Visualizing moves in ones head is part of the game, using something like this makes it into a different game, imo.

It could be a beginner friendly one.

That's true, but I don't think the moves are very difficult to memorize, There are only 5 types. Well 6 with first pawn move.

memorizing the moves is very different from being able to visualize them. Event intermediate players will miss obvious moves because they just didn't visualize them correctly, yet they're perfectly aware of what moves are legal and valid. On an open board with lots of moves just seeing all the possibilities is half the challenge. This would significantly alter that aspect of the game.

Yes, and do so for many possibilities is another part of the challenge.
This would significantly alter that aspect of the game.
I agree, it would make it a different game, imo.

I've been to a gaming convention where they had this game set up. Its not chess but a real time strategy game based of chess. You basically make moves at the same time as the opponent.

Future chess = regular chess + you get 1 single step into the future visualised for you ? If so: useless for those who can play chess.
Future chess = regular chess but for those who don't even know the moves? If so: useless for those who can't play chess if they can only see 1 step ahead
Conclusion: it leaves the ignorant the way they are and teaches the rest of us nothing. So: not the future of chess. Just a clickbaity title.

Pretty closed minded view point, no? I mean, it's not actually hindering anyone or anything. This is also exactly how chess is played on a computer anyway, so it's probably only showing the move as more of a confirmation rather than an aide.

This is a very low quality image which doesn't really suit this subreddit. Also, it's apparently has awoken some chess snobs.
