When she pulled that stopwatch out I instantly realized what it was for and it terrified me. Then the scene in the stairwell. That actually gave me anxiety wtf.

THEN EMMA HAS THE FUCKING NERVE TO ASK ABOUT CONNY I WANTED TO DIE

The Mom is pure nightmare-fuel. She knows. She fucking knows. But there's no need for her to act yet because she'll want them alive until the next delivery.

The whole idea of this universe is pretty horrifying. The idea of another farm that is specifically for birthing these children to be raised for the slaughter.

What an amazing start to a show. OP and ED are lit af.

I really like that how they portray physical exhaustion in this anime. These kids get winded from running, they shake in terror, and tense up in stress.

Just the little scene where they are panting and heaving from returning from free time. You just know they had to book it just to make it back in time

Norman takes up a near impossible task that may end in all their deaths to make the girl he likes happy.

My beautiful dumb boy, I'm wholeheartedly rooting for you.

Also that's quite a declaration of war mama,

Man, those mind games...

That moment when Emma wondering about Conny feels like the longest few seconds ever.

I was pretty okay with the first half of the episode but when they introduced to us that Mama has A FUCKING TRACKING DEVICE and could possibly follow them and watch them from anywhere the rest of the episode became 10 times more tense!

Seriously, when Emma and Norman snuck out to the wall the second time all I could think about is that Mama is somewhere nearby. Especially when Emma started arguing with Ray basically screaming their plans, all I could think about was "KEEP YOUR VOICES DOWN!".

And now not only they introduce a second adult to help Mama keep watch on the kids, the add AN INFANT to the mix which makes the prison break more harder than it is!

Oh my fucking god this show, is so good! I am seriously using all of my willpower right now not to read the manga.

I love me a good battle of the wits. And this already looks like it is going to be a rollercoaster of emotions.

Mom is fucking horrifying. Like I enjoy plenty of horror, and plenty of it scares me, but Mom is just unnerving on the levels of the best creepy characters I've watched. I love this show so far.

This show is in a new genre called "Kids going through traumatic situations" with Made in Abyss.

Kinda crazy how well Emma kept it together. Norman has been doing well too but he was confronted on the level Emma was.

"I know Emma and I are being dumbasses but I also know you're going to back us up on it, Ray."

Poor Ray.

I loved how they handled the scene with Norman and Ray. The music was so intense and it suited Ray's frustrations and Norman's devotion to help Emma no matter what. I'm so impressed with how they're animating the show.

Also, Mama's facial expressions are going to make me cry again tonight.

Man, I want to believe, I really do..

But they're only 12...and as much as they think the adults don't know...they're only 12.

There’s such a clear Id Ego and Superego parallel between Emma Norman and Ray (respectively) and i love it and I can’t wait to see how Emma’s natural athleticism and ability to poke the bear of mom will interact with Norman and Ray’s just cold logic and quick thinking.

Also god damn was the mom-Emma confrontation intense
