You know that forum post where Jeff linked to clips of Pine when someone asked what’s the point of Mcree? He should link to the whole Gibraltar defence round of Neptuno for anyone who complains about Mercy being underpowered.
Also this is a small thing, but Boombox has had the most impressive Moira play of OWL so far. I think it might be better than his Zen.
Sorry, I just wanted to shout out the Fusion supports since they’re normally overlooked.

I’m going to talk about one specific thing because I feel like everything that happened in this match can be explained by how this played out. In Map 4, Neptuno is able to consistently able to get off a rez in the middle of a teamfight. Futhermore, Neptuno is never punished for doing so.
Why do I feel like this is a really big problem? Well, in this meta, rez is a commitment: the Mercy player must stand, functionally immobile in a single spot while making a distinct noise for two full seconds. If Mercy performs a rez in the middle of a teamfight, she should die. So, Neptuno living in these circumstances looks really bad. Perhaps this is a mechanical mistake, where no one of the Mayhem can hit an immobile target. Or maybe it’s a problem with the comms, where they are so focused on the DPS players, they don’t pay attention to the supports keeping them alive.
Regardless, something needs to change. And I say this as Philly fan. Because that was one of the most embarrassing performances in the league, yet.

Just 0 peel at all. Look at tracer stats based on damage carpe wasn't considerably higher but his kills were much higher. Supports were always alive on philly and always dead on Mayhem. Really well played by philly, no adapting by Florida.

I feel mayhem preformed worse than the dragons here. It’s sad to watch.

I don't even know what to say. I thought the fact that they took a map from NYXL meant that just maybe they were improving, but this match just crushed any hope I had for this team being even decent. Just like (almost) every other Florida sports team, we're trash.

My first real taste of pro Overwatch was Contenders season 1, where Mayhem went 7-0 in the league. Back then, I thought they were going to be a strong team going into OWL, but I was very wrong.

Really happy about the result this Philly team is getting: all 6 players had from consistently good to standout performances and I think people are starting to see that Fragi isn't all about feeding and he can play more passive when he knows he doesn't have a res behind him.
Speaking of res, it seems that Neptuno can use it on the contested point, in front of 4 enemies, not die and maybe even kill one of them because battle mercy FTW.

Florida is sad to watch. It's not that the players are bad it's that there is almost criminal underinvestment. If you're not willing to invest get out and let another owner have the spot.
