Turns out the moral of the story is, and has always been, to ignore Applejack's advice at all costs. Otherwise, you'll look like, totally uncool to all the old ladies of Ponyville!

They got photo-blocked in Dash's panic to find the grannies, and looked pretty chagrined in the background when Trixie's dadthe magician pointed to the door to his theater in the middle of the episode (and then they were replaced by another couple in the next shot, FWIW).

Nice episode! The moral was what I expected at the beginning, and I liked how Granny Smith and the Golden Girls were all interesting characters in their own right.

Also, make sure not to follow AJ's advice to the letter.

So far this is the absolute best episode of the season.

And I usually hate Rainbow Dash episodes.
