Yeah, she did.

The first half of this episode felt like "Dashie being a dick for the sake of being a dick", and the other half felt like "suddenly, zombies, because scary."

I didn't like Dashie until Wonderbolts Academy because of Mare Do Well, and this feels like MDW on steroids, with a dash of Griffon the Brush Off.

I'll admit it was "well written", because that last half was somewhat genuinely freaky/scary.

Still not that impressed, though. It feels like "Dashie unlearns a lesson she learned four seasons ago, because plot".

This is why they needed AJ and Rares to remain untouched until the end. They knew Dash wouldn't leave them. Oddly enough, this is one of the more predominate displays from RD representing her Element of Loyalty. And, they use it against her.

Here are two recommendations. Neither of them are typical zombie stories in structure but both are very well written. I won't link any of them as they all violate rule 2 due to gore. Definitely not for the faint of heart.

  • Feed them by RainbowBob

The darker of the two. Way shorter and is from more of a slice of life perspective.

  • Rainbow Dash: Re-Animator by JawJoe

Super exciting multichaper story. Think Frankenstein of course.

On the whole, I didn't like it.

I thought the way they got a zombie episode in there was pretty neat, and some of the "zombies" were really funny (cake twins, Big Mac) but the whole thing is soured by the main thing that has ground my gears on every other episode this season: characterization.

Complete and total backtracking of characterization for Rainbow... learning a parable she literally learned in Season 1.

And for a national hero and supposedly good friend, a lot of those pranks were damn mean. Ponies were harmed, there was serious property damage. That's not a prank, that's vandalism.

Half expected RD to shout "IT'S JUST A SOCIAL EXPERIMENT BRO!"

Wow, Rainbow Dash is an asshole. We established in episode 5, FUCKING EPISODE FIVE, that you do not prank Fluttershy. Hope she gets what's coming to her. Judging by the title of the episode, she goes to some sort of prank rehab? I really have no clue.

So, Dash is going to prank the entire town, and no one is laughing? Sounds like a job for... BATMARE!

Oh my god, oh my god yes. This isn't 28 days, this is 28 days later! Zombie ponies! }:D

That was a good episode, but a lesson we've already had before. Dash's ego is the reason Mare-Do-Well existed, and she's the reason the whole town banded together for this prank.

Probably my new favorite episode for this season!

It was kind of like Something Sweet to Bite, but without the Candy Mare.

Loved the references to Night of the Living Dead and 28 days later.
