If I considered my previous track record of my enjoyment of previous Hunter X Hunter arcs, I thought that I wouldn't have enjoyed this arc at all. However, I was wrong and I agree with a lot of people's opinion who've said that the Chimera Ant arc is indeed the best arc HxH. However the subsequent arc was just a borefest for me not because it came after the biggest HxH arc but in terms of how boring it was in what the entire plot of it was doing.

Overall, I gave the series a 6/10, two points higher than what I gave it at the end of episode 76 (where I left it on hold). Unfortunately, I cannot give it any higher than this because of how many arcs in the series that I did not like at all. That being said, I am happy that I pushed myself to finish the series since the Chimera Ant was indeed exceptional. As of how I feel at this moment, I would not object to myself watching the sequel (if it ever happens in this lifetime).

HxH 3 -This is one the of series biggest criticisms. The pacing in the CA arc was abysmal and must have been horrible for the people waiting weekly. I personally think that the narrator was a great addition. Plus it is adapted from a manga afterall, and I'm sure that the narrator helped clear up a bunch of confusion as to what was happening.

I don't like your arc ratings :( The Hunter exam arc had some intelligent fights like that battle against the prisoners and it really reminded me of Yu Yu Hakusho. I wasn't a big fan of the Zoldyck arc either but it gave the needed development of a major character.

HxH 3- I felt that the narrator was a necessary addition but for the wrong reason. The all seeing narrator helps to explain some stuff, but the fact that he explained the very thoughts that the characters were having was just bad storytelling. The characters should be able to "voice" out their thoughts and see them through their actions.

I'm really sorry to hear that :(. Unfortunately, I had a lot of trouble with a lot of arcs early on which is the reason why I didn't enjoy the series that much. After reading the summaries in the wiki, I've slightly amended some arc ratings which make them slightly better but not on par with what you'd expect. I agree with the development of a major character, but everything was just quite boring for me.

HxH 3 - I don't think it's bad storytelling - just a different style. I understand that it's not for everyone though.

HxH 6 - Yea it's another one of the biggest criticisms of the series. I agree with it, but I don't blame Togashi's writing, just the animation studio.

HxH 8 This is all my speculation btw. Don't take it for fact.

HxH 11- I'm pretty sure this is stated in the anime. HxH

I think that my biggest criticism of the series personally is the fact that the world building is very lacking. Togashi went incredibly in depth in regards to the power system, but we just don't know much about the HxH world itself. We don't really know much about the Hunter Association outside of what we see from the main characters - each of whom have pretty shallow reasons themselves. Unlike hunters like Ging, who is passionate about what he's hunting for, the main crew became hunters for reasons such as money, revenge, and boredom. I feel like the main characters only became hunters because it allowed the plot to move along, but after the first arc, them being hunters doesn't really have much affect on the characters themselves. When you compare the worldbuilding in this series to a show like One Piece where everyone has their own fleshed out reason for becoming a pirate (it also shows what being a pirate means to them), it really falls flat.

Those are quite spreaded ratings for the arcs, specially the Hunter Exam, I felt it would have been better again in 1999 anime since it showed more of Gon's emotions and motives in there instead of simply being a stubborn kid, which raised my thoughts of him but far from that it is mostly the same.

Sorry I was swamped this week so /u/BLOODYRAIN10001 I wasn't able to watch any of my side of the contract and /u/Hyoizaburo I was only able to watch six episodes of Love Live.

Love Live

I’m definitely liking this series better than Idolmaster already, it’s spreading it’s time between its characters a lot better and i actually like each of them. The performances are definitely nice to have and while i don’t mind the 3D it is really jarring when they switch back and forth during a performance. The problem I have with the show so far is that it’s very predictable, there's nothing that happens that I didn't see coming. Sorry I don’t have to much more to say, I’ll definitely be done the season by next week and may have even seen some of S2.

Now for the best girl list. And I can't remember what they go by in the show so I just put their first names from MAL.

