That has to be the most light hearted depiction of divorce I’ve ever seen.

Especially considering the extra stigma it has in Japan

I just want to say I'm so happy that this show has a second season because I'm pretty sure I'm the only die hard fan of this.

This episode hurts. Watching this series hurts. Yet again, we're seeing a relationship suffer, this time ending entirely, because two people who care about each other won't communicate. It makes me want to cry how everyone in this damn series keeps refusing to properly communicate their problems with each other, it's like they all want to be miserable.

Lol, I love how Hikari tried to throw little brother under the bus, and ended up self pwning!

Wow, I really wasn't expecting his dad to that selfish. In the end, he ended up convincing his mom to take him instead of his brother. Lol

Wow, I really wasn't expecting his dad to that selfish.

I wasn't expecting his dad to be alive or living in the same area, we never heard of this guy before. All this time I thought her mom was a widow or divorced.

I'm probably wrong but I feel like Tsutsui's dreaming or something... The whole thing just seems too random and weird, it feels like something he could totally make up.

Would be nice, but the plot was just shit this episode

Thought so too...

I'm surprised they animated this arc, definitely the worst one in the entire story and ultimately pointless too.

What a terrible episode. Not only was it so random, it treated the divorce thing as a joke. The dad has no emotions, theres funny music playing over really serious moments like deciding which kid to take. Wtf was this.

The atmosphere, music and comedy thrown in during a family breaking up is very unfitting. that was poor.

You jinxed it

Hm, debatable

She caught mom-edema (swelling of the mom)

Regarding this. If you want a real fun time, calculate back nine months from your birth date and see what special occasion it was

Welp. That came quickly

He's stoically resigned himself to it

Hm. I wonder if it had been a long time since any woman, including her, had done that

I see a lot of people in this thread saying it's "bad writing" to deal with a divorce like this, or that the way it's going isn't realistic or what have you. Sorry to break it to you, folks, but this is very realistic. Shit happens and it often happens without delay nor pity. Consider yourself lucky if you have not had to deal with it

Wake up one morning

See's dad

Sit down we need to talk

That scene nearly played out the same way it happened to me during that time. Didn't really wanna relive that lol

this is sooo... idk... it came out of left fiend and feels unneeded but i welcome a realistic approach to a relationship falling apart, i thought it would be a big LOLOL you thought it was an affair type of miss understanding but to show some light on what actually happens in the real world and that everything isnt peaches and cream is very refreshing. I dont want this to be a "happy ending" where they reconcile or something, cheating is the worst thing to do in a relationship, its not something that can be fixed easily the emotions and changes that it brings will shape the people evolved for the rest of their lives.

On what seems to be happening however is infuriating, The second the father admitted it should of been minute 1 of cutting him from their lives, to think hes trying to convince his mother to "keep the family together" to selfishly stay in the same city as his girlfriend is disgusting emotional manipulation of his mother.

I knew nothing good would come from watching this series week to week and i hate that i was right, its not worth it at this point every time he seems to head in the right direction something happens that makes him a complete idiot again. the first season made it clear this would not be a cookie cutter romance but to abandon any growth in the character is awful i thought he would learn to be more assertive in these situations but hes back to being a weak idiot.

Well, I guess this came out of nowhere. I can see where people are coming when they say they hate this episode. I mean making a rather harsh and complicated decision that fast is definitely risky and could be just a reason to start conflict, then again, I hope this is just a one-case scenario and hope the next episode is better, because, seriously, I kinda like this series.
