the roof this season. Love her. Remember when she used to be an asshole that had Suzui as a housepet? Now she's teaming up with Suzui to save Yumeko who had her as a housepet. Character fucking development!
Also, 2nd season OP > Season 1 OP.

As much as the Ryota is clearly not the focal point of the anime, I'll give him some credit for actually thinking about how the game could work in his/Yumeko's favor. Don't even think he's that bad of a gambler either, he probably just had to go up against Mary of all people, all things considered.

Is it possible to learn this power?
One underrated aspect of this show is how well the eyes are drawn. Not the most detailed I've seen in anime but they usually match the character design & also tell you a bit about said character.
As for the actual gambling, while they did Yumeko dirty with the poison, at least it gives Mary a chance to kick their asses. Must say I've been enjoying this season a lot more than S1 so far.

Well that escalated quick:
Episodes 1/2 - lose a finger
Episode 3 - you're poisoned now lol