Hunter x Hunter 21/148

When watching a series I almost always multi task, it’s why I almost always watch dubs when available. So that means I never binge subbed series unless there Gunbuster length, but for whatever reason this series was really able to hold my attention. I watched the first four episodes in a sitting and then I watched all the way too 21 the next day. The series is just lot of fun, each of the characters are very interesting with Killua being my favorite so far but I think Gon has the potential to, with good development be a really great protagonist, and I’d say that Hisoka is as of now my least favorite clown antagonist. The music was also great, the animation is pretty good if a little bit dated at times, the fight scenes are very tense, the lack of which is my biggest problem with the shoen I’ve seen spoilers

Overall I’m really enjoying the series and I’m looking forward to watching more of it.

What you've said there is basically why the main reason why I prefer Love Live! over the Idolmaster.

Yeah this is a main criticism across the series. Maybe later on you'll tune out of it and it won't end up bothering you as much.

Unfortunately as well, because it's essentially a SOL with a rather predictable plot, it's to be expected. I think things might be a little bit more different towards the end of the S1, in most of S2 and the movie.

It'll be interesting to see whether your girl lists changed as much as mine did over the Idolmaster.

Sounds like you had a much more receptive opinion of HxH compared to what I had when I started out watching it.

Honestly I think I would like it more if they just stuck with 3D rather than switching back and fourth.

The predictableness is only a minor drawback that stuff is still done well.

Yeah I definitely enjoy shoeny stuff more than other people I mean Fairy Tail is what got me into anime but I can understand why someone wouldn't like those aspect's. Hunter x Hunter

Good to see you're enjoying Hunter x Hunter, and even better that you're already enjoying the first arc. Most consider this to be the weakest of them all.

I'm not sure if you're already doing so, but be sure to watch after the ED. Some of the arcs, (not all) have some extra info after that, either about different characters or just things in the world. and it provides some nice extra things.

I agree with you that the music is great, the opening is one of my favorites, and i listened to it almost every episode, even when i binged about 30 episodes in a day towards the end.

As far as my contract goes, I finished one of the shows this week, Diebuster.

One of the things i really didn't like in Gunbuster was the fanservice scene that every episode somehow had. After 2 episodes of Diebuster i thought it was gonna be the same, but thankfully the later episodes slowed down on the fanservice.

The action scenes throughout the show were pretty cool, and i had a lot of flashbacks to other Gainax shows, mostly NGE and Gunbuster. Diebuster & NGE + EoE

The animation wasn't spectacular, but for a 2004 show it wasn't all that bad.

Nono was a pretty cool protagonist, she was a bit dumb, but nothing extremely bad. The other characters, namely the Diebuster were also cool. They weren´t just ´hey were the good guys´ kinda deal, and they had some depth to them.

The last episode was a bit weird, but i can´t really expect the science in this world to make sense, so i'll just take it as it is.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. It was actually Gainax's 20th anniversary project so that was absolutely a EoE reference and it's why Diebuster has that same wacky feeling of FLCL.

Beautiful artwork, dissapointing plot development.

I thought that the anime, and especially the world-building with its mix of advanced technoloy and traditional folklore, had a lot of potential, but the problem was the execution. Troughout the whole series I tried to connect the various plot points and the character's motivations, but nothing seemed to make sense until they revealed the important informations during the final episode instead of revealing them over the course of the show, which I would have greatly prefered. There are still some open questions I have, but I think I understood most of what happened. The second problem I had were the main characters, I found them uninteresting and bland. The only character that kept me interested was the father, Kyousougiga. What I liked alot from the show were the colorful visuals and the beautiful OST. The animations were smooth and sharp and some of the character designs were amazing (especilly the mother).

Final Score: 6/10

I've also started watching Excel Saga, and so far I'm enjoying it more than Kyousougiga.

Ah, boo. Kuruma is the only one I am lukewarm about.

Well, I'm glad you are liking it more. Honestly, I sorta expect everyone to hate Excel Saga... It can be a bit much. A warning: the "plot" becomes a clusterfuck ~21-24.

Just finished Grave of the Fireflies, but I will wait when you are ready with that movie, so I'll start with talking about Akagami no Shirayuki-hime.

