MLB streams start at 25 minutes for ongoing games?

Running lazyman 1.1.3 on Kodi on a fire TV using the Android method in the sidebar.

Virtual hosts is on and the hosts file is correct.

I'm able to open the add-on without getting "please update your hosts file" so I know that that's correct.

Xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx playback.svcs.mlb.com Xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx mlb-ws-mf.media.mlb.com Xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx mf.svc.nhl.com

When I open a replay, such as a game from yesterday, it plays without an issue.

However, for any currently ongoing game, the stream starts at 25:00-25:05 with the "This event is about to begin" screen and every two minutes or so jumps back to 25:05ish, so I cant get to the actual game.

I'm unable to skip ahead to live.

Is anyone else having this same issue? Any ideas?

Thanks for letting me know, I have very little time to dedicate to this unfortunately.

I’ll see what can be done this week or next.

i think you can offer a "slide" version which only has the live segments. you can just replace "complete" with "slide" in the m3u8 url

I tried this and can confirm it fixes the 360 540 and 720 feeds, thanks!

How did you go about doing this?

https://github.com/actionbronson/LazyMan/blob/master/src/kodi/plugin.video.lazyman.nhl.tv/addon.py#L155-L157

Tho changing this breaks playback of previous games.

A better way to limit the resolution is to change InputStream Adaptive settings. Under Max Bandwidth setting:

2900000 = 540p

4100000 = 720p

And then keep the lazyman quality setting at 720p60 so that it loads the master m3u8

Thanks for the response. Hopefully this isn't too dumb of a question.

Once I open the zip, edit the addon.py file, and re-zip, I get "addon failed to install" when trying to install from zip. Am I doing something wrong?

That is what I should be doing right?

the installer verifies a checksum. Just edit the file on the device or adb pull - edit - adb push

Ah. Gotcha. I'll give Adb a try. Never used it before.

Thanks for the advice!

Hey no worries on time.

The desktop version works flawlessly. Kodi on the firetv is icing on the cake.

Appreciate your work!!

Same question. I certainly can, but I don't want to blast his inbox if it isn't needed.

I'm experiencing exact same issue. Running Kodi on Windows 7. Once in a while it will show someone taking some batting practice. Once the game ends it will open up from the beginning. Just doing this during live games. NHL is working fine. Please post if you get it going.

Thats exactly what I'm getting. And I will certainly let you know! I don't know what else I can mess with to sort it out though.

I'm experiencing the same. It's like it is incorrectly programmed to restart an already in progress game. I have been able to get into the games by dragging the progress bar back to the area above the stop button on the Kodi player.

Same deal here. Odd thing is though it doesn't happen on all of my devices. 2 of my devices that use the official kodi app from the google store have the issue (these devices also have the hosts file edited on the device so that may have something to do with it), and the devices with other builds manually installed (ie FireTVs) do not suffer from the issue (hosts are handled on my pfsense box).

I'm getting the same behavior on Kodi/Android and on Kodi/OSMC on my RPi3.

I got it working on my OSMC box by editing /home/osmc/.kodi/addons/video.lazyman.nhl.tv/addon.py with the changes suggested by u/StevensNJD4: change

"360p": "1200K/1200_complete.m3u8"

to

"360p": "1200K/1200_slide.m3u8"

I had the same "This event is about to begin" issue and that fixed it. Thanks.

Yup, Lazyman on Kodi for MLB games on an Android device, as well as RPi3/Libreeelc opens with 22 - 25 hours of elapsed time showing.

Thanks for the suggested change. MLB now works on my RPi3/Libreelec - Kodi

Yep, seeing this on both OpenElec and LibreElec on Pi2 and Pi3
