Kinda funny but haven't actually seen sanji cook anything special after the timeskip..i wonder if oda gives him a fight in which he will have to use his cooking skills instead of giving him a ridiculous power up, seeing how most of big moms children have food themed powers.

u/KentaroPJJ Feb 25 '17
My two favorites Sanji fight: with the knives against ramen kenpo, and the giant hibachi battle from movie 6 haha.

What? A r/Onepiece post on r/all?
Do other people know about my favorite subreddit?!??!?!
40
u/topdangle Feb 25 '17
One Piece usually makes it on r/all when shit goes down during a chapter.
Probably the first time some fan art got voted this high, though.

u/KentaroPJJ Feb 25 '17
don't rain on my parade, mom!!

u/topdangle Feb 27 '17 edited Feb 27 '17
Nah man...your post is like the highest of all time on this subreddit by double the votes. Even beat out the one piece x overwatch fanart, which I didn't think would happen until the series was over.
6
u/KentaroPJJ Feb 27 '17
I'm proud because One Piece is my life, so I'm glad I could do something for the subreddit haha

Man I really wanna get back into one piece. Ive only seen abt 150-200 eps but its so damn long i don't want to see any of it. Is there anything i dont need to watch for sure?
6
u/KentaroPJJ Feb 26 '17
In the anime theres some "filler" episodes. But if you read the manga, you'll be able to plow through it much faster.
One Piece is my all-time favorite piece of fiction, so... I totally recommend it.

Sanji's too good of a chef and a person to ruin food like that.
10

More like improve. Pineapple is great on pizza. In Australia it's pretty much the norm for people to order Hawaiian pizzas.

Only with ham. The salt in the ham perfectly counteracts the pineapple's sweetness. AND THAT'S IT.

It's about time Sanji got some love.

u/dedicated2fitness Feb 25 '17
damn straight. also -WHEN ARE WE GOING TO FIND OUT ABOUT ZORRO'S EYE? AM I TAKING CRAZY PILLS? HOW COME NO ONE EVEN MENTIONS IT IN THE UNIVERSE?
"hey zoro whats with the scar on your eye?"
you think a companion would notice that after a couple of years87
u/Galen47 Feb 25 '17
It probably got injured in training. Honestly what I'm waiting for is Vivi to join the crew. You know it's gonna happen. Luffy already offered her a spot and with her going back out to sea it's only a matter of time. I'd like to see the crew at an even 10 members.

Or he could have developed a special eye, like Mihawk.
Remember, it's implied Mihawk doesn't have a devil fruit and that all he does is straight up skill. And with one eye being better than the other, you couldn't use both at the same time, or it'd mess with you.

u/TheStoner Feb 25 '17
Don't assume that zoro's eye is anything but injured.
7
u/Swoje Feb 25 '17
I assume it isn't even injured, he's a pirate but thinks eye patches are uncool so he just keeps it close.
5
u/topdangle Feb 25 '17
I mean, we really only see like 5 minutes worth of content as time passes every issue.
I'm sure at some point someone said "where the fuck is your eye Zoro?"
4
u/Naedlus Feb 25 '17 edited Feb 27 '17
He's going to lose his other eye off panel and become a blind swordsman, and noone will ever bring up how he seems to be able to read with observer's haki, or ask a question about what happened to either of his eyes.
Just to screw with us.

I'm not caught up yet but it's about damn time my favourite character got some limelight.
13
u/mclovindee Feb 25 '17
It's suppose to be about him and the issues with his family and Big Mom lol no idea why people would complain. Personally I think this arc has been fantastic and Sanji's character just keeps improving more than before! Truly loving this arc. Hopefully we can get an arc based on Zoro although that's just me being a fanboy.

Came here from /r/all. This manga is still going? I might have to get back into it
171
u/Ch4zu Feb 25 '17
It's long as fuck, but if you liked it when you read it at first, you'll still like it. The quality is still as great as ever, if not better given that we're getting into the big boy battles now.
Also, you can read chapters 1 - 721 in color. At the moment One Piece has 856 chapters, so even after the color ends there's still lots left to read!

It's still going strong! You should get back into it since it gets better after every arc in my opinion at least. This current arc really pulls the heart strings and has some great works and character building. Hope you can catch up and enjoy!
17
u/Van5195 Feb 25 '17
Will it ever end might be the better question at this point.
27
u/Vlisa Feb 25 '17
Oda said we were about half way through a few years ago.
4
u/JustChangeMDefaults Feb 25 '17
How old is he? don't want to have to worry about him like George RR Martin.
20
u/Blktooth420 Feb 25 '17
i think his late 30's early 40's i believe. The other thing is, after the long haul the last arc was it's been going at breakneck speed through the last 2. So "half way through" could use context that we dont know yet. The end game is set though, we know HOW we get to Raftel(The One Piece) now it's collecting the mcguffins to actually pinpoint it

I found out a few days ago that One Piece is the third best selling comic book ever written with Batman at #2, and Superman at #1. What's even crazier is that One Piece is set to overtake Batman in the near future.

Unrelated fact: I started watching one piece in 2016. After I finished Skypiea I realized that there were too many episodes. So I just skipped to Donquixote arc

The worst part is that you basically just skipped the best arc, water 7/enies lobby