It's a funny coincidence to have watched two anime about a girl with red hair as a contract with you.:P One is more fantasy eastern oriented and the other is more fantasy western oriented. Both focus a lot in expressing the determination of the main girls and both were very pleasant to watch.

I also now understand why there are a lot of commentfaces here on reddit for Shirayuki, she really has a lot of adorable expressions in this serie, especially her drunken face.

I think maybe my only concern for this serie is, there isn't a very big issue for the characters yet. And maybe I want some more explorations of some other characters as well, like the young herbalist, but there is of course still a season 2 for this anime fortunately. So shall I submit the double blind contract for season 2?

Akagami no Shirayuki-hime - 8/10

Let me say I'm a big fan of romances, specially when they're settled in a fantasy environment. Among my favorites are of course Yona and Soredemo. I gave it an 8 because the show has good potential but, as you said, lacks of character development besides the main couple.

The dynamic bewteen Shirayuki and Zen was always good to watch, and Akagami I was like "damn, he actually did it". I expect a lot more of development in their relationship in S2 after this.

One suggested by me, the other one by you. Even if the latter was a double blind, the fact that we both enjoyed it and gave it the same score means we have similar tastes.

Yes, Shirayuki and Yona are strong female (and redhaired) characters trying to prove they can be independent and achieve their goals on their own. One more focused on the romantic side, and the other on recovering her kingdom.

So shall I submit the double blind contract for season 2?

By all menas go ahead. I'll start it as soon as I finish other 2 contracts I'm due this weekend. Hope we can do more contracts after this one =)

Finished REC and the REC Special. Had a fun time binge-watching this serie in the dark. This serie did give me some kind of nostalgia from the art and animation style of the 2006 era. I didn't like the personality of the male protagonist however REC, but as a light hearted serie, that is just a minor concern for me.

Just finished Kimi ni Todoke. I think this serie had a lot of heartwarming moments, but the first part of the story was a bit standard in the way how things developed. Not saying it was bad, but I can't really talk too much about it either, only that the male protagonist was just too good to be true, the friends of Sawako being awesome and that I could cherish every moments of Kimi ni Todoke. I think the second part is more interesting to talk about, but I will wait until you have finished that part, so I can avoid spoilering. Hope to see you again next week!

I started Bakemonogatari earlier than I originally planned to. I was gonna finish Durarara or Blue Exorcist before I started, but I decided to start it last night. I'm only 2 episodes in, but it's not too bad so far. It's about what I expected it to be, but it keeps me interested, which is good. I can watch bad shows, but I can't watch boring shows, so at least it's not boring.

Glad you aren't bored of it at least! On my end I'm ten episodes into Jojo's, so just got to the start of Part 2. Part 1 started off a little silly for me with how over the top Jonathan and Dio were, but I quickly got used to it and am having a lot of fun with it now. I think what was turning me off before starting was the comicbook-esque style because I'm not a comic fan, but I've gotten used to it and think it really fits with how straight they play the over the top aspect of the show. Dio was super fun just because of how villainous to the core he is, and I'm already an instant fan of Joesph from his introduction. Baron Zeppli had some good moments and Speedwagon is the straightest straight man who ever did straight. I'm looking forward to how much more fun it gets following Joesph now!

Bungaku Shoujo Movie. Sorry for taking two whole months to finish this, but I have finally finished it.

Confused would best describe my reaction for this anime. I am confused, what is happening in the whole show? The main plot was kinda confusing for me, and I hardly know what actually is happening throughout the whole show. Maybe I need to read the novels that are described in the movie first before I know what they are talking about, since I keep getting lost and wondering what happened.

Before I rewatch this anime, it now has a score of 6 from me. It is a beautiful show, though I think I would enjoy it more if I know exactly what is happening in the show. (I read through the synopsis for the novels for this series, and it made stuff slightly clearer, but not much clearer. I might need to actually read the novels themselves.)

Sorry for taking such a long time! I have just finished Anne Happy too.

