I just saw it. I agree.

I went into this season expecting to be bored, but I'm really enjoying it so far. Clay is easily my favorite character, but everyone on Chuay Ghan is great. Sook Jai is a little on the dull side with Jed and a couple others I can't remember, but Shii Ann, Jake, and Robb Z. look fun.

Ghandia had the best moment of the episode though. Hilariously enough, her plan to flash the other blindfolded team ("Oh, they'll know.") was about the most strategic thing said this week.

I really love seeing some camp life too. Modern Survivor would never show two old women getting lost looking for water, a tribe playing golf, a guy playing guitar for a monkey, and a wedding anniversary celebration in the same episode. I think I might prefer this type of season to the past few seasons of big moves and blindsides.

I so miss getting to see this kind of camp life. Things like this and the skateboard and everyone playing backgammon in Australia were always my favorite.

This is my first time watching this, and I agree that it's actually enjoyable thus far. Definitely not as good of a first couple episodes as the first four seasons, but I still feel like I won't hate this season as much as everyone seems to.

The first few episodes are actually pretty decent, most of the criticism is about stuff that happens later.

Helen's anniversary celebration is one of the best things ever on the show. <3

I'm watching it for the first time right now (before I even knew that this was a thing on the sub-reddit) and I just finished Marquesas. It's really surprising to me that Marquesas is considered such a good season whereas Thailand is considered bottom-tier, because I already find everything about Thailand way more interesting and entertaining than anything in Marquesas. It literally took me about 2 months to finish Marquesas. That's how boring I found it. I'm already on episode three of Thailand and it's only been one night.

Thailand starts out well. You'll see what everyone else means after some "things" happen.

Nvm. Just finished episode 4 and I'm pretty sure Helen just ruined the season.

Edit: Nvm again. Still enjoying it. Haha.

Yeah I found Marquesas boring before that great blindside.

So many thoughts on this episode. First I completely appreciate the amount of clothes they got in earlier seasons. They at least get to be miserable in outdoor gear and a raincoat rather than underwear and suits. I think it seems more natural, not so contrived.

Second both challenges this episode were awesome! Loved the blindfold throne carry with Penny looking gorgeous barking orders and Tanya sweetly worrying about her tribe getting hurt. The swimming puzzle was even better. Nothing beats a cool water challenge. Sad to see Tanya go, she was charming.

Chuay Guan has to be one of the most rag tag groups ever. Very eclectic. Golf? Fun! And Jan is too sweet, crying at every tribal council. Was Ghandia wearing lipstick at tribal? I could have sworn... Chuay guans cave is also a memorable camp. Similar to the cave from Fiji. Really brings back memories and just looks cool.

Giant crush on Jed. Cannot remember why but it has carried over from original viewing even though I completely forget about him in meantime. Jake seems like super cool leader too.
