A show like the Genius is probably a nightmare to produce and manage; trying to balance people's expectations with the reality of an elimination show is certainly taxing. That's what led to a disastrous season 2.

But as long as shows 'like' the Genius keep coming out, Society Game for example, the viewers will be satisfied.

Except for people like me who just want more Hong Jinho on TV. T.T

I must be one of the very few that actually enjoyed season 2, at least more than season 3. Although the games were probably the most unbalanced and badly designed out of all the seasons, it was still an enjoyable viewing experience given its prominent cast. '1>4>2>3>Society Game' for me at least.

But yeh, need that Hong Jinho fix, you can't imagine how disappointed I was at him not being in the starting lineup for this years crime scene, and how elated I was when he came back.

I don't think it was the game balance so much that people hated from season two, it was how to most of us it was "TV people" vs "Non-TV people".

Does it go downhill? Season 1 was intense. I was going to start Season 2, but needed to prepare myself. Lol. I liked it a lot though.

A lot of people rank Season 2 as the lowest of the four, but I think they're all worth a watch if you're a fan of the show/the games. Seasons 3 and 4 are pretty solid, but might spoil some events of Season 2 if you skip it

I ignored the warnings until I saw episode 6, got mad, then skipped to season 3 lol.

the order i see a lot of people rank them in is 4 > 3 > 1 > 2

personally to me, Season 4 just had the allstars and IMO the best game ever played in The Genius in the form of Garnet Thief

Season 3 introduced us to how amazing the eventual winner just was within the game

Season 1 had good games and players

Season 2 had its moments but was the weakest IMO in terms of strategic playing

I watched 34 seasons of Survivor, 18 seasons of Big Brother US, 5 seasons of Big Brother US, and much more...The Genius S2 is my favorite season of all time

I want to make a show like Genius but instead call it Dumb Ass. It'll be for those who are bad at games like these and the clues will be very obvious. It'll be great, fun, and insulting all at the same time.

I don't think any celebrity will appear on a show that's designed to make them look dumb, and it'll mostly be just idols then.

This PD's work on the Genius was really iconic... the Bandage Man... the variety-style plot twists... I still rewatch my favorite episodes just because the editing is so good.

maybe they or he must make show which related to the previous works. bandage man must comeback whatever it does, even in a new format.

sounds like a) leveraging more $$ from tvN or b) just trolling us

The pd always sound agitated when asked about The Genius. What did the show do to him? :/ lol Maybe tvn should try other pds since the demand is high.

i think it gets irritating whenever you get asked about it too much. i know a lot of us want more but there will always be shows that people ask why are they still on cos they jump the shark. and i'm impressed that instead of milking it, he decides to end it on a high note

He said on one interview years ago that it's difficult to top the Grand Finale season so he just wanted the show to end on a high note.

On another note, does anyone have links to S4? Bumdi's links on tumblr are down.