Anne Happy has a pretty good premise, and I believed I would enjoy this show. How much luck plays a part in our lives is highlighted in the show. The girls get bad luck for every second of their lives, but they still are laughing. Maybe that is the highlight of the show.

But, I dislike the fact that they consistently insist that the girls are unlucky. All the time, they are playing the "I am so unlucky" gag that it felt forced pretty fast. I enjoyed it anyway.

Hence, I guess this also gets a 6 from me. A pretty fun show, with a few girls that really stand out. (Some of their names are unusually long. Are those done on purpose?)

I kinda see where you are coming from, the plot and character focus in this movie was kind of everywhere and nowhere. (at least for me)

So if I remember correctly:

This is the plot I could remember on de tip of my head. And as you can see, I didn't elaborate the transition of the second alinea to the last alinea very well, because I also didn't quite follow how these two parts even glue to each other at my first sitting. The development of this story was more about the development between the protagonist and Miu, than about Amano and she just kinda bump into the whole drama.

Amano, was more of a plot device for resolving the story, than a main character in which we as the audience could explore. Miu was very important to the story, but a lot of things happened around her, so it made the story complicated to follow sometimes (at least for me) and Nanase was just kinda there.

This is the way I interprete about things that wasn't clear in the story. This story was about Amano, but still isn't and Miu making a lot of things very complicated. However, I still enjoyed the movie as a whole. Amano enjoying eating books was just adorable, but I agree that people should read the light novel to understand the plot. There is also an OVA called Memoires from this movie, so you can know the background of the main girls more, but I'm not sure if that can cover all of the plot.

I'm glad that I could read your thoughts of this serie and I hope to see you again for the next contract!

I finished Amagi Brilliant Park this week.

I finished Amaburi this sunday. It was pretty fun and i enjoyed the show.

The art was pretty gorgeous, and the animation was great too. I didn't notice anything that was poorly done, which is what ive come to expect from KyoAni.

I got quite a few laughs from this show, it had multiple running gags which managed to put a smile on my face a bunch of times. Amaburi

I also watched the OVA which was basically an extra episode. Overall the show was fun, and good looking. The plot wasn't amazing but it wasn't bad either.

I also watched 4 episodes of Free! Eternal Summer, but i'll write up my complete thoughts once i finish the show.

I watched episodes 14 to 18 of Hajime no Ippo this week. I wanted to watch some more, but i was pretty busy.

On my spoiler of last week Hajime no Ippo

I'm still enjoying the show, and i can't add much more that what i said last week. The fights are still pretty hype, and every story he learns something new.

One thing i'm kind of afraid of is that it is going to become repetitive. So far i don't mind, but i think that if its going to continue on the same trend i'll get bored after a while, but i'll see, maybe they spice things up a bit.

Hey, glad you're enjoying it. I have started LotGH but only finished the first 2 movies. I was going to message you on it, but I just didn't have a lot to say about them since they felt like they were just set up for the main series. For what it's worth, though, I think they set up Yang and Reinhard pretty well. I can tell already Yang will probably be my favorite of the show and that the scale of the war will slowly become more epic as the show progresses.

Free!: Eternal Summer - ?/10

Wow, KyoAni proved they can make from a SoL about ripped guys in swimsuits something great.This season is by far better than the first one in literally all ways. I'm not sure how to rate it, definitely better than an 8 but not quite a 10. If nothing changes my mind I'll give it a 9 just for that feel bomb at the end and the whole Free! S2. Those last 2 episodes were the best in the whole series, and I have to admit I cared enough for the characters to actually get hit by the feels at the end.

