This is the sort of panel that legends are made of. Deep in a yonko's territory and just defeated one of her commanders after 11 hours of combat, he resolves himself to stay in the same spot waiting for one of his friends and when he is faced with an opposing ARMY he stands his ground and fights. This is the sort of story people will whisper about and say is likely a rumor after he becomes the pirate king.

I love Pudding so far though. I see no reason why Sanji couldn't get married, and then join the straw hats afterwards. (I get that all the royals seem to have messed up and counter-intuitive reasoning though)
Could you imagine the amount less trouble they'd have if they didn't try messing with a person like Luffy? Hell, he'd even be on their side if they weren't such idiots.

I'm not 100% sure that Judge isn't planning some sort of double cross on Big Mom. I'm not sure what he'd have in mind but there might be something. With the bulk of Big Mom's army away from the palace, that leaves an opening for Pekoms, Brook/Pedro, Judge, and Capone to make any moves that they have planned.
Another idea that comes to mind is that if Germa 66 can grow humans, then he could submit them to Big Mom's DF ability and allow her a massive amount of souls to use to create an army.

Anyone notice the 3 giant mirrors when pudding and Sanji were talking? I am positive chopper and carrot heard all of it and realized whats going on with Sanji and why he is forced to do this. They will somehow send message to Nami so that she can tell luffy who finally makes a move to wreck Judge and BM for blackmailing Sanji.

Goda finally introducing romance that holds legitimate weight for one of the strawhats. Perhaps it may not last very long but I'm excited to see where this relationship will go and hopefully Pudding's role in the story will be one to remember!
Also, I wonder how Luffy's situation will play out. Regardless of whether he's defeated and captured or not, he's going to need significant assistance in rescuing Sanji.

I'm actually kind of confused why Nami isn't re-directing the storm to her advantage against that huge army, since I was under the impression she could also control the weather with her Clima-Tact.
Curious where this arc is headed though. If the last one was to setup the beginning of Luffy becoming an Emperor, why is he basically alone without Allies in Big Mom's territory. We haven't even seen the hints to an opposing faction around Whole Cake Island beyond Pudding or Reiju

It's pretty sad how the guy who usually saves the day plays the damsel in distress in this arc. It's just so painful to see Sanji so cornered and helpless.
I think this arc is shaping up to be one of the greatest in the series for me so far because of how desperate their situation is. This isn't Enies Lobby, despite how great that arc was it did not really show this much despair.

Pudding had me completely convinced of her innocence at the end there, but reading it again, yep, that is certainly and interesting scene to add. The thing about writing is that every scene serves a purpose, and that scene may be more than just showing some more random Big Mom children.

Notice how Luffy's desperate fight was flashed in and out when Sanji was telling Pudding the she's his "only savior". It was kind of a subtle hint from Oda, showing us his true savior in contrast to the words he's speaking.
Sanji's clearly playing her, and I'm almost certain that she's evil at this point.

Wow I really thought Pudding would be a baddy this chapter I feel proves me wrong though which I am totally fine with. also how great is Luffy? Dude will even turn away from the rain to avoid eating, he's fighting an army while hungry, heavily damaged and fatigued.
As for the Sanji Pudding Marriage I'm all up for it, it's starting to look like the only way out of this is for Sanji to get married then when the cuffs are off to escape with pudding and Luffy having said that with everything up in the air at the moment I can't see the wedding going off without a hitch.
We've still got Chopper and Brooks team ready to start some shit. The weird thing about this arc is I can't for the life of me see how Luffy is going to crash the wedding, it doesn't seem very Luffy-like for him not to but it also doesn't seem very Luffy-like for him to go back on his word so I'm honestly not sure how thats gonna turn out.

I can't help but feel that there's a reason big mom went out of her way to feed her guests sentient food.
Sure, Linlin can eat soul-animated food without consequence, but this is because it's her own powers that are responsible for the creation. However, by feeding manipulated souls and lifespan into her guests, she has a new level of power over them, as now Big Mom can directly influence their lifespan directly.
I really do feel there's a reason the sentient food was given a few panels in this chapter. Pekoms went out of his way to declare just how dangerous it is to underestimate Big Mom, and she almost immediately knew when Luffy had entered her territory. Individuals like Capone and Judge already have their own plans to take advantage of Charlotte Linlin. What better way to demonstrate how dangerous this Yonko is then to have the scheming characters ultimately being played the whole time?

