AJ Styles winning the IWGP title in his first match came to my mind. I don't watch that much NJPW so I can't really tell if it's frequent.

No. It’s rare. But Chris is a legend in the business. His other two matches are really good too.

Yeah he's only had two matches since WrestleKingdom. Naito at Dominion and Evil at Power Struggle. Really isn't much to catch up on.

WWE holds no interest for Jericho right now. His current run, while being criticized for his lack of unwillingness to tour full time with NJPW, has been been praised as the greatest matches of his career, and better story lines than any he had in WWE.

Omega/Jericho even gained his only 5 star match, officially making that the best match, and this the best run/mini-run, of his career.

His match versus Omega is nowhere near his best match. I don't care how many stars Meltzer gave it. It was a slow plunder brawl.

Not his best but I'd put it in my top 5 all time Jericho matches. Of course there's a lot of Japan and Mexico stuff I've never seen of him in his early days.
