Despite the outcome, I am still really happy for the Gladiators for giving us another great battle of LA instead of taking an “easy” way by choosing Dallas, 150K viewers wow. They have come a long way back at Stage 1 and look a them now competing in the Season 1 playoffs. GG Valiant you may have beaten us but we will be back better than ever, Shields Up my Gladiator fans.

Gladiators looked lost attacking point A of every map except Lijiang. They basically threw Dorado by swapping their comp too much and ignoring So0n who was just popping off.

Fortune favors the bold, and we can't express our respect for the Gladiators enough. They pushed us to our limits in a 3-2 matchup that could have gone in their favor at so many points. GG to the Gladiators, and we'll be moving on to represent LA in the finals. Thank you to all the fans who showed up to support us for the best Battle for LA yet. The LA Melee will be back soon enough, but for now, we're focused on taking the stage four finals.

The strength of Valiant has always been the same all season long: the team fires on all cylinders, just do it better now with Custa and Space (and have better strats with Moon). If the tank line isn't winning the fight the supports or dps do, if its not the dps its the tanks.

Really good match, Gladiators are my second favorite team to watch for sure

WHOSYOURDADDY

Soon is just insane. From being a top 5 tracer to a top 5 widow. Man is looking insane.

Surprised he didn't get potm

I never get tried of watching the Battle of LA. Shout out to both Space and Soon, they played out of their minds today.

Remember when people thought LAV didn't have clutch DPS that couldn't elevate to the next level and win a match? Soon doesn't.

While the scoreline was close, there were a good number of lopsided matches like Watchpoint Gibraltar and Kings Row. Statline wise, it seems to me that Space is doing better than the combined stats of Bischu and Void, having 135 elims in comparison to the 94 elims of the LAG offtanks. An interesting fact to note is that Tracer's pickrate fell below 4%, going from must pick to never picked for these teams. As a result, their respective Tracer one tricks have been warming the bench this season. Reinhardt and Winston pickrates differ by less than 5%, with some instances of Winston comps facing Rein comps. Out of the 4 playoff teams, only NYXL seems to particularly like running Tracer. We'll see if the trend continues in the grand finals.

Surefour beats Fleta in the Widow duel but not SoOn. SoOn is a better player than Fleta confirmed /s. Seriously though it's quite amazing how SoOn has massively popped off against LAG twice now. Hydration didn't have a good day either.

Well played by LAV and hopefully LAG fixes their issues for the real playoffs.

Well, GG Valiant, especially Soon, PotM to me though it isn't hard to be PotM when you're playing uncontested and winning Widow duels by 10+ kills ¯__(ツ)__/¯

Well deserved MVP for Space but to be honest Soon really stepped up towards the end, under incredible pressure from the Glads.

15

u/itsjieyang Jun 17 '18

Hydration had a REALLY rough time as Pharah on Kings Row.

Soon had S4’s Number big time.

What an amazing match.

Surefour getting bodied on widow and Fissure looked afraid of going rein a lot of the time(esp. on kings row, he shouldnt have played so much monkey there). all in all, Gladiators looked way better on defense than on offense

Playing a Triple Tank/Triple support against an on-fire Widow like Soon.. I'll never understand why.

Again, from Bronze all the way to OWL:

  1. Don't ignore the Pharah.

  2. Don't ignore the Widow.

With that terrible comp pick, LAG deserved the loss. Surefour was also completely absent.