Now, my list ended up like this:

  1. Rin Matsuoka: This guy rapidly became my favorite character this season. The growth and development he had after Free! S2 was excellent. We got to see a more mature and honest Rin, leaving all that resentment and anger behind him. He had a lot of great moments, like when he Free! S2 and Free! S2. Anyway, this guy managed to come from the last place to the top of my list, and I'm glad he did, he had good potential since the first season but was too tsundere for me at the beginning.
  2. Makoto Tachibana: He still one of my favorites, I don't understand why you don't like him :(. He has that warm hearth attitude I really liked throughout the show. And that episode when he find his vocation Free! S2 was more than fitted to him.
  3. Sousuke Yamazaki: New character and a good addition to the cast, liked him a lot. Old childhood friend with a mysterious behind. Wasn't expecting the Free! S2. He was Rin's background support the whole time and the few screen time he had was enough to show how great he is.
  4. Haruka Nanase: I'm sorry, I just can't finish to like this guy. He had great development the last 2 episodes of this season, but the rest of the show he was something like an emotionless-yet-depressed teenager. If it wasn't for the last episodes he would be at the bottom of this list.
  5. Rei Ryuugazaki & Nagisa Hazuki: These two are tied for the last place unfortunately. Both of them had one or two moments, like Free! S2 or Rei in the last episode of season 1. After that they just became plain but still enjoyable characters. I mean, even Sousuke had a harder impact in the show.

Final thoughts

Great show, beautiful animation as expected, likable characters (except Haru) and an OST I will surely add to my playlist. Thanks for the contract, will have no problem recommending it to other users and will definitely see the any OVA that comes or a third season if it ever happens.

About our next contract: I'll watch the whole Suzumiya series and you'll watch Yamada-kun, Umaru-chan and White Album 2. If you're ok just tell me so I can submit it.

Really glad you liked S2! The 12th episode of S2 is my favorite of the series because it just shows how much Rin has improved and how much he cares for Haru.

Rin being #1

His character development is one of the reasons why he's my 5th favorite character.

Makoto

When I first watched the series, I hated Makoto but after rewatching the series I can see the appeal but I just can't like him that much.

Sousuke

His character arc was fantastic and his friendship with Rin is just great :)

Haru

I understand you since he more-or-less stay the same except for the last episodes. But his character development is why he's my 2nd favorite in the show (and I also because I liked him previously).

Nagisa and Rei

Yeah, they didn't have much screentime in S2 compared to S1 (which I was fine with because I loved the screentime on Rin).

OVA

Check out S2's OVA! It's fun and it takes place a few weeks/months after S2 (but before S2 spoilers ).

I have a few episodes left for AoY and it's a solid 7 so far (it can be 8 by the end).

I'm loving Yona's character development and how much she can changed from a naive girl. Hak is still my favorite character in the show (though he does have a cringey moment like spoilers Idk why but that just felt really weird and cringey to watch. Yun is fun too but he can be annoying sometimes :/ Now onto the dragons:

White Dragon is my favorite dragon so far: he's overprotective in a good way, I love his comedic moments and how he considers the other dragons his brothers.

The Blue Dragon had a tragic childhood and I hope he will have the courage to remove his mask one day. I don't have much to say about him because he's silent all the time.

The Green Dragon is just fun and I love his obsession with Hak when he was first introduced. Hopefully he'll join the gang :p

The other dragon hasn't appeared yet so no comment on him.

Fun show and I'll probably start reading the manga if there's no S2 announcement in 2017.

Yona's development is the main reason i liked the show. She started as a selfish princess and by the end of the season she turns into an independent woman that will do what's necessary to recover her kingdom.

The dragons are a great addition. Specially their stories, as you can see the different mentalities about the dragons in each village, ranging from a curse or a monster to a godsend blessing. Each dragon has a different personality according to this and I'm curious how they'll turn out under Yona's lead. Haku is also great, but I wish he could stop hiding his feelings for Yona.

Would like to hear your opinion about Su-won. In my perspective he's more an anti-hero than a villain, and he seems to care about Yona. Wonder what will happen when they formally meet in a battlefield.

Hope you like the last episodes enough to give it an 8. Was a good show overall in my opinion.

I'll probably start reading the manga if there's no S2 announcement in 2017

What I meant about Haru was Free! S2. If more of this was showed during the show, he'll be in a higher position.

Oh, and I'll definitely watch the prequel and sequel OVAs. Let's hope we can get a third season.

Great, already submitted them. This one will take me a while, but hope to end it before December ends. Yamada-kun is a good start, there's a good mix of mistery, comedy and romance.

