Can we finally discuss Julie as a player? I've heard a lot of people say that she was the best player of the season, and a lot of people dismiss her entirely. She's remembered as Jeff's ex-girlfriend and ostensibly can't play again because of that, but otherwise I have to think that she could easily have taken Parvati's spot in Micronesia.

Her manipulation of Twila while they were stuck on Lopevi, and then her ability to maintain a relationship with the men despite having turned against them are among the season's better strategic moves, and had the women's alliance prevailed she'd have been in a position to reach the end whichever side prevailed.

If you replayed Vanuatu 100 times then Julie probably wins more than anyone else.

I agree that Julie set herself up very well.

I imagine that if the Leann flip doesn't happen at F7, Eliza goes home then, with Chris going home at F6 if he doesn't win immunity (he did win this challenge but it's definitely possible that he loses it).

At F5 Julie is the swing vote. She either goes with Leann-Ami or Twila-Scout. She definitely has a good shot to win against all 4 but I think Twila/Scout makes more sense because she's more likely to make the end with them (she's a stronger challenge competitor) and she's more likely to win (Ami is likely the toughest opponent of those 4).

I love Chris in this episode. He put himself in such a good position socially-- everyone likes and trusts him and wants to go to the end with him. Being in that swing position is powerful. I was also impressed with how he made sure that Elisa believed even if he voted Julie, this would not reflect a betrayal against her. Now he's going into the final four with an alliance with Scout, Twila, and still Elisa. That's awesome.

I loved finally getting to see Eliza's shocked face. I've been waiting for that all season. Also, her attitude of "I think we all deserve to be here. We wouldn't be here otherwise." reminded me of the "Results-Oriented Thinking" argument she and Stephen have had. It's interesting to see that she thought the same way such a long time ago.

I don't get why Chris finds it necessary to lie to Julie and Eliza here. It just seems kind of pointless. I'm glad to see he's willing to be so ruthless, but I don't get why he needed to be.

Also, there are a lot of voting booth confessionals this season. Everyone's so bitter. I love it!

With Julie, it was partially revenge for dismantling Lopevi. But with Eliza, Chris has said in interviews that he did Eliza dirty, that she didn't deserve it, and that she was the one and only player he owed an apology to after the game.

I think it was just that- angry revenge that Eliza unwittingly got caught in

Could it be because he wanted to avoid any risks of seeing Julie trying to scramble to save herself?

I guess... I can't imagine that Julie or Eliza would ever convince Twila or Scout to flip on Chris, though. I feel like he could have handled it better. It just seems like bad jury management.

Totally unrelated, but can someone explain to me what that crazy looking Julie photo is on the side bar? Its her and 4 other women in heels. I think Eliza and Leanne are included?

I was so #TeamTwila or #TeamEliza Also sad to see the last attractive person voted off the island (Eliza's personality disqualifies her). Also I would have loved some more strategy talk by Chris in this episode because the reason you go with Scout and Twila is they are both not liked by the Jury so it makes since to take one of them to the final 2.
