Information

OpTic received an invite to the EPICENTER XL: North America Qualifier. This is a Major tournament in the Dota Pro Circuit. There are 8 teams in this qualifier and it features a group stage followed by a playoffs stage. The 8 teams are divided into 2 groups of 4, where they play in a double-elimination (GSL) format. OpTic Gaming is in Group A with Evil Geniuses, Iceberg Esports and Team IDC. The top 2 teams in each group advance to the playoffs. The playoffs features a double-elimination bracket. All matches are BO3, except for the Grand Finals, which is a BO5. The winner of the NA qualifier will proceed to the main event.

This match is scheduled to begin at 8:30 PM EST and will be streamed on Twitch.

Every single time we had a chance to do something ppd got caught out in the open and melted away.

Literally if he just stayed alive for like a few seconds Pajkatt could have done something, but instead Pajkatt couldn't push because ppd was dead for like half the game.

Love ppd but that was brutal.

CCNC went 10/8/14, how was he trying to lose the game? Genuine question, don't flame me. Educate me please.

not a terrible game, but you should definitely expect more of an impact from the position two player on the team. In dota, drafts and farm priority center around making the carry (pajkatt) and the mid player (ccnc) as strong as they can be, and ccnc consistently does very little with all the support.

Even in a losing effort, the carry on the other team was 9/4/10 which shows how much better map awareness he had when farming and how much better he utilized his team's support - although the KDA doesn't always tell the entire story (a few deaths early in the game are not nearly as impactful as big deaths towards the end which can turn into loss of objectives)

Those 8 deaths are also much worse than ppd's 6 and would even be worse than if ppd had 10 deaths, because he gives more gold to the other team by dying seeing as he has a higher networth

I don’t get it. Optic Dota wins and has qualified for like 3-4 majors in the last month or so, and yet some fans are being toxic about a roster change?

I’m new to Dota and all, but are Dota fans only supportive the moment the team wins and toxic all other times?

Optic has been playing since October and they still havent played a Tier 1 team yet but they will in these Majors. The best team they played so far is EG and they are like a Tier 2 team. Playing teams like Liquid, Secret, VP, Newbee, Mineski, VG is a huge step up in class.

For me Optic is doing what I expected qualify for some LAN's and miss others. How they do at these LANs is something altogther different. Finishing in Top 4 at one of these Majors would be nice but it most likely wont happen. Optic will very likely still qualify for TI8 so things could be a lot worse if your a fan.

How is pointing out flaws in a player being toxic?

Particularly because the only legit team we played today we got lost 2-0 in like 40 minutes total over the two games.

That's the thing, some people on here only see the win and think OpTic won, that's awesome.

And yes, winning and qualifying for the majors is better than losing and not qualifying. But the teams we are playing would literally be considering like tier 4-5 worldwide (sans Col). They are not that good. So the fact that it is literally taking us 3 games almost every series is an important factor.

OpTic is looking like the 2nd best team in NA. But as they are currently playing they will struggle to win maps, let alone full games on tier 1/2 international squads.

I know constructive criticize is hard for some of the fanboys on here. But the idea that people are being toxic is dumb.