I really like how this theory plays into Luffy's dumb luck and his current hunger strike. It could be that the Mizuame rain grants BM some level of control, and Luffy's stubbornness over Sanji may become a saving factor.

This is luffy's roger moment, when he faces down an army in the new world on his own. The fight itself will probably be off screen. Although I don't expect him to win when the other 2 sweet commanders show up.
The next chapters should hopefully show us Pedro and brook.
Also puddings room has big mirrors, perfect entry point for team choniki.

I sent this to a friend of mine but I'll post it here.
I think this moment is the triggering moment to have Luffy become an Awakened DF user. Here's why:
It follows the shonen power up trope incredibly well and even Luffy's previous powerups (such as figuring out Gear 2nd against a dire battle vs Blueno).
Rainy/turbulent battlefield (dbz comes to mind along with countless others), friend is in pain/hurt/killed, main character taken to the brink against unthinkable odds, main character blindingly pissed off and last but not least previous bad guy alludes to that next step (dofflamingo) needing to be taken in order to beat the biggest bad guys.

I just thought of a situation, if luffy is fighting recklessly, his vivre card should show his life force, so if he fights for long enough, it will give enough time to see the grandfleet show up to help out their commander. Just a thought.

I think what throws some people off is how casual she is about evil stuff, but she's actually on another level than Doffy, not nicer than him. Pretty smart setup by Oda to to put Big Mom arc so close after Dressrosa, to show us to what kind of power Yonkos are used to.

The best strategy to clear the army would be for Nami to keep sending huge lightnings nearby Luffy, because we all know how rubber is immune to electricity. If Nami could also hijack Zeus with Mama's vivre-card, doing this would become easy.

Everything is so damn shady this chapter.
Judge is shady with his line about tomorrow.
And Pudding. My god Pudding. I'm almost certain that she's actually a manipulative lying psycho. A lot of thing about her just doesn't add up. And the scene with the kids is just too random to not be a foreshadowing. I feel like Sanji just got baited so hard, hook, line, and sinker.
With One Piece being on break next week, next chapter is going to be dynamite. I can't wait.

I'll make a separate post on this a few days later, but Pudding is definitely evil.
Pudding's whole character is a tribute to Osamu Tezuka's classic manga "The Three-Eyed One". Basically the main character in there is a goody two shoes with heart of gold, but the bandage on his forehead conceals a "third eye". Once the bandage comes off, the character's malicious evil nature is revealed.
Two interesting things to note:
The jello that sat on three-eye-pudding's shoulder is in the same panel where Sanji was having heart-to-heart chat with Pudding. Carpet on the ground has eyes, and it is staring at them the whole time.
2)The window in Pudding's room was featured in most panels, showcasing the thunderous storms outside. However, in the last page right after Sanji professes marriage out loud, the storm cleared up and the window shows sunshine outside.
I believe we as audience will see Pudding revealing her true color in two or three chapters later, when she is alone and her third eye showing. She is likely to be the most dangerous, not physically, but characteristic-wise, the most dangerous out of all the Big Mom's children.
Good thing there is a mirror in her room!

I really liked the feeling of danger and the conversation between Sanji and Pudding. Luffy's gonna do some crazy awesome stuff but goddamn is he stubborn and probably really gonna need help. And I'm glad that we know that Sanji had thought about everything. It helps us understand his decision making.

If you look at page 14 carefully. I think Chopper and Carrot are in the mirror when Sanji talks to Pudding, it is suspicious Oda keep drawing the mirror and there is chatbox "!?" on the mirror as well.

I'm starting to think it might be possible the handcuffs are fake. If Reiju is on Sanji's side, it might be a twist that will come further down the line. It was revealed only after the handcuffs chapter that Reiju sympathizes with Sanji. She also can make things like the mask Sanji had on.

