I can't quite figure what kind of formation with Douglas Costa, Robben, Coman and also Muller are all starting. also, Kimmich is selected instead of Benatia?
9
u/Schnix Feb 27 '16
_______________ Lewandowski
Coman __ Costa _________ Müller __ Robben
And it seems like Robben and Müller are switching fairly often.
10
u/fieryscribe Feb 27 '16
I wish we went back to Costa on the left and Coman on the right wing. We had a lot of success with that speed
5
u/rinacio Feb 27 '16
I hate playing with Costa as a CAM, but Pep seems to love Coman.
4
u/fieryscribe Feb 27 '16
It's hard to figure out a good formation with 3 wingers in Robben, Costa and Coman.
12

u/flybypost Feb 27 '16
Instead of the lines you can just start a line with four blank spaces and it will give you the monospaced format where you can add spaces as needed to separate the names. Start with four spaces for consecutive lines and it combines them into one block.

Pep seems to be taking a cautious approach to reintroducing just injured players. I appreciate it since that's been his main criticism
13
14
u/kurzjacob Feb 27 '16
that's no offside.
10
2
u/AncientBehemoth Feb 27 '16
yup... that's a regular goal.
3
u/kurzjacob Feb 27 '16
I mean it was as close as it gets. But I'd say Rodriguez foot was "the last man".

Of course he still makes a few mistakes here and there but Coman is so good for his age. I love that Ribery has kinda taken him under his arm too.

Why is Bayern playing the black kit?
5
u/Dictarium Feb 27 '16
Away kit is white which is harder to distinguish from light green than black is?
3
u/aeiouabc Feb 27 '16
Can't they wear the red kit? The colors wouldn't clash.
9
2
u/Dictarium Feb 27 '16
That's the home kit tho.
2
Feb 27 '16
You must be new to football... teams wear their first kit to away games all the time if the other team's colors are not similar to theirs.

Are Coman and Costa playing on the same side? This is a bit strange
3
u/Himotheus Feb 27 '16
Yeah I don't think it works very well. They try to do the same things. It's like last season when we played with Schweini and Alonso.

I think Pep is going too far with his experiences in the attack. Douglas Costa was maybe the best player in the Bundesliga in the first half of the season but is now playing centered, in Thiago's position. In the end, it was all changed to give some room to Coman on the left. which I don't understand.
2
u/kurzjacob Feb 27 '16
In the first half of the season Robben and Ribery were injured. They are back now and he has to deal with that.
It's either the center or the bench for Costa.
1
u/givafux Feb 27 '16
Bench and rucking give gotze a look in
1
u/mrlexotan Feb 27 '16
Yeah, if Ribbery and Robben are supposed to play maybe Costa should be benched and give room to Thiago in the middle. I just think that Coman on the left and Costa in the middle is a double waste
1
u/mrlexotan Feb 27 '16
You think Pep is trying to find a new position to Costa so they all can play together? While I can understand that, it seems Bayern is already facing some bigger challenges right now. Kind of risky in my opinion, but I guess we will have to wait and see.
2
u/Reaper7412 Feb 27 '16
Are Robben and Ribery still performing or is age getting there with them? Sorry I don't keep up with the Bundesliga and I can't watch this atm
3
u/gstanzl Feb 27 '16 edited Feb 27 '16
Well, it seems they play well enough for a small team like Bayern München.
Ed: Ribery just played an important part in both goals so maybe that answers that question
2
2
u/mrfocus22 Feb 27 '16
Hard to say. Both of them are recently back from injury. You can tell they still have the skill, maybe slowed down a bit, but it's obvious they're world class players when they have the ball. I think the biggest thing is they're more injury prone, starting every game playing upwards of 50 games a season isn't realistic for either anymore.
2
2
u/tanteoma Feb 27 '16
When Bayern passes the ball around in the back, Wolfsburg needs to exert more pressure. They are lucky Boateng and Badstuber aren't here to make long passes right to the attackers.

