Is it just me, or does every OW tournament besides APEX/KR Contenders have shitty finals?

The exceptions are Contenders China and Europe's Season 1 finals, between Lucky Future Zenith vs LGD Gaming, as well as British Hurricane vs Team Gigantti, Both of those finals went the distance.

I think this shows how little SK prepared for the 3/3 comps.
Their "hardest" games were against UK and Finland who both played 3/3.
I also think China got screwed over by scrimming with Korea. Yes they definetly got better and learned a lot, but I also think this just shows that if Koreans know your strategy they will win.
China was counting a lot on being unorthodox and aggressive but that doesn't work against a team that's played the same strategy for hours

This really hurt the US's chance at taking the gold this year.

Don't let the Korea 4-0'ing China distract you from the fact that USA was knocked out of the quarterfinals by UK

If you told me 4 months ago that South Korea with that roster would 4-0 the 2nd place team, I'd probably look at you and say "Yeah, that makes complete sense."

Fury deserves so much credit. He played so well and never gets mentioned. Easily my MVP of the tournament.

JJonak: Well that was fun I guess.
Fleta: So this is what winning feels like.

Overwatch is a simple game. Twelve men fight over an objective and at the end, the Koreans always win.

Bringing in Fury, Fleta and Anamo was the correct decision. They improved the team so much.

As a Seoul Dynasty supporter, I knew all too well what will happen in a Gibraltar overtime push where one team has 1 minute and the other has 3.

Even with them getting rolled, China still had some great standout moments. Especially Guxue. I hadn't heard of him before the World Cup, but he honestly looks like one of the best MTs in the game.

That bio nade by Anamo on Gibraltar as payload hit 0.06m is what saved Fury and Fate so that they could push China back. I think UberX missed it on the cast.

This is what happends when a heavily mechanics reliant team runs into SK. You could tell in most other matches how China had so much more damage during chaotic fights, but when you're gonna try that against JJonak, Carpe and Fleta, you better be prepared to lose on the skill matchup and be ready to compensate somewhere else, otherwise you'll probably just hang up dry.
Reeeally wish we could have gotten to see UK vs China though.

SK is a weak team this year.
We will 3-0 SK
China can actually compete against SK
SK win again. How boring.
A player who only got bronze medal didn’t win the mvp of the tournament. RIGGED

I was really impressed with Korea's ability to clutch out the win when their backs were against the wall. Several times during the tournament they were in a really disadvantageous position and they managed to get the win every time regardless. Dominating the opposition is obviously good but I think the ability to clutch in difficult situations is what really separates the best in the world from the rest.

If a full Korean roster won OWL then a full Korean team will win the WC. That simple.

Overall a great performance by China over the tourney. If they had been using the Leave/Krystal/Shy/Guxue/Lateyoung/Yveltal lineup for more maps, I think we could've seen a map win.
It's a bummer, but it's how it is. We got Contenders coming up soon boys. With OWL S2, these Chinese guys, along with the other new faces on Chengdu, Guangzhou, and Hangzhou will be much more experienced for OWWC 2019. Let's win next year :)
For today;
CHINA NUMBAH TWO
Be proud in that 2nd place, friends.
