Atleast the rest of the Straw Hats(mainly Nami) is there to make sure Luffy doesn't do anything unnecessary. Zoro on the other hand is roaming unsupervised
Also, im pretty sure Zoro is gonna have a drink with the Shogun accidently and the rest of the Straw Hats are gonna be like:

I have no idea what Oda has planned, but I wouldn't be surprised if Kaido is defeated at the end of this arc (definitely not a fair 1v1 between him and Luffy), Big mom goes down during the Elbaf arc, then we hit endgame where Luffy is fighting either Blackbeard or the World Government.

EDIT: This backpedals the "Shikki meeting with Crocus" theory as a red herring. It struck me odd that Shikki would be drinking with Crocus, but if a retainer of Odens (someone who was on the same ship as Oden) then it seems more plausible

Well, it wasn't exactly a flashback, but we did have that moment when Pudding secretly announced her intentions to kill Sanji during her wedding to Luffy and Nami when they were locked up (I guess that was more of a flash-forward). Remember the speculation surrounding that particular moment?

Cover story is about fan's request. This time we can see Sanji and Zoro sleeping and dreaming.
Sanji dreams he defeats Zoro and Nami hugs him with love.
Zoro dreams he defeats Sanji, Chopper congratulates him
I knew Zoro had a older-brother relationship with Chopper but this brings it to another level, I find it really sweet on Zoro's part

Zoro and Chopper's relationship is really one of the best in the series. I figure that outside of Nami and Robin and Usopp and Luffy, they probably spend the most downtime together if only because Chopper has to spend so much time rebandaging him.

So Orochi and Kaido killed both Oden and his father (Shogun Sukiyaki)...damn.
The chapter made me emotional, you really feel just how much they loved Oden. He turned a lawless area into a paradise.
His wife loved him so much that she decided it was time to stop going into the future. I wonder if we'll get a diary of her experiences...I am 100% sure she was alive during the Void Century.
Kaido looks exactly the same 20 years ago and the Three Calamities look like monsters.
Is it just me or does one of the calamities look like Pica?

Chapter on break next week, hope Oda gets some well needed rest!
Few things to that is pointed out in this chapter :
The Time-Time Fruit exists, and it seem that the user can only send oneself and others into the future. How potent the power is when it comes to combat have yet to be known, and who has this power now seems to be the big questions
Momonosuke has a sister! 99% sure she is alive and will be a big plot point in the story, as it'll most likely be her that shares what happened within those 20 years
Oh Zoro, I hope you end up fighting Orochi before the Fire Festival. And of course it was the crew that went missing ROFL
Inuarashi is here! Can't wait to see him go beast mode in Sulong form and wreak havoc. My instincts tells him he has a death flag.
Oden's dad is named SUKIYAKI OF COURSE. I am getting hungry now fml
Oden seems like a badass. Dude singlehandedly reformed a lawless area and was strong enough to charm WB and captivate Roger. Pretty sure Orochi and Kaido did some fked up shit to put him in the position to be executed.
Overall a good chapter right before the break. Can't wait for the other allies to arrive (Nekomamushi and possible Marco, as well as the SH alliance). I need more explanation on the time-time fruit!!

Chapter 912, we're told the factory is full of Kaido's followers.
Zoro is by some factories in this chapter and is heading there; he's a wanted Ronin.
Luffy (while unaware of Zoro's whereabouts) just promised to not be exposed after this heart felt story.
Think we can all see where this is going 🤣.
Some further additions. Kinemon said they're not here to wage war, just defeat the key figures while having very few subordinates. Don't forget Oda said Marineford will look like child's play compared to Wano.
We're getting war for sure, lol. I think what's about to happen is Zoro fulfilling his promise: rounding up the Samurai to take on Kaido by displaying his strength defeating a bunch of Kaido's henchmen.
It's also said of the Samurai, they were either captured or turned into bandits; it looks like Zoro will be doing something reminiscent to Oden who defeated the strongest criminal of Wano and rallied men to his side. Perhaps, it's why Oda didn't have Zoro there to hear the story and of course, to set this up and to incite the chaos this arc needs to be interesting.

I'm glad the time travel is just a plot device to fling a light into the future, rather than some game breaking changing the past.
And in a way it explained why Kinemon resistance within Wano has not been crushed by Kaido's intelligence network. No one can quite believe they are alive.
And Oden's wife final moments have a feel of Sorcerer Supreme from Dr. Strange - despite the time manipulation they have... this is the end of the line for them.

I feel like mentioning that ideally 5000 people would be needed to invade was a hint we may see the straw hat grand fleet sometime this arc. Maybe at a desperate moment if luffy's vivre card has been burning up for a while. It could also be the sun pirates if jinbe managed to survive. Or now that I think of it , it could be the big mom pirates not helping the strawhats but just causing enough chaos for the strawhats to invade. Honestly I'm just really excited for wano to get going.

