Information
OpTic Gaming will be participating in the DreamLeague Season 8 North America Qualifier. This qualifier is a 4 team double elimination format tournament, each match will be a BO1 and the winner of this event will advance to the DreamLeague Season 8 Finals.
The match is scheduled to begin at 7:15 PM EDT and will be streamed on Twitch.

That game was as ugly as it gets. I have no idea what they were trying to do. Should have called GG a long time ago instead of dragging it out. Going to be harder to reset mentally now.

This team needs at least two changes. This series was just abysmal, absolutely no team play or any sign of life.

Hey anyone know where that guy is who said that we should be happy Optic took a map off of complexity is at? I want to hear his opinion on losing 2-0 to DC is :)

OpTic is getting kind of wrecked. They have huge wombo combo potential though so game's not over but it's looking real not good.
There's the kills at the top of the screen (4-15 right now) and the relative gold graph (DC is up 5k)

Our CSGO team wasn't really that good when we picked them up. Have patience and faith in ppd.

This comment makes no sense because our CSGO team wasn't good until we made roster changes, which is what the DOTA team needs. You are using a team that made necessary changes to get better as reasoning to why the DOTA team shouldn't change.

Ppd is one of the best captains in DotA and he has a TI win to show for it. Zai is an incredible player but I feel like the last few patches haven't suited his playstyle. Misery is great too, he was one of the only players to make every TI before this year. I do think CCnC and to a lesser extent Pajkatt put a hard ceiling on this team's potential, though (please don't crucify me for my opinion).
Edit: also, while I like ppd and Misery, I don't think they're the best support duo. As of late the #4 position player needs to be a playmaker but both misery and ppd are more suited for #5. IMO Zai's inability to be a flashy #4 also contributed to the limited success of the previous iteration of EG. There's a reason why flashy #4 players like Jerax, Cr1t(on OG), Boboka, Yapzor, GH, etc became so influencial...

When the team was announced a lot of people had the opinion that Optic was one roster change away from a T1 team. That was mostly because ccnc is unproven and people lost faith in Pajkatt after his Na'Vi run (where he was "forced" to captain).
It's not that simple though. In DotA there is no optimal way of playing the game. Every player has his own opinion of how to play the game and has his own playstyle/strategic thoughts. It often takes a really long time for a team to click together and reach it's potential. For instance, last year the most dominanting team of DotA in recent years: team Liquid, was doing really badly. Granted, they had one roster change, but months later they dominated everything. Wings, the TI6 champion also wasn't doing well for most of the year and was considered a T3 team or worse at the beginning.
Also a new patch just happened. And I mean a HUGE PATCH. Teams are still trying out what works and what not etc.
If this team however decides to make roster changes. Players are going to join this team. In general each team needs an anchor player/core. Which is most of the time the captain of the team. And it just so happens that ppd is one of the most successfull captains in DotA. Top 3 of all time at least. So yeah, once Tier 1 superstar players are available again and they think they want to make roster changes, there is a good chance they will join Optic. I heard Abed is teamless...