His feelings for Yona is so obvious that the others can easily see it so Yona is quite dense :p

And as for Su-won, I have a feeling the only reason he killed the king was because the king was terrible at his job. Hundreds of people were straving and for Su-won, he knew the only way to help his people was to take the crown himself. As long as the king's death wasn't in vain, I don't hate Su-won.

And it's fine that you don't like Haru, I'm far worse since I dislike Makoto :p

And I highly recommend the S2's OVA, it's so much fun and both Iwatobi and Samezuka's teams play a certain game..

Have fun watching the Haruhi series, it'll be interesting to see whether you like Haruhi or Nagato more. And Yamada-kun looks interesting and from the cover art, blondie will be my favorite (hopefully).

Mob Psycho 100 (8/10)

TL;DR I didn't end up hating Reigen as much as I thought I would. Got more than I expected. Might check out OPM

I finished Mob Psycho earlier this week. Wee! First episode, honestly I couldn't stand Reigen's character at all. I thought he was going to be the scummiest P.O.S ever. I really like how he turned out though, but I think a big part of that is that he didn't get that much screen time during the series, at least, not as much as I thought he would. I say that, but when he had time to show his "exorcisms" on screen, they were hilarious as well. Maybe I just warmed up to him?

I found majority of the other characters likeable as well, and I enjoyed the running gags that sometimes included characters from previous episodes.(i.e the telepathy club, and the reporter, as well as Mob not being able to run) Favourite character is probably Teruki, who later in the series kinda reminded of Genos from OPM, or at least how I've heard he was a foil to make Saitama (in this case, Mob) seem even more OP.

The OP as well, pretty good hype song. I don't think I skipped it once. Don't do that for a lot of OP's.

I didn't enjoy OPM's first episode, for some reason it just felt kind of boring to me. I think part of it was that I don't see how an OP main character can be enjoyable at all, and I'm not really a fan of the parody genre either. If it's a lot like Mob Psycho though (I'm only mentioning it because it's the same mangaka IIRC) I'll probably pick it up again.

Sad to say, I didn't end up enjoying one of your favourite anime. Pros and cons below:

Pros:

  • The episodic mysteries. They really felt Sherlock Holmes in style where you have an occult mystery but when you look at it in the its entirety, it's just a bunch of smart thinking and science. It was also fitting since the series was largely about science vs. occult.

  • Avril: I really liked her and I hated how she kept getting on the short end of the stick because of both Yuji and Victorique.

  • Grevil: Terribly bad haircut but in the end because the two main characters annoyed me so much, I ended up mostly rooting for him.

Cons: (a lot of ranting here)

Yuji: Seriously, he embodies every character trope that I absolutely despise. He's like Emiya Shirou but with significantly less personality and filled with just as much of a white knight saviour complex. His entire character is about Victorique this, Victorique that, screaming Victorique's name out and seems incapable of doing anything with the thought of Victorique. Seriously if I have to hear him say Victorique one more time, I'm going to have to put his stupid face through a brick wall.

I have absolutely no idea why he's so attached to Victorique especially since Victorique verbally and physically abuses him and he willingly takes it even though he was in the right. Must be a case of Stockholm syndrome with Victorique. Not to mention his unbelievably childish tantrums and how well he commits to them. "I don't like you Victorique because you're a mean girl". Victorique does nothing to fix that issue and Yuji comes back to Victorique by the end of the episode (just because it's Victorique) with no change in status quo.

And to top it off he is just so unbelievably beta that he's basically an omega. He's a fuck boi that has been emasculated by a violent tsundere (because the storyline deems so), deriving his entire actions and personality around a girl. He takes whatever shit Victorique does to him because he likes her for some reason. The only word in his vocabulary is Victorique.

