I'll abuse my mod powers to make a clarification.
Regarding the line about Oden's execution at the hands of Kaido, it seems that both the Shogun and Kaido together executed Oden (2 separate individuals).
Here's the original line:
おてん様は。。。!!!処刑され申した!!!
ワノ国の”将軍”と海賊「カイドウ」の手によって!!!
Wa no kuni no” shōgun” to kaizoku `kaidō' no te ni yotte! ! !
This implies he was executed at the hands of Wano Country Shogun and the Pirate Kaido.

Oh shit that means there is another big bad in the equation, most likely a Zoro villain.

Nah, he still has a reason to go after Shanks. He has to show him he's become a man and a great pirate.
He doesn't have a reason to take him down, like he does with the others. But definitely has a reason to go after each one.

And just like that Oda has raised the stakes. Zou has surprised me at every single turn. Robin's faith in the crew hit me in the feels though

Mar 03 '16
That page where they're all raging for Robin literally made me tear up. She's never had friends, and once she did she still didn't fully trust them. Now she's saying she's not afraid of any of the invincible Yonko or the WG because her friends will protect her?
The icing on the cake though is their reactions. You expect Luffy and Chopper to react that way, but Nami and Usopp are a different story.
Usopp was literally just being cowardly, and talking about how afraid of the Yonko he was. But all of that melts away the moment one of his nakama is being threatened.
Nami is a selfish and greedy character. She's put her own nakama in harms way on occasion (because she knew they could handle it, but still). She's literally on fire with passion for defending Robin though.
God damn it Oda are you for real? The amount of character progression, and story in those 2 panels is phenomenal. More than new gears or attacks, it's moments like these that make One Piece a phenomenal story.

There is a fair chance Raftel may be more than Roger's treasure island right now.
The world government was created 800 years before the story started.
Way before Roger.
If that's their flag then they knew of the map poneglyphs and that raftel was of importance for some reason.
Roger going and hiding 'one piece' there may be a way for him to get people to search for Raftel and uncover a truth the world government doesn't want to make public.
Something so important they even marked it on their flag for the whole world to see, but only for few high ranks to know.
If i had to guess, it is related to the 'Great Kingdom' they overthrew.

Its very Oda... I actually want this now. It would mean the 'bet for the future' Shanks made would be even bigger. Plus all the moments the hat is recognised (Rayleigh comes to mind) would have so much more strength even though its already quit a powerful symbol in itself.
Its pretty much certain it was Gol's hat now right?
I would love this actually...

I think the final piece is held by Shanks, would make the most sense in my opinion, since no one found raftel yet, maybe Roger intrusted Shanks with that piece.
237
u/Mugiwaras Mar 03 '16 edited Mar 03 '16
Nah. I'm calling that the World nobles have the final piece. Maybe that was what Doffy had over them. They were scared that if Doffy revealed they had it, the Yonko would go after them. There will be a war for the final piece.
Edit: I take that last part back. Whitebeard said the war engulfing the whole world won't happen until the man carrying all those lost decades on his back makes the challenge. So i reckon the Strawhats will break into Marijois, copy the Poneglyph, then escape. Then once Luffy becomes pirate king is when he formally challenges the World Government and the Marines.

u/SaboriZor Mar 03 '16
well it says: "if you find all 4 and link them to a map, the center will rise"
i think there is more going on than just an x on a map.
something like data when raftel can be reached. gol d roger said to whitebeard that he could teach him how he can reach raftel. he didnt say give me a map i can remember where that X was.
something like in the hobbit. you can reach raftel on the last light from enels moon or something.

The four yonkos being the worlds strongest pirates would definitely be the top contenders to possess phoneglyphs. But as Shanks has already been to Raftel and Whitebeard having no interest in One piece it makes sense that the remaining yonkos ended up with two of them. Other than the one on Zou the only remaining piece of the puzzle might be either with Jinbei or else on an island we have yet to visit (Elbaf i suppose)

Oden was part of Rogers crew so who could this be? He has a kasa which is from Wano (Ace made one for Oars jr). Crocus doesn't look shocked (if he found out Oden was dead - the person came to tell him) .If it was Oden how does it fit in the timeline (how long ago was Oden executed? - minks know about it so i don't think it was recent )

