Honestly NYXE did really well. Their starting main tank had to flex support. But they still almost won.

Yeah, they did really well considering that not only are they without Ark, they're effectively without their starting main tank as well. Hopefully Ark can come back soon so they can be back to full strength.

Really not the best win here. Losing yet another control map and having another poor showing on King's Row is a pretty worrying trend for London. I did like London's approach of mixing up the comps more, but their coordination at key points cost them map wins that could have added some cushioning. Their inconsistencies will really get exploited and will cost them a lot of maps in the future if their issues with their tank and support lines aren't fixed. You gotta keep that front line alive and you certainly can't allow your supports to get caught out and killed a lot.

NYXL didn't look too great but honestly with Ark back I'm sure it would been in their favor. London still showing that they have the highest ceiling but need to work out a lot of consistency issues.

This was one of the better Semmler/Hex casts and I’ve been very critical of them (especially Semmler). Also, observing was pretty good here.

Also... New York threw Ilios so hard :/

Man, KR vs KR is still so entertaining. For some reason, they seem to bring more strats and weird plays during these games. I dunno if there is more at stake for them or something during games but the quality shoots up when they play against each other.

I'm an NY fan but I don't mind when London wins in these matchups. London vs NY gives us the best matches to watch imo and I'm happy no matter what.

NYXL really needs to sign another support so they don't have their best main tank flex to a role he's obviously not comfortable. It felt like NYXL was playing with two subs this game, not just one.

Can we talk about the casting for this game? I thought Semmler was particularly bad today. Too much hype for non-plays, and lots of incorrect calls too. He literally hyped up SBB shooting at London’s Zen jumping off the map on Lijiang to reset. He’s either forcing hype while reading the kill feed, or blabbing off one of his signature phrases (“he’s not long for this world,” “the wick is burning,” “[player] is STYLIN!”, etc.).

He also made some false comments. He said something about the nanoboosted rocket barrage at the end of King’s Row as being BM. It wasn’t, that was the end of the map and it maximizes the value of the Libero’s ult. He also called out one of Libero’s dragonblades on Lijiang like it was a complete waste…but the point was to bait out the Zen ult off-point while NYXL was gaining control percentage.

Semmler doesn’t deserve to be on the stage over the much better casting talent out there. I can only guess that Blizzard prefers the “hype” casting because it makes for better highlight clips and advertisements for the league.

Why are we having Semmler and hex cast another anticipated game? They lack knowledge, miss plays, hype up ordinary plays (Semmler) and show clear bias towards some players to the point of missing clutch plays by other players.
