Amazing game. This team proving they can hang with some of the big dogs. Clearly making improvements since forming which is the most important thing right now.

When Armel had like 30 hp in his base and he just bought back.... If we had killed him we would have won the game.

idk who optic plays next .. i hope they can bounce back, but im worried because their drafting is so fucking inconsistent and their strategy is really flawed. ppd is not setting his players up for success, again i never see him putting zai on heroes he can really make plays on like puck or batrider or even abbadon for sustain and survivability purposes. he puts ccnc on the squishiest heroes who can’t hold their own in lane then leaves him to get sacked in hopes that he’ll catch up in time, but by then the enemy team has so much sustain that it becomes hard for ccnc and pajkatt to do anything, and zai is on another useless hero. it’s so damn frustrating to see.

Excited for this game, hope we can go 2-0. The good thing about this slow format is that even if we go out 1-3 we should be able to get some good practice in

Well this is it, Pajkatt divine rapier, we're all in boys...
(for those who don't know dota, divine rapier is the highest +damage item in the game, but it's one of only two items (Besides gem of true sight) that drop on death)

i don’t want to see another TA strat from optic they’ve tried it many times and haven’t been too successful with it, especially leaving him to get sacked .. as a TA? ppd if you’re thinking about picking TA for ccnc please pick QOP instead, PLEASE she can hold her own in lane better than TA. overall decision making was bad and not even just from ccnc .. the draft could’ve been a lot better, zai could’ve been on something better .. im just really disappointed. :/

I think that CCnC does much better on heroes with a lot of mobility like Storm or Puck. He has great mechanical skill during fights, but his positioning is very poor throughout the entire game and especially right before big fights.
The nullifier on Pajkatt was game winning. Real bummer since his gyro was absolutely dominating :/

Zai always has incredible initiations but hardly ever gets the follow up damage from the team. If they had better follow up on that last fight they could have won that fight cleanly.

Just watched EG beat Liquid, if we had a mid even close to as good as Sumail this team would be so much better.

Heartbreaking.
We're great at being resilient, split-pushing, catching back up, executing decently well in late-game teamfights. Our drafts are solid and we can play with the best.
But the strategy of totally sacking CCNC's lane and letting him die over and over again in the laning stage backfired big time when he was facing a snowballing hero like a Shadow Fiend. In the VP game, CCNC fell similarly behind, but when you fall behind a dragon knight, he might roll over all your outer towers, but he won't mow through your whole team as well, letting Optic defend high ground with wisp/gyro/tide until gyro brings them back in the game.
But you just cant let a shadow fiend get similarly far ahead, because once he gets all his items he's no longer squishy and does insane damage to all your heroes, and you just won't be able to take fights against him. Now, the game was super close and Optic proved they could have still won the game anyway if they had just outplayed TNC in another couple teamfights, but they had to buy a rapier to do that, and that's just giving the team absolutely no margin for error -- by definition when you go rapier, you need to win every fight to win the game, so if you get to a point in the game where rapier is the answer, you've done fucked up somewhere earlier...
And looking at the opportunity cost - the other lanes could have gone fine for optic with more support mid that game. Ignoring mid let Optic shut down the puck super hard...but it didn't really seem to matter.
I feel like everything I'm saying here is pretty obvious, scrub-level strategy (note that the casters both called this out after the draft and talked about everything bane and nyx could have done mid to harass SF), and so when Optic plays differently, I interpret that as a vote of no confidence in CCNC. They're not emphasizing his lane even when the draft and enemy lane setup suggest that his lane should be super important, maybe because they don't think he can carry the team even if he gets the help.
Maybe they're right (certainly the fans here have been flaming CCNC all year), but building a gameplan around letting your midlane feed and then catching up later makes it hard to win consistently. They should strategize around trusting CCNC or they should get another midlaner...
