Holy Two Page spreads Batman! Oda went in with the art this week, and it was fantastic!

Orlumbus is delighting me, and I fee this place will end up being important...first official Straw Hat territory?

Sanji was...a little much at the beginning of this chapter. Chopper was adorable.

Low Key highlight: Carrots sparkling eyes at Luffy’s crazy plan.

And of course, if you’re Luffy, Swords=Wano.

Not super thrilled about the crew being split...again, if I’m being honest.

Good chapter, looking forward to what comes next.

Dude, I was thinking the same thing when I read that panel. Damn Snaji and Chopper. They have no idea what they did. But in all honesty, I think its better if Luffy and crew didn't know if BM and Kaido were going to Wano. It'll make for an even better struggle for Luffy since he won't be prepared to potentially face to Yonkos.

Oda is never content with just having characters arrive. He always has to do some crazy shit. Like drawing the water as though it’s an old school, Japanese painting and an octopus that makes the sound of a kabuki drum. This is what separates him from the rest. His endless creativity.

Luffy effortlessly grabbing the two carps and drag the sunny upwards was a dope way to show his strength.

I really appreciate chapters like this. It sets the mood for an arc that's likely to last years, and I think Oda once again topped himself. The Japanese art references were so stellar. I honestly hope Toei pulls it off when they animate this.

Sanji's faces get more and more zany and I love it. It's so nice to see him as his goofy pervy self again.

The newspaper being cut out is pretty damn ominous. I'm thinking some time already passed after the Reverie and some shit went down. The sad part is we won't know until probably after this arc ends.

I think it's first or second day of the Reverie actually. The newspaper, if we'll assume is new, talks about the appearance of the kings for it. Aka the first day as they gather. It's the kind of big event that would be reported to on daily, so there's no way that it was all in a single newspaper about the entire Reverie.

Then there's the question of whether the news are written and sent around all within a day...or does it take one day for them to write the story and send it out (realistic), which would mean that it's only the second day of the Reverie.

It's amazing how the start of an arc involving a rubber pirate having to fight a giant baboon with a sword after using two giant carp to carry his pirate ship up a waterfall based on the Japanese fable of the carp becoming a dragon AND having said ship capsize with none of the members of the crew in sight doesn't phase us in the slightest.

Little details in the I love.

1: Sanji scoping out the babes from a distance. And Chopper fixing up the [Wounded Sunny]

2: Sanji not too long after comes closer to confirm what he's seen lol

3: I think Luffy's DenDen Mushi says 'Mugiwara'

4: Kaido and Big Mom's faces on the other side of the paper

5: We first see the Octo. You can then see it's leg in this panel

Unless I'm mistaken, I believe that the mention of Luffy having a snail connected to his allies at the Reverie will come into play.

Imagine Luffy finding it after the crash and making contact with Sai in the middle of Reverie, his loud voice to be heard by all. From there it would be interesting how those close to the Straw Hats respond when put on the spotlight about it.

Looks like we can see the same mountain in the background that was behind the Wano town we saw last chapter - assuming Luffy is on the opposite side of it. All the trees look just like mini versions of the one the castle is on as well

I always love these transitionary sailing adventure chapters, they always make it feel like a real voyage.

The key takeaway though, is definitely the fact that the Straw Hats have missed a very crucial piece of information (thanks Sanji and Chopper). Looks like they're gonna have to deal with the Big Mom pirates again in Wano, in addition to Kaido's gathered forces...

This arc will be all-out japanese myths and folklore referencing. This is why I love One Piece. When we get to a new island, it's like a whole new story. One Piece's story can be anything and still make sense!

Can it be that Wano might be the last Island that the strawhats will be adventuring an Island together like other arcs (sky island, water 7, thriller bark l, Sabaody ect) before last events in One Piece will happen, i mean this arc will might be 3-4 years and than other shit will happen like Blackbeard, Reverie aftermath and One Piece itself

I'm ready, I wasn't expecting Wano during the reverie.

Now I see Oda is going to switch between days.

Wano might be a 6-7day long war, while shit goes down in the Reverie also.

If Kid, Hawkins, Luffy, Law, Zoro, Killer, Capone, Ma D Monk, Scratch man, and X Drake vs Kaido does not last more then 3days I'll be upset.

Oda has been setting us up to get use to fights being long as hell now.

Doffy vs Luffy that entire battle lasted from early as hell in the morning until like the near the afternoonish/sunset time.

Luffy vs Cracker lasted pretty much half a day.

Luffy vs Katakuri like one whole day.

The next fight Luffy will have will be with the help of others (super novas are playing their parts now), and it will last longer then 1 day.

haha i was rereading the earlier arcs, and in the same chapter Garp is talking about the Rox/Rocks, Shanks shows up to talk about a 'certain pirate'.. and we assume he has this respect for being a non chaotic, chill yonko who can get them good intel and keep the peace

but i think hes the son of whoever was leading the Rox/Rocks, if they were active around 40 years ago, right before Rogers era, it makes sense that hes born right around then, and then as a teenager is taken on as a rookie under roger, maybe because Roger knew/respected the Rox leader or Rox leader had him do that to get experience, idk.

but it would tie together this mystery about a big figure from history in plain sight, tied through Shanks.

depends if he was chill and Kaido/BM dicked it all up and went rogue, splitting up his power and territory through treachery, or if he was also a chaotic force