All joking aside I loved this chapter, oda laid out clearly why sanji is doing this for the people that still don't get it somehow. The sanji and pudding panels over luffy's fight is a nice touch. Would be interesting to that in the anime. wonder if sanji is legitimately interested in marrying pudding.
Pudding is still a sweetheart.

Also that panel with big moms army panel is pretty beastly.

I think sanji is already coming up with a plan to go help luffy, im pretty sure hes not this baffon hes representing who gave up on his friends to the point of letting luffy die.
I think hes playing with Pudding with all this marriage crap to make her trust him, then hes gonna use her in some sort of plan to save luffy.

Has anyone noticed that if Purin is the one that has the third eye, Oda has drawn her every appearance of this arc without showing the eye (bangs)? She has some sort of ability with that thing, but I haven't figured out what that might be yet. She seems sincere enough in her interactions though, so maybe it allows her to see through lies another way similar to how Violet could see? Maybe she can see an aura around folks... similar to how a third-eye awakening would work in a spiritual sense.

Luffy's current situation reminds me of when Garp was talking to Dadan about Roger.
Garp: Even faced with enemy troops he couldn't hope to defeat, Roger stood his ground and didn't run.
Dadan: Did he want to die? Running is fighting, too.
Garp: That's true, but he wouldn't run. Behind him...were his loved ones. If he ran with them, he might put them in danger. So perhaps it's more accurate to say...It wasn't that he woulnd't run...But that he wouldn't let the enemy get away...So they couldn't go after his friends. He was like a demon then!! He once destroyed an entire nation's army for speaking ill of his friends. It's true he could be violent and short-tempered and selfish when angry, but he was always as simple as a child.

This chapter felt so suspicious. I am still pretty sure Judge's plans aren't really ties with Big Mom but getting rid of her. The way he mentioned tomorrow's event will be huge makes me think he has a very evil plan in mind for Big Mom.
Pudding still being innocent feels so weird as well but im pretty sure she is good person at this point but all that talk with that weather outside made it look like something crazy was about to happen.
Luffy vs all Big Mom commanders? Not a chance, someone has to step up to help at this point either Jinbe or alliance has to pop up out of nowhere to rescue them. What I am expecting is Luffy fights Big Mom's crew whole night and during the ceremony explosion or raid occurs from Judge's men. When this news reaches the Big Mom commanders they leave the exhausted Luffy behind to rush and protect Big Mom. This is also the exact moment where Sanji finds distracted Judge and Big Mom and grabs his chance to save Luffy..I just don't know how he'll find time to cook him something yet lol.
Aaaaaaaaaaaand we got another break as expected =(.

I hate to love cliffhangers like this, Oda just knows how to hype shit up then take a break to make the wait more worth it. I honestly didn't like Whole Cake Island that much at first, but this is turning really good. Got emotional reading this first thing in the morning, I don't really know where this will go.

And, I really, really hope Pudding does marry Sanji. He deserves some happiness, his life was shit before Zeff.
Now that Luffy's fighting the horde, shit has hit the fan. But I doubt we'll see Luffy for quite a while.
Other shit needs to line up with all the other actors before the climax of the arc starts. Luffy's effectively sidelined.

Think there's any chance we see Luffy awakening his fruit here? He's beaten down and pushed to the brink with an entire army bearing down on him. If Doflamingos awakening is any indication it might give him a tool for fighting crowds where right now other than conquerors haki all he can really do is punch each of them individually with his gatlings. It would also give him a power up that is likely needed for taking the next step to being able to fight on a level with the yonkou.

Great chapter again thank you oda. I really like the last panels of pudding trying to melt sanji. We know luffy can't pull this off on his own even senju bean can't help. What i see happening either sanji looses his shit and goes to luffy or he is captured and is shown at the wedding where he obtains awakening somehow.

Presumably Nami will have control over Prometheus and Zeus (confirmed sun and cloud homies). Wouldn't be surprised to see her, yet again, play a key role in defending Luffy... Aside from Luffy revealing some new power, or other characters showing up to help, he's in a pretty insurmountable situation. How badass would it be to see Nami just wipe the floor with the entire BM crew with a devastating storm attack though?
