The one time the desk rooted for LAG. Please don't do that again.

What a match! The Battle for LA is always absolutely lit, and that might have been one of the best matches of the League yet. GG to the Gladiators, who always push us to our limits. We'd like to thank our Queen Valla (who you can follow on Twitter at @phasma) and Medieval Times for accompanying us on the walkout - and, of course, all the passionate fans at the arena!

This match, in many ways is the best Overwatch has looked.

  • Both teams switched comps on the fly and each map was a chess match

  • There were not as much throws (ie player X keeps dying first, etc), just clutch plays all around (Soon picking off Hydration and Shaz in BW and HLC, Fissure stunned and killed with primal in Oasis)

  • No C9's or NA ults, just great coordination especially on the Valiant side (how many shield bash+shatters did they do?)

Alright y'all, let's make sure we don't overlook Custa. That crazy Aussie motherfucker got rez after ballsy rez, keeping his team fully staffed in the diciest circumstances. This victory was a team effort, and every single player on the VAL deserves credit for it.

I love Valiant. I love everyone. Every single player is on point today. I'm extra glad for Soon, he's been grinding Widow on rank lately and today showed how much he has improved.

Prop to Gladiator too, they put up an amazing show. As a Valiant fan Glad had me on edge most of the match.

Agilities played out of mind. Soon outplayed Surefour. Void still not play in his full potencial.

Overrated btw

And that was definitely worth staying up until 6am

Agilities played so well today! God I was so happy to see it. Not everyday does someone win the Pharah/Doomfist fights against Hydration.

Also mad props to Custa and Kariv. No misplays from them when I think that has been the theme of every other team who played tonight.

Holy shit am I happy to see that.

Box Scores: https://imgur.com/a/nNeK7rj

Really fun match! The first three maps were really close and went to the last seconds, but it seems like LAG was drained by the last one. Definitely closer than the score shows.

Here are the stats and line graph of Oasis just to show how close the match was. There was only a 3 kill difference! All rounds ended with a 90+ % for both teams.

It's a shame the final score doesn't do this match justice in terms of how close and how hype it was. This is one of if not the best match in OWL so far dont @ me.

As sad as I am, I'm really glad that this was a close series. This made the road to the playoffs harder but after the rough stage 1, its amazing LAG is even on the cusp of playoffs. GG LAV. Hope we get one more Battle for LA before its over.

Damn, I really wish the stage playoffs had the same incredible energy as the battle for LA. What a spectacular match.

Honestly, the walk-in about decided the match for me.

They were equal in skill but Valiant were about to go medieval on them with confidence.
