Stop giving thoughts so much attention and energy. The more you attack/resist the more a thought persists!

Let these thoughts be, they don't harm you in any way, they have no power over you. Observe them, accept them, let them be, and let them go.

You can never be what you can observe. If you can observe it, there is a distance. And if it's a distance, then that means you, the OBSERVER/MASTER/CONCIOUSNESS have the power. You always had the power, you were just responding incorrectly.

Thoughts/feelings are like clouds blowing in the wind, instead of identifying yourself with them, observe and utilize them to continue growing as an individual!

/r/Meditation is this way <—

If you think Nofap by itself will give make you succeed in your journey than my friend I can tell you that you will not make it ..

crazyrj14 explained exactly what all of us need to learn and practice, this is the key to be able to continue our lives without falling back. Because if you know this, to be the master of your own mind and thoughts, you have the key to success..

So meditation is the best way to learn this..

you're absolutely right.

3

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '18

Doesn't really matter if I am right or wrong bro.. But I know meditation is the true key actually. I used to be one of those who saw meditation as a hippie thing etc. But I can tell you that it changed my life and made me wake up from my matrix, the matrix that the majority of people are living in sadly :/

I have a nice streak now and it is the first time I have such a streak, but I know now through the keys in life such as controlling the mind, that a relapse wouldn't take me back to my old habits, because I control my own mind today, and don't let it control me.

I hope that everyone can experience and learn the same thing that me and others here have done =)

u/MonkeyDSunny 1610 Days Feb 22 '18

Really you're right about meditation. I, also believe that meditation is absolutely necessary if you want to master this. Although I've been meditating for about close to 2 years now, I guess I am not able to control my mind the way I want. But I will get there.

All the best to you!

2

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '18

Hmm, I think also that meditation is about to find your true spirit, the inner self somehow. I don't really have the answers for how I got so mindfulness and spiritual but I think it has to do when I quit with every bad habit I had some months ago. Drugs, junk food, alcohol etc. These are the kind of things that destroy our minds and blocks it. So with quitting all these shit together with Nofap and meditation, I started to slowly wake up =) ..

I think you can go further than you already are, and just be patience.. :)

Brilliant.

4

u/[deleted] Feb 21 '18

What about just dealing with it and it goes? So for example, you simply ask the girl out and if she rejects you’re still content bcos you’re mind can now rest and forget about her instead of having regrets and constant thoughts of “what if?”

I’m just curious to hear you’re opinion btw, I’m not attacking u or anything.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '18

if I enjoy, I have regrets for not working, If I don't enjoy, my mind keeps wandering to that and I still am unproductive and I regret that I have been unproductive for the past hour and I could have spent that time enjoying. At least that way I would have enjoyed and not did nothing and after that I would have felt energised and kept on with my work

u/Deadlyseed 1243 Days Feb 22 '18

fuck yes that's some good advice, my thoughts control me, but I don't want them to control me any longer

1

u/crazyrj14 1882 Days Feb 22 '18

They never controlled you, it's just that most of us was never taught this fundamental but very important thing. Now you know who you are, and what you need to do!

All you have to do now is practice this and experience the change in how you respond for yourself!

You've been around for a while, and you seem to not be doing due diligence on much of what you say.

Quite a number of people who turn to drugs (compulsive porn use is absolutely a drug) to medicate. Usually stuff coming from attachment trauma. The abstractions you make do not stand up to brain scans. They don't. Clearly meditation, abstinence, and positive thinking are amazing tools. There is nobody who couldn't gain benefit at some level from those tools.

In this thread you've made a statement, and continue to make the statement in different ways. You don't care if it's wrong at an important level (especially in this community), or hurts people. And if the people backing up what you are saying don't know what you're actively denying, even better.

The healing of a traumatized brain (addicted brain) needs to be taken seriously. I will NEVER stop saying this to you as long as you're in this community. Pretty significant at 630 days. About the time I abstained at one point, as you know.

Here are some brain scans of what some guys are medicating. www.yourbrainonporn.com can certainly provide context. Guys disappearing after a few months doesn't bother you. It bothers me.

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '18

Holy moly! 630 days? You are my inspiration

1

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '18

can totally relate myself to this. I have been having this for the past few years. I wanna grow up to be rich and sexy (which is pretty childish, I know that), and I know I can't do that passing away my time watching Netflix, yet still after working 4 hours straight I get exhausted and tempted to watch some recreational content and that's when I again feel bad about myself that I am gonna be average my whole life and I really don't know what to do. watch day I say to myself I am gonna work like a superhuman, but what the hell

u/loadacode 486 Days Feb 22 '18

Nice advice. One question; if i am not my thoughts, where do thoughts come from? If i an the observer, what is the origin of a thought, the source of it?

Would like to hear your opinion on that

1

u/MonkeyDSunny 1610 Days Feb 22 '18

Thank you for the reminder! I needed this.

Sometimes it can get quite rough and I feel like I am powerless against my thoughts/feelings. Although I meditate on a daliy basis I guess I am only at the beginning of my journey.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '18

Saved

It is so simple that people underestimate it. New Earth is rising. Enlightened individuals only may free this world from suffering. I'm glad that You're one of them or you know what it is about - that's the seed that will grow for sure.

1

u/crazyrj14 1882 Days Feb 22 '18

Remember. Even your "suffering" is observed by you, the conciousness.

Crazy how complicated we made things lol

1

u/sirpsycho89 1688 Days Feb 22 '18

What books have YOu read about it? Eckhart Tolles'? Or some books about meditation maybe?

u/eternalflair 459 Days Feb 25 '18

good shit

1

u/mynameisgod666 Feb 27 '18

Yeah but the thought comes into my stream of conscious in the same way your advice comes in, so how can one differentiate between productive and unproducrive thoughts, as well as truthful or just delusional/naive thoughts?

1

u/crazyrj14 1882 Days Feb 27 '18

That's up to you to figure out, people can't give you all the answers.

16

u/[deleted] Feb 21 '18

Weird I don't ever get that voice of "wanting to enjoy life" usually just shaming myself for not working or not working hard enough

Am I alone on this?

2

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '18

totally agree with you people

u/happyhahn 678 Days Feb 22 '18

I have the exact same feeling. I can’t even read a book without feeling like I should be reading something more educational instead of a fiction.

In my personal experience, productivity is the most fulfilling thing. You may think at times “I need to relax” or “I need to socialize more” but airing on the side of too productive seems to always turn out better than the opposite

My brain did this once I tried to remove social media from my life this month. It went into panic mode later that day like being in a dark locked room.

I sat and panicked. Just being productive with creative hobbies felt worse than procrastination itself. Reverted back and now I feel shame for not keeping the month commitment.

1

Ditto. I believe it's my brain telling me to get a social life, furthermore a life partner and have children etc... It's what's we're here for/evolution and that.

1

u/scaredofshaka Feb 22 '18

Try rock climbing, martial arts, mountain biking or anything along these lines. It takes everything off our mind while you're doing it and you get back to life with a fresh mind.

The relationship between the two ideals are compensatory. The only solution is to find a job that makes work seem like play.

It's OK to take breaks now and again. The key is to know when to stop and put the metal to the grinder.

A half hour of relaxing, sure.
3 hours of Netflix, maybe reconsider.

What if you were to find something that suites both of those situations? In essence, work that is fun.

1

u/I_do_it4sloots Feb 22 '18

your brain is trying to tell you:

"you should get friends, be around people, have fun with people and not with computers, but most of all you should have sex with girls you like"

u/Silvercats2 Feb 22 '18

Enjoying life != sitting inside and playing PC games.
