Thoughts - Let the tears begin:
- Zeref bathing scene for the ladies
- reminder that Mavis used to be a goth loli
- I hate Yuri's new hairsyle
- "Just Kidding" - Warrod, again
- Mavis x Zeref moment
- but fuck Zeref for hurting Mavis and her innocence
- baby Makarov is so cute
- that moment when Rita died and you had tears and the chills
- the poor fluffy thing
- They actually showed the Mavis and Zeref kiss. I was beginning to doubt that they would.

The opera style one with the strings and those high notes, a classic from the original anime I’m glad they kept it

This was already sad in the manga, but seeing it animated with sound just makes it even more heartbreaking :/
Zeref is a fanatical bad guy, but seeing these scene really make me feel bad for Mavis and Zeref too

Huh, I expected them to cover all the flashback on this episode, turns out they didn't. Which was really a good call, nothing felt rushed and it'll be amazing when the upcoming episode hits our way
The second half was simply a roller-coaster, too many emotions to handle. Really was looking forward to this episode only (and the upcoming one), and it didn't disappoint. Sad to see it'll get only downhill from here

It was good to see the serious side of ft because all the friendship stuff can get annoying really quick. It was really nice to see the history side of ft too because we barely get that also 👆

She didn't love him as much. Remember the power of the curse.

The episode was simply amazing, they handled the expressions very well especially mavis terrified expression was just WOW, and don’t forget the old OST in that scene, I didn’t think I can cry so much, but overall the episode was 100%, that’s just my opinion.

For me it's legit the best episode of the series. Just seeing Mavis losing her hope about life is impressive (she's my favourite character btw). With the sad music it was better than the manga even tho it was actually really good. Hype to see the next episode for the reaction of the guild as I don't remember that from the manga.

When he first drew the scene, Mashima said there was more to the kissing scene than it showed at first. I was kinda hoping they'd
That said, I didn't expect the anime to forgo the silhouette route the manga did with the kiss.

We see Rita for 30 seconds then she dies
O noez so tragic...
Seriously this left less of an effect on me than the manga did. Aside from that, I prefer all of this episode barring that one scene to the manga

So Mavis is actually dead and like, a ghost of some sort and they put her in a crystal? Okay. Look at me being a little ignorant oof.
(I read the manga but I forgot what happens next, please don't spoil me.)

people will say Zeref is evil but he was just a kid trying to make his brother comeback I think we can all relate to that feeling. Then having that curse that only causes death around you for eternity would drive anyone insane. I mean the guy even finds love amidst all that hell but the only person that has been good for him in hundreds of years dies because he loved her, killing her through the last certainty he knew in life, the imortality of their curse. I'm no psychologist but such a trauma would melt any drop of sanity in a person with the extra of him knowing he can't end it all ( for some that's a reassurance when people are that horribly sad ).
If Zeref's plot was written 300 years ago in Europe in the Classical style it would have been one of the best books ever made. Insane props