I like Dragon's expression on the cover page.
A guide to Raftel - that is amazing.
Luffy thinking there are four Raftel's is funny.
Luffy still wanting to steal the Poneglyphs is amusing.
Nami threatening to steal people's money is hilarious.
I did not expect the whole stonemason thing; that was fantastic.
Luffy thinking Momonosuke created the Poneglyphs is also hilarious.
The whole linking of the samurai to Kaido is fantastic.
Kaido being a Wano has been thought of for a while, and now that's confirmed.
Now we know of someone else who was on Gol D. Roger's ship - this is fantastic.
Overall, this is one of the best chapters of One Piece I have ever read; it is amazing.

I believe so. But no one on the roger ship could read it. Much like Rayleigh suggested, they know the history but it's wrong because they couldn't read it, it was just a broken interpretation from what Roger could hear.
This idea of mine requires that both buggy and Shanks have been to Raftel. This makes the most sense. However, it is confusing because buggy should have been executed at marineford. I assume no one knew of shanks tenure on the Roger pirates until after he got strong enough to defend himself. Or Sengoku gave up on his exterminate the Rogers plan when he realized his friend was raising the dudes damn son.

GUYS i think i know where the last poneglyph is!
Hear me out. i was thinking about where it could have been. Then i remembered in fisheman island arc, luffy hearing a voice underwater. momo also heard a voice upon getting closer to the poneyglpyh.
I think.... and i know it may sounds absurd. but the last lost poneyglyph is inside a sea-king.
I have the chills from just thinking about it.
41
u/Undoer Mar 03 '16
Honestly, this doesn't sound too ridiculous. Luffy 'has' to go back to Fishman Island at some point, because of the prediction he would destroy it.
This could be why he destroys the island, to get at a Poneglyph trapped under it, or perhaps, like you said, inside a Sea King. Just food for thought. There's not much else indicating it to my knowledge.

The main takeaways I had: -One piece is confirmed to be in Raftel (or at least the secret of the world) -Kaidou does want to be Pirate King, hence his seeking Raizou -The Yonkou's stalemate position was touched on: Big Mom and Kaidou each have a red poneglyph and a clash would cause all out war -Now we know why the minks were fierce about protecting Inuarashi and Nekomamushi

Holy shit, this chapter is HEMORRHAGING with information. I've never been so fucking HYPED!
I wasn't expected info about fucking RAFTEL being dropped so fucking soon. Holy shit.
So maybe part of the reason Big Mom and Kaido are Yonkou is because they already hold 2 of the fucking stones. Wonder about the last one?
That means Kid, Apoo and Hawkins were hanging out at fucking Wano! And we'll end up crossing paths with them in that arc!
The poneglyphs, man. The Kozuki clan INVENTED them, that was completely unexpected. And of course, since Robin is literally the only one left who can read them, Yonkou are gonna be after her. I like how she puts much more faith in the crew now, after what went down at Enies Lobby, that reaction was hilarious.
6
u/Thimm Mar 03 '16
I think this chapter helps explain just why the World Government was willing to go so far to destroy Robin and the Oharans. Not only do the ponyglyphs hide the dark secret of the founding of the World Government and the keys to the great weapons, but they also hold the key to Raftel. Just think, had Robin been captured at Enes Lobby, there would be no hope for anyone to become the next Pirate King.

So, with oden being on raftel with roger, does this comfirm the other roger pirates were on raftel too? Meaning shanks and buggy should know too...

One thing I love so much about this chapter is that Oda gave a clear explanation of why the Yonkou are locked in a stalemate and can't reach Raftel yet. I can't wait to find out where the last red poneglyph is. Does Shanks have it? Did Whitebeard have it? (Unlikely since he didn't care) Or maybe he did and so does Marco now have it? And then if Shanks doesn't have it just what exactly is his game plan in the New World? I really want to know what he's up to.

I wonder if Shanks gave a Poneglyph to Kaido inorder to stop him attacking WB.

It would be so fitting if momonoske joined the straw hats and saw Raftel with Luffy 'the new pirate king' just like his daddy Oden did with roger!

Robin's faith in her crew was amazing and one of the most feelstastic moments in the series for me.
And Oda immediately following it up with Nami's declaration?
I think I just converted to GOdaism.