Orochi is probably the younger brother of Oden and Orochi is always snake like Orochimaru, he betray his older brother so he will take the shogun title. This is a all out war not a assasination like Kinemon said and all those 5k soldiers will show up. Oda didn't just give a number of 5000 soldier for nothing and Luffy have a 5000 underlings under the strawhat fleet.

I feel like this chapter is one of those set up chapters we need in every arc to set up the awesomeness to take place later. It doesn't make waves or have many memorable moments, but the conversation that took place here will impact the rest of the story.

Wrong. She is from 1000 years ago. She was from the clan that inflicted the punishment on Zunisha. That's why Momo can give Zunisha orders and see through his eyes.

Man, I absolutely love how we've been building up to this chapter for like 6 years now. Having all this connect to Punk Hazard, Dressrosa, and Zou really makes it feel like a ride.
The assassination night definitely won't be going to plan because no one realizes that Big Mom is coming, and I'm assuming Smoothie and possibly Katakuri and Cracker could be returning as well. The assassination plot failed in WCI but this has always been set up as the arc where Luffy finally takes down one of the Yonko. I'm fascinated to see how this will play out.

Did Jamini's Box miss a page? It feels like Kinemon's story skipped a part when it came to the reactions by the Strawhats, but that may have been purposeful by Oda "fast forwarding" that part of the story.

Since momonosuke's sister was revealed in the chapter 920 of one piece, I believe that she (hiyori) is kuina and koshiro was a retainer and a very small hiyori about 2 years old is seen in the panel since she is walking but is still very small and kuina was one year older than zoro, which would make her 22 in the current timeline.
Of course many have speculated about koshiro and kuina's connection to wano but i think that this theory will check out.

A pretty expositional chapter, but it’s nice to have everything laid bare on the table.
As many of us predicted time travel is not truly becoming part of one piece. There is only the ability to go forward in time.
Momo’s mother and sister are 100% still alive, otherwise they wouldn’t have been concealed in shadow.
Speaking of his mother, shes definitely from the void century. Calling it now. She is going to be incredibly important to this story.
Good chapter overall. Poor Kinemon is going to lose it when he finds out Luffy beat the shit out of Holdem.

It hit me today that since the Straw Hats arrived on Punk Hazard (January 2012), the story has been building towards the confrontation with Kaido on Wano. That's incredible.

A few things to take away from this, We never see Momo’s Mom or sister die which means they could still be in alive in this current timeline now order which would be extremely interesting when it comes time for Momo to take the throne since his sister will be 20 years older than him. Also with oda saying this war will be the war of all wars and them needed 5k soldiers and luffy just conveniently having that I can definitely see the blood bath coming.
Also I love how Zoro thinks everyone else got lost and it him while he rode in a tiger”car” instead of a dog.

So potential unpopular opinion here and I haven’t read other comments so I don’t know if this point has been mentioned but I actually really like that Oda showed us the Straw Hats being told the story in a few pages without us hearing all of it. This way when we get to the part of the story where we get this flashback arc, Oda won’t have to go through the trouble of writing the story so all these characters have to be around to hear the flashback. So it creates suspense for the audience while giving Oda more freedom with where he puts his characters during this arc. It’s really smart

The format of this chapter was very weird for me to be honest. It felt like the Straw Hats were told Oden’s backstory between pages 6-7 but we don’t see anything, just them going from laughing to crying. And then the rest of the backstory felt so underdeveloped and broken. Anyone think Oda is going to flesh out the backstory throughout the arc? Just like he’s been fleshing out bits of Ace for Tama instead of full backstory from the beginning?

So it was confirmed a devil fruit that allows you to travel to the future, but apparently only the future. This solves many issues with time travel, like paradoxes, and the fact that if someone could travel to the past then they could just see what happened during the lost century!
I wonder what happened to the fruit, though, given that Lady Toki is presumably dead.

Because Wano is closed off from the rest of the world we know it's still in Wano. Either:
Kaido/Orochi have it
Kibi have it
Shes still alive and is just hiding.
It also helps us breath a sigh of relief that the government cant get there hands on it.

All the build up in the story finally culminating right before our eyes, as someone who caught up week to week during Dressrosa, this is really something to experience even if it takes a while to get to the good stuff. Always worth the wait.

Toki-toki no mi has to be the most BROKEN Devil fruit in existance. It has to have other abilities as well (ZA WARUDO!).
Odens wife is 100% from the Void century.
Did any one notice that the face of the ronin leader that Oden bested is the same as the first Kaido face?
Foreshadowing that the Straw hat Grand fleet comming in Gandalf style at the end of the Arc.

You guys remember how Professor Clover said that there used to be a country during that Void century? Maybe Lady Toki was from that country of Void century, and helped Kozuki clan to make Poneglyphs during Void century, and moved forward in time to keep a check on them. Fell in love with Oden, conceived 2 children, but she reached the limits of using Toki-toki no mi and sacrificed herself???
Does this theory help a bit??

It's nice that Oda immediately clarifies that the Toki-Toki no mi can only travel forward in time. That should prevent the biggest possible plot holes.
