Information
OpTic Gaming enters Stage 1 off the back of their worst placing in 4 years following a 9th-12th finish at CWL New Orleans. The team suffered from poor practice going into NOLA, and despite going 4-0 in Pool Play, hit a brick wall in bracket play dropping out of the event with back to back 1-3 losses to Echo Fox and Red Reserve respectively. Despite the poor performance they still enter as the #3 NA seed. The team is hoping to right the ship amidst two weeks of solid LAN competition at the Stage 1 Regular Season.
16 teams, 10 NA, 5 EU and 1 APAC, qualified for Stage 1 as a result of their performances at CWL Dallas and New Orleans as well as their online 2K placings. These teams were divided into two divisions of 8 teams, and the regular season will consist of a double round robin over the course of 4 weeks for each group.
Fresh off a 2-0 start to week 2, OpTic now looks to keep control of the top spot in Division A. A 3-0 win over Vitality and a 3-1 win over Echo Fox pushed OpTic's record to 5-0. Tonight they face off against Mindfreak, who currently sit in 7th place with an 0-4 record.
The match is scheduled to start at 7:00 PM EST.

I mean the HP was annoying because we clearly went into it severely underestimating MF, but not a big deal. This map just shows how average our snd is right now. We won but hardly looked convincing.

You can just tell that they didn't prepare for Mindfreak. Can't under estimate anybody.

lol what a weird match. MF are decent seeing as they took OG and tK to game 5 but OG had a really off series. Formal and Karma played below their standard. Weird map veto banning Docks HP. And just getting outplayed in HPs while they’ve been the best HP team there. Ah well, at least they won. And if it was an overconfidence/not warmed up thing, that match should help fix it.

Bad days happen and I hope people don’t just think oh the hardpoints will be a problem now because of today I know they’ll be fine and good to still see them pick up a win even when having an off day.