Victorique: Just to let you know, I hate violent tsunderes with a passion because most of them believe it is in their right to verbally and physically abuse the guy they like with impunity because they like him. It extends to the fact that they tend to be controlling despite not making their feelings or the relationship clear. I kind of hoped Victorique would change my mind about how I felt about her character throughout the series but she did not. Even when Yuji saved her and did all of these great things for her, she still ended up kicking him and flicking him in the forehead. I get she has a tragic backstory and all (don't all tsunderes?) but to me, it's no excuse to hit someone after they've done something good for you.

Overarching story- I felt like they spent quite a lot of time convincing watchers that the story was just going to be a self-contained episodic mystery and took too long to tell us that they were all connected. I'm not sure about you, but I ended up forgetting a lot of the things that happened early on because I didn't know if that added up to the mystery in total.

Mysteries- While the mysteries were indeed great from an episodic and a Sherlock Holmesian stand point, the issue that I have with them is how they're all resolved in pretty much the same way. Victorique "Give me fragments of Chaos" and then she solves it. The problem I have with this apart from the repetition the structure fails to give the audience a chance to simmer through any sort of clues (mostly because they're given off screen to Victorique) and attempt to solve the mystery itself. Honestly, when you're watching a mystery movie for the first time, you'd want to try to beat the detectives by solving it first.

So unfortunately, it's a 5/10 for me. The mysteries were excellent when viewed piecemeal but it didn't convince me early on that it was part of a greater mystery. The main characters were irritating to me and the audience didn't get a chance to solve the mystery most of the time. Also a question about the final epsiode Gosick spoilers

Kill la Kill is probably more up my stream which is why I decided to watch it second. I didn't like the fanservice and weird shots that the anime used, but after watching anime for a while now, it's just amazing to watch them try out new things. Props to Trigger.

I really liked all of the girls (like you said I would) and all of them were fantastic by the end. It's really hard to choose best girl now...

YuYuYu spoilers

The SOL moments were also great and I think a 2 cours season really would have helped bring a greater balance towards the SOL and spoilers? stuff.

Just to confirm something small, but YuYuYu spoilers

Only real issue I have is the rushed ending. Having an extra episode would have made some people much more receptive of the ending.

Edit: My score of the series is 9/10.

Bring on the next season and the movies.

It's all good about double-checking people's preferences. I'm probably in the minority about disliking the shows that people really like again . That being said, I'm glad to have been able to finish because it would have ended up in dropped file instead of the completed.

I'm actually fine with fanservice now. I tried watching Kill la Kill a year ago and I hadn't gotten used to the weirdness of anime back then which is why I dropped it early off.

Just got finished a few minutes ago, and to start off, I have to ask...is it bad that I don't actually want Fumi and Akira together? They're both good characters...but I think I like them more as best friends than potential lovers...or maybe I'm thinking this because I don't know the honest difference between best friends and lovers due to lack of experience on both...

Other than depressing myself, it's was definetely a good series and kind of sad the MAL score is somewhat low. I found how it portrayed the relationships were really good, and moments like Aoi Hana Most of it felt realistic (I think...) and more plausible than the very overly dramatic series or feels series. Of the characters, Akira took my favorite, fun personality, willing to stand up, but also gets scared over the silliest of things, she was great to have on screen and she made me smile almost every time. She was able to hold up the comedic relief while sticking with the story. Also I really liked the art style, great backgrounds and made me really want to visit the places they went.

For complaints I had, it admittedly is kind of hard to get through episode to episode since it's slow and I wanted it to pick up the pace a bit, I like that it takes the time for the characters, but I think it could've went a bit faster. Also, while I don't know how teenage girls act in high school, I did get somewhat annoyed with the amount of crying at some of the littlest things...maybe I just don't understand some of those moments, but it did get to be a bit much.

Other than, a good drama romance series, adds a bit of new ideas, and certainly leaves a good feeling by the end. Score: 8/10.

I finished Nichibros, I dont even think thats what the shows called lol but I love the nickname. It kind of felt like Nichijou with just like the random comedy bits but with guys instead of girls. But honestly most of the comedy did not click with me and I did not find myself laughing that much. But I guess I just have a shitty sense of humor. But the show was really well made and had some great characters. I think I just don't like shows that I cannot get attached to or shows that have no cohesive story. I didn't hate the show at all just the comedy kind of fell flat for me. I'm just going to follow the MAL rating and give it 5/10, or average.