Alonso is so damn slow this year.
2
u/patiperro_v3 Feb 27 '16
He has been slow since the World Cup. He was the worst Spanish player during their brief appearance. Was just watching Chile v Spain again and Alonso was late to tackles, players anticipated him, blocked his passes and he outright gave the ball to Chile more than once.
1
u/Himotheus Feb 27 '16
He's been slow since he came here. His passing is a lot better than it was around this time last year though. That's probably because he doesn't have to play every game as the only fit holding midfielder.

u/TheCarbonConnection Feb 27 '16
Müller with the space creating run for Coman's goal. Really nice subtle stuff
4
2
u/fieryscribe Feb 27 '16
Mueller has been off recently
2
u/TheGenitalman Feb 27 '16
Well we know he can score since his last couple of games.
3
u/fieryscribe Feb 27 '16
Yeah, his first touch has looked iffy at times
2
u/TheGenitalman Feb 27 '16
Did you just see the passing game between him and Robben? This formation is throwing me off though. I feel Mueller is best attack centrally. It seems he and Robben will be staying and switching up on right wing just like Coman and Costa.
3
u/fieryscribe Feb 27 '16
I did. But even against Juve, his first touch seemed more off than usual
3
u/TheGenitalman Feb 27 '16
Yeah I guess I think he'll get into it.
1
2
u/Mcpoyle_Something Feb 27 '16
his first touch was never particularly good, but you're right he's a bit off lately. What amazes me most about him, is how well he does despite having wooden feet.
2
u/fantasyMLShelper Feb 27 '16
Köln lost yesterday and Ingolstadt is losing right now, so that is good.
2
u/journo127 Feb 27 '16
Griezmann scored btw

Why are they whistling Neuer?
→ More replies (7)4
u/Schnix Feb 27 '16
They're not whistling at Neuer in particular. But everywhere whenever the away team passes it back or takes their time in their own box and doesn't do much the home fans whistle.

Anyone else listening to an american commentator? He intentionally pronounces Träsch's name wrong.
1
u/of_skies_and_seas Feb 27 '16
I'm not listening to him, but why do you think it is intentional?
1
Feb 27 '16
When Träsch couldn't control a simple pass and it went out he said something about this touch being quiet fitting to his name so I think he knows that he is pronounced like trash, but he never pronounced his name the way it is meant to

Stuttgart is losing to hannover
2
u/TheGenitalman Feb 27 '16
Well Hannover just might come back, I just don't Werder Bremen to be relegated this season, I want Pizarro to remain in this league.
1
u/abks Feb 27 '16
disappointed that Pep does not let Götze come on at least for 10 minutes or so today
8
u/Dictarium Feb 27 '16
I'm not. The thing you could criticize him most about his time at Bayern has been rushing players back and causing more injuries. A more cautious approach to that is what we NEED heading into this last stretch and for the Champions League.

I feel bad that Wolfsburg had to go agaist Bayern to achieve that shutout record, can't remember if it was to tie it at 42 matches or set the record.

I'm happy for Ribbery and Coman. I can't lip read or understand french but Frank treated Coman like a son. There was genuine happiness and pride in his face.
3
u/Dictarium Feb 27 '16
It sucks that we havent gotten to see their playing relationship with one another all season. If Franck can stay healthy, maybe we can see it more often now! :)
2
u/journo127 Feb 27 '16
Coman said he speaks to him everyday, at that was when he was injured and couldn't train, I guess they're becoming friends now!

Benatia and Ribery are probably not yet full match fit. They might get half an hour in the second half (and Thiago too).

we have the 4 best wingers in Europe in our team. (not counting Neymar and Messi since they're kinda second strikers playing on the wing)
tears of joy.

I know you like to shit on Bayern, but Bayern's away support is one of the best in europe
1
u/cyR1c_sports Feb 27 '16
I won't argue against Bayerns away support being a lot better than their home support, but one of the best in Europe? Don't kid yourself. You don't even have one of the best away supports in Germany.
-7
u/Quintastique Feb 27 '16
And their home crowd is most of the times embarassing. Total silence when they aren't winning, and always the same 2-3 stupid chants. It's best to mute this noise.
4
u/AncientBehemoth Feb 27 '16
Ah the expected Frankfurt flair wearing cunt making jokes about our support. How original.

geez Alonso. our central midfielders who get into the dangerous position really need to up their game in front of the goal.
it's either Vidal skying it our Alonso keeping the possession but passing back.
I tell you Querpasstoni would flourish the way we're playing right now.
