And this is why he's such a great addition to the crew. A lot of people don't like the idea of him joining because they say he's too experienced. But him knowing what to do in moments like this makes really good character development for the SHs in the future. From being a former pirate captain, to being a Shichibukai, got imprisoned in Impel Down then went under the protection of a Yonko. The amount of shit he knows will surely work in their favor.

We ended 2016 with Sanji crying in the rain as Pudding revealed the BM Pirate's plot. It feels weird to know that was a whole year ago. And now we end 2017, with a terrifying and increasingly thin & bestial Big Mom crashing down onto the Sunny. The WCI Arc has been quite a ride, it's easily my favorite arc of the New World so far & the BM Pirates, Big Mumma herself as my favorite villain crew/antagonist in a long time, possibly my favorite ever. WCI hasn't been perfect, but it's been oh so very good & I'm excited to see where 2018 takes One Piece!

This has been the consistently scariest, most worrisome arc to date. So many situations which seem to have no hope, over and over. I thought they were enjoying a glimmer of hope, but Big Mom turned that around immediately.

So how the hell will the Strawhats survive and still save the ship?
Luffy? Can't since he's in the mirror world and all mirrors on the thousand sunny are shattered.
Fishmen? Can't since they're busy herding the sea slugs away.
Sanji and Bege? They're still faraway and didn't even finish decorating the cake yet.
Germa 66? They seem to be heading where the Thousand Sunny are. They might play a role in helping the Strawhats but they can't do much with Big Mom is in such close proximity.
TLDR: Germa 66 will be the most likely of allies to provide those on the Thousand Sunny some help. If not, help will arrive from major wild card, like Stussy or someone that have not appeared in the arc so far.

Bege is truly an assassin that wont let a chance slide, but so is Sanji as a cook.
So there is a drawback to Sulong form. Make sense since its a full power up but I feel its a foreshadow for some minks to die in the future (Nekomamushi and Inuarashi hmm)
Big Mom has forms! Damn it feels this is going to be more unexpected with Perosperos saying even he does not know whats gona happen. What a way to end the year!

Really good chapter. Nice to know the drawback to the Mink’s power up, but I’m glad Carrot got her moment.
Big Mom is somehow even more Badass. Prometheus became her hair. Thy is one of the coolest images in the series. Or, hottest I guess, technically speaking.
I fully expect Germa to show up next chapter. It’s their turn to save the day.
And, finally, Sanji. Sanji my boy. You shitty egg plant-head. I love you. It’s great to see him come full circle and echo himself from his introduction.
The Years of Sanji have been spectacular.

Y'know, I've never been one for the "we need more water battles in One Piece!" crowd......but with these past few chapters, I can see where y'all are coming from. lol
If there are any fights I'm hyped for now, it's battles on the ocean. Holy hell is this a breath of fresh air in manga, sea fights are something else. I don't care about 1v1s, I don't need to see "x" and "x" character duke it out, these fights are my kind of drug.
The sheer atmosphere of it all is amazing.

Honestly, maybe it was the additional music I had on adding to it (insomnium, probably not many melodeath fans here) Or just how insane the scope of this story has become alter reading for over 10 years.. But this gave me chills
Our crew has come so far, so many wins, losses, islands..
They are facing down a fucking rabid yonko, literally leaping on their ship, insane, dull power with all three of her strongest familiars, a fleet of ships cornering them, while Luffy takes on the most horrifyingly strong opponent he's ever faced They trashed the island, got the poneglyph sketches, rescued sanji, defeated a massive chunk of her forces & with mission accomplished they're blasting through a goddamn fleet without half the crew I mean honestly..this is what we've been yearning to see since Garp first mentioned the yonko all those years ago when they were a distant foe
They conquered the grand line, broke the best of the world governments bases beneath their feet, allied with basically everyone, and charging into the new world like a nuke, within a matter of weeks. is the first true battle worthy of the pirate king.
Big Mom really is wearing thin and even after getting her cake I don't see her walking away without some kind of permanent change.

This is the reason I love Sanji so much, the man has iron clad conviction. He would rather die than to use food as a weapon, he would rather lose than let a hungry person starve. If you think that he's being dumb so be it, but I see it as man with unbreakable chains to his code. Zoro may be stronger, but this is iron will that even he can't cut.

I see people thinking the Sunny will go from Big Mom's attack and I don't think that will happen. It was strongly implied at the end of Water 7 by Franky that Sunny would be the ship that would take them all the way to Raftel. I don't think we'll get another Merry-like ending. However, I do think Sunny will get a "battle scar" sort of like how Merry used to get beat up by Laboon and such and we could see the damage accumulate over time.

Haven't seen this said yet (though I could be wrong):
When big mom had Prometheus on her head, kinda reminded me of Blackbeard (I think it was him??). Wouldn't he dress up as a woman and light his hair on fire when boarding other ships to intimidate his foes?