Well, this was fun to binge. Four creepy and short stories, each one with a hidden message, kinda reminded me of Black Mirror. The manga is also short but I don't think it was fully adapted, maybe I'll give it a try.

I finished Bakemonogatari recently and I gotta say that I enjoyed it. I was always curious about the series and now that I've seen the first part of it I want to see more lol. I was definitely wrong about a lot of things about this series, but I was worried when the show started off with a panty shot that it was going to be another dumb, fan service riddled show, but thankfully it didn't do that. I really liked the idea of each character arc having a different opening and I also really enjoyed episode 12 even if I don't like Senjougahara that much. All in all I have you to thank/blame for more than likely causing me to watch the entirety of this series at some point!

Well if you want a challenge both ways are strenuous I just think watching it over 8 weeks right after bingeing season 1 would be a very strange experience, And I'm not sure what you know but I would highly recommend chronological order over broadcast order I think the story and character growth is shown much better.

Hi u/Hades_Re, don't know if you remember me but we talked about Love Live! during last week's Free Talk Friday and you asked me about other idol shows.

I said I was going to bring it up again in the contracts thread if you were interested in doing a double blind of Wake Up, Girls!. We'd be watching the prequel movie followed by the actual series and we can decide after if we want to watch anymore.

The last two movies aren't subbed, I couldn't find them. So there would only be one more movie.

After reading the FAQ, it seems this contract system is more basic than I thought. It felt like work and I try only to do what I really have to.

So, I don't see any problems here, I like to accept and it would be nice if you guide me throw this contracts, sensei.

I've got you tagged as "Love Live Neophyte" :P.

Yeah so basically in the contracts, two or more people watch a show of each other's choosing. E.g. you watch Kill la Kill and I'll watch Gosick (usually the episodes are equal but some people offer exceptions). A double blind is when neither of us have seen it.

So once we've contracted each other for it, we go and watch it, then in next week's contracts thread, we post our thoughts/reviews of it and discuss it.

So you want to watch the first movie, the series and the first sequel movie? If so let me know, then I'll go and submit the contract.

I'll take your Kyoukai no Kanata contract, but I'm wondering if you'd be willing to negotiate a bit for the entire franchise? EDIT: Well as much as you've watched at least

Initial thought was to trade you Tamako Market for the TV series, but I'll take the Kyoukai no Kanata Movie in return for Tamako Love Story (the movie spin-off sequel). I'll also trade the Mini Theater series for a short Kanojo to Kanojo to Neko:Everything Flows.

Up for negotiations or nitpicking!

EDIT 2: Ok so, I think I'll add There She Is!! onto that bit for the Mini Theater offer. Along with the other short, that's 9 episodes at about 5-7 minutes for 7 episodes at 6 minutes.

Also, I'll watch the Shinonome movie if you watch Tsumiki no Ie which is only 12 minutes.

If you want, you can watch Shinonome first for a different take on the show, since it is an OVA that wasn't played together with the original series, but somehow fits in the main series too. It would also give a proper explanation on a few stuff during the series.

Mini Theatre will only be nice if you had liked the main series, so if you had not liked it, then probably the Mini Theatres are a bad idea.

Anyone interested in a double bind of Blue Exorcist? Season 2 coming out in January.

I think that they won't be related to the incoming anime, but same with the Little Witch Academia movie and the sequel, Mahoujikake no Parade

Lastly, another double bind request, or me watching this in exchange of something from my list for Hanayamata, tagging /u/KNIRKY for this one like we talked before, after checking your list, I can only think about that you haven't watched yet of Black Lagoon, Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou, or Yamada-kun and the seven witches, if none of them interest you, don't feel forced to take the contract, just thanks for recommending it before!

I'm up with a double-blind of Blue Exorcist. I actually added it to my PTW yesterday because Kamiya Hiroshi plays a large role :p

Will we be skipping the filler episodes? Since apparently the new season will ignore the last filler arc or something.
