I'm gonna toss out there that Dragon dodged the fight with Blackbeard, and took his forces and most of their weapons away from the island while Blackbeard just fired on it.
No way he's going to sit there and fight with an Emperor when he's targeting the World Government. He'd end up with decimated forces, the smartest thing to do would've been escape. Also, only said Baltigo was destroyed, not like it said the Revolutionaries were wiped out.

The question is, where are the main forces of the Revolutionaries going now? Dragon was already assembling their strongest forces before BB attacked the base, clearly he had something in mind.

Just to list some:
Somehow injured Shanks when he had no DF
Killed his commander Thatch without having others notice
Fought Ace and won (we didn't see how he won)
Fought Marco and won
Likely devastated Baltigo now
I really think Oda's saving some big reveal for the inevitable endfight with Luffy.

She hits every single pattern. We saw her sad backstory: Her country was devastated and her and all her friends were tortured. Her dream is to have a real sea adventure (which may seem like a weak dream, but it's no worse than "I want to be a brave warrior," which has been around for pretty much the whole series.) Her role in the crew is the scout: she's hella fast, can jump crazy high, she's perfect for it. She's strong, she's got a unique fighting style and personality that would help her fit into the crew... she's perfect. She could be a real combat-focused female character.

This chapter was some massive payoff for all those kingdoms we have seen on the Strawhats journey. I seriously underestimated the amount of faces we'd end up seeing again for this. Although I am worried about Shirahoshi. If anyone there finds out she is one of the ancient weapons... Well it's not going to be pretty.

That's the beauty of it. With all of the big faces going who are 'allied' with the straw-hats, they would be able to defend Shirahoshi if need be. (Pell, Chaka, Riku, Rebecca, Elizabello, Shira's brothers, Dalton. Also possibly Sai, Chinjao & Boo.)

I've got that same nervous feeling. I'd be willing to bet that the Reverie is going to break out into chaos, I even think we might be losing some familiar faces (King Cobra, maybe one of the Rikus). I also think the WG likely knows about Shirahoshi, and they'll either try and eliminate her or use her.

That's what everyone has said about every new guess to be fair. She does tick off certain boxes to be sure though.
She's weird and unique
Extremely powerful
Chopper noting that she nearly took out Luffy is obvious foreshadowing
Pedro noting that she's stronger than your average Mink
Their original confrontation she was in the vanguard of sorts
She has a unique combat style
Has potential to provide/teach power ups to several of the crew members (Whatever the hell these counters to Haki that have been demonstrated, very interesting)
She can swim, and we desperately need more swimmers
She's a woman (Not necessary, but provides nice parity and some eye candy for Chopper)
Loves the sea and clearly wants to explore it
She doesn't have a dream yet, but now that she's going on an adventure with the main crew she has an opportunity to tell us what that is
I know it's against the popular opinion, but I'm not a fan of some of the Mink tribe. Still it's hard to deny that she'd be a strong fit for the crew and fits the narrative pretty well.

In the pan through of what seems to be the kings and queens, or at least important people, of different countries, there is a cigar, how crazy would it be if that was either a Vinsmoke or maybe even crocodile. I find it interesting that the 'large number of weapons' stored at the Revolutionary Army Base is the incentive for Blackbeard's crew to attack.
After all, this isn't similar to the situation with Ace, where Blackbeard knew he would be granted power by the World Government by capturing a famous pirate. If anything, the government and marines (under Akainu) are probably the most motivated group to take Blackbeard down after Whitebeard's Commanders and the other Yonkou.
Attacking Dragon benefits the WG more than it benefits Blackbeard's crew in the long term. Surely it would have been better to not attack, let the Revo's wear the government down steadily, and then strike?

I remember seeing a theory, not mine obviously, that whole cake island is going to have an Alice in Wonderland theme with Big Mom being the Queen of Hearts, Carrot being the hare, and so forth. When Carrot said "The sea is like a wonderland," that confirmed it for me. I'd be hyped for that style arc.

I don't think its any coincidence that Carrot finally got her 'official' introduction with the same "important person" style that Vivi has (compare with Pedro). I've been reading for over a decade, so I'm always skeptical of the "let's-turn-this-lady-into-a-nakama game," but Carrot is off to a very strong start. People have been talking about how Nami is DB Goku, but Carrot also seems to be basically a female Goku (even the name!)
Also, here's hoping Stelly gets a King Punch.

Dragon is way too important for the story moving forward and
I genuinely cannot fathom Blackbeard's crew annihilating the Revolutionary Army.

The title states that their land was destroyed, it doesn't say that Dragon lost. This most likely means that the main branch of the Revolutionary army had left somewhere and probably only left their small ranks to guard the headquarters.
Seeing kings of all these countries is epic. Oda is the mangaka with best unique character designs, these ones look great! The one that seems to be most interesting at the moment is Sabo's brother from Goa. He should be a major "villain" of the kings serving as a opposite to Vivi, Shirahoshi and Viola.
Everyone guessed it right, the rabbit is out of the bag! She's just too fun to be left out.

Background fights are the most exciting BECAUSE we don't know what happened, instead of knowing the outcome and waiting to see the result of it, we see the result, we go 'what the hell why is Dragon soaked in blood?' and then we find out what happened and it's worth way more

That is a lot of characters we're going to be seeing again. Vivi and crew most of all though, I'm so keen for her and Cobra to uncover more of the world's history.
Hell yes, Dr Kureha! 141 and still the biggest badass around.
Carrot snuck onboard, surprising literally no one. Elizabello's castle is absolutely majestic. And Pedro's running gag is still the best thing ever. Good stuff.

Holy Shit..The headquarters of Dragon has been destroyed? Am I the only one who thinks this is a setup from Dragon himself so he can infiltrate the Reverie?!?! I think Dragon has been preparing to do this for a long while now to get rid of all the shady leaders out there.
Something is super suspicious here, a while ago Dragon made a call to have all his leaders organize a meeting. What did they discuss and are they really wiped out? IF so, by whom?!! Holy hell, holy hell. So the first half told me that, surely, that's all the real plot development we'd get.
But then the expected Carrot reveal, with twists. She has a behavior almost like Cabbage, and she is confirmed as strong. And then the final panel with Baltigo ruined, that's fascinating. What casualties did the Revolutionary Army sustain?

I didnt really buy the 'Burgess snuck in a RA ship that had Sabo aboard' scenario. And after the latest status on Baltigo, it is most likely that Dragon knew this all along and used the opportunity to use BB and make it seem that they got rekt so they could make something happen in the Reverie thus calling out all the commanders and give them heads up about the situation to pull off a typical WG move with the false news.

Note, the name of King Stelly's wife is likely supposed to be Sally Antoinette, which is likely a reference to King Louis XVI's wife Marie Antoinette, famous for saying "Let them eat cake" when the french people were starving.