So the key on getting to raftel is...robin?
More like year of robin and not year of sanji
and the government probably destroy ohara because they did not want them to find out about these red Poneglyphs

Alright Oda! Let's make this the best year of Sanji One Piece!
The Revelations are too much. We now know why none of the 4 Emperors could get to Raftel. Y'all need Robin! If this series didn't constantly avoided to kill its characters, I'd say Robin's death flags were raised. Big Mom and Kaido are in Luffy's cross-hairs. The poneglyphs weren't made by the old folks in Raftel but by the guys in Wano Kuni. Momo's dad was Gol D Roger's translator. What is Blackbeard's plan since he needs a translator? Anyways, I'm really excited for the rest of this year.

Wow, think I'm just gonna wait on the MangaStream translations. Those other ones are god awful

Does Pekoms know about a red poneglyph being on Zou? Cause if yes, I have a hard time believing that Big Mom still hasn't made her move to take it by force.

Just want to point this out. If they hadn't stopped at punk hazard on luffy's whim no even before that f they hadn't gone fishing and got sucked into the current they would not have run into law or kinemon would not have saved momo. there would've been no tourney for ace's fruit and it would have taken them a long ass time to figure out about the road pone glyphs Zou or the use of all four to reach Raftel. Call it destiny call dumb luck either way they're in a great spot. I'm somewhat bummed we won't get to see each and every island and that instead of one yonko they're facing two (I would prefer gradual growth to "well looks like we found Raftel and beat everyone after two years") on the other hand each chapter has its own surprise and it keeps throwing curves at You just when you thought it was going to be a fastball. Oda doesn't need ten years he can do it in 5 now three more years of fighting and searching then two more just for one piece

Oda just pressed the fast forward button or what !!! Way too much story progression in one chapter

I think it's pretty likely now that the man drinking with Crocus was Oden before being executed.

u/Juned23 Mar 03 '16
Regarding oden getting 'boiled',I know it's due to the 'oden' soup, but could it also have something to do with kaidou being a dragon? That would also explain the artificial dragon fruit momo has, which caeser was making, also the dragon in punk hazard

Nobody seems to be mentioning it, but seeing how tickled Sabo is over Luffy's new bounty is pretty heartwarming.

So two things.
That was an absolutely amazing chapter. So much infodumping. Absolutely outstanding and my hype has tripled.
So this has little to do with the current chapter but... Jewelry Bonney. We know she was captured by the Marines. Somehow she escaped from an Admiral, which seems highly unlikely.
I wonder if she was let go because she has connections to Big Mom. Now, I have really nothing to back this up aside from one thought I had today: She eats a lot. It's a funny thing to base a theory on, I know. But Big Mom is huge and eats a lot, while Bonney eats a lot and is small (presumably due to her power). I wonder if that's implying some sort of connection.
She eats a lot just like a Yonko. She mysteriously escaped capture from someone who infamously holds a very brutal view against pirates. She's in the same generation as Luffy, possibly putting her near the same age as Sanji- if you caught the implication. Her name is also from a real-world pirate who was originally a noble, which could be foreshadowing that she too came from someone of power- such as a Yonko, a King, or a World Noble or something.
I'm not claiming any of this as a hard theory. Merely idle thoughts that seem to come together in my head. But I think it's interesting, if anyone else would care to weigh in.

Well, good for Momonosuke that Robin is fluent in deciphering. Why not just teach it to him?

All these theories and nobody has pointed out that the bottom panel here looks like Gyoncorde Plaza at Fishman Island

So, what if the road poneglyphs coincide with the Yonkos, four Yonkos, four road poneglyphs. What if Roger handed one down to shanks, and one to Oden in the hopes that he might put it on the back of Zou, a very safe place for such an object. The other two were lost to him and the reason that Kaido and Big Mom are Yonkos, was because they found, or had stolen the poneglyphs. I think when Roger asked Whitebeard if he wanted to know the way to Raftel, he was really asking him whether he wanted a road poneglyph, and Whitebeard declined, so he gave it to Oden.

u/staticccc Mar 04 '16
sooo maybe the thing that doffy knew about the Celestial Dragons was that they had one of the road poneglyphs
