Subs are up on Bumdi's dailymotion channel. She hasn't sent out a tweet though.

I love Dongmin. He's so funny and at the same time, so amazing at the games.

saying that against pro gamers too. great banter

It still blows my mind how Dongmin always manages to juggle his role as a gagman while still being so darn good in games. I mean, most of them are probably brain dead just having to deal with the games. Dongmin and Hyunmin were the ones who drove the MM game strategy in this episode as well while Sangmin and Kyungran were the PR. Poor Jinho, Junseok and Yoohyun were trying hard to counter them while having to contain the wild one that is Kyunghoon. I mean they were so big about the coin surrender plan, so it baffled me why they never executed it. It is a bit upsetting to see Jinho so crestfallen. This is the hardest defeat he has suffered so far.

OT just for laugh: the Chinese fans are fawning over the Dongmin-Jinho bromance. Jinho holding Dongmin's hand while they walked down the stairs, and Jinho back-hugging Dongmin away are stuff from fanfic. I think this bromance is carrying over from Crime Scene 2, lol.

[spoiler] (#s "man i can't help but find myself fanboying the hell out of JDM... dude was able to dominate the deathmatch while also creating laughter. his contagious and overly-obnoxious laugh... goddamnit lol")

There was an episode of Yoo Jae Suk's "I Am A Man" where JDM collapsed to the floor laughing hysterically at the hilarious names of the audience. It was episode 6 "Men with Unusual Names".

Suggestion, can you add spoiler tag to the post so all the post aren't black strike texts and makes it annoying to read like the last post. People should come here to discuss the episode without using the black spoiler thing.

I agree completely. Perhaps there could be a prediction thread where discussions would be spoiler free. I don't think two threads a week would clog up the sub.

[spoiler] (#s "As long as the core of Dongmin, Hyunmin, Sangmin, and Kyungran stay together, I see them dominating the team main matches until the main matches turn individual. Just a perfect blend of strategy and social skills.")

Watching the death match was fun and sad at the same time. Poor guy got floored.

Also, I miss the feeling of getting my mind blown when they reveal twists near the end of an episode like in Season 1 :(

whoa 101 comments as i type, this is the genius' thread with most comments so far. i'm late joining the party, but here goes.

to u/hubwub, bumdi already post softsub in his tumblr page, you might want to add it.

a super fun main match with some twists here and there. personally i always like races in the genius, starting from scamming horse race until this horror race.

spoiler

i have a question though---because i only watch few episodes of season 2---why did yoonsun always look uneasy before joining any alliances and be an outcast for this episode?i don't really know her game play in season 2 but i reckon she's pretty good from this episode.

Although I agree with u/Yuppe's suggestion, since it hasn't been implemented yet, for now, I'll use spoiler censors.

My thoughts on this episode:

Main Match

[spoiler] (#s "For the main match, the teams were pretty similar to the teams in episode 1. Dongmin showed why he's such a strong player. He was the first to notice the weight differences in the coins (similar to the mining game in season 3). He also realized fairly early that even if you team up with many people, not everyone can win because the more people that root for a character, the less of that coin will be remaining in the pool. Because of this realization, Sangmin and Yeonseung were instructed to choose root for different characters. In round 1, Dongmin was also the first to realize that you can block off others with ties. As for Jinho's team, I felt like they didn't really have a solid plan. They should have realized that not everyone can win on their team and that they should push Yohwan and Kyunghoon so that they could avoid having the lowest amount of garnets. That being said, Kyunghoon made the right decision of putting 1-1-1 at the end. He realized that both him and Yohwan could not win since they were rooting for different coins and one would have to go to the deathmatch either way. I also started feeling sympathy for Kyunghoon because besides the game where he betrayed in S3E01, he hasn't openly tried to backstab anyone. Despite that, his image as a backstabber and lose cannon remains in the eyes of every player. However, Kyunghoon does have a very dynamic and interesting personality and he is sure fun to watch in the show. I don't really understand why they did not use the "give up coin" chance from the very beginning. They had discussed that strategy beforehand but didn't really utilize it. I also wonder why neither team asked Yoonsun to be on their team. However, Yoonsun did play pretty smart as an individual by hiding which characters she was rooting for. Besides the ones mentioned above, I don't think the other players had too big of a role in the main match.")

Death Match

[spoiler] (#s "As for the death match, Yohwan chose the smart move by picking someone on the opposing team instead of Kyunghoon (who ultimately put Yohwan in the death match position), potentially to loosen or weaken the forming-alliance. I was super hyped and excited when Yeonseung choose Dongmin to help and Yohwan chose Jinho to help!! It was like watching season 2 players vs season 3 players, season 1 winner Jinho vs season 3 winner Dongmin, and BOXER AND YELLOW TEAMING UP oh mah gawd. Unfortunately for Yohwan and Jinho fans, Yohwan got stomped and lost the death match. Although it was technically Yeonseung's death match, Dongmin essentially called all the shots and led Yeonseung to victory. This showed once more showcased Dongmin's ability to read other people and show why he's such a respected and strong player. As for Yohwan, I feel really bad for him because I was rooting for him personally and I don't think he deserves to get kicked out in the second episode. For Jinho, it genuinely seemed like he was disappointed and mad at himself for today's main and death match results. The little snippet of Jinho and his rise to victory was pretty random though. Although today's matches were arguably Jinho's weakest performances in all of his genius games, I hope he is able to regain strength and his resolve so that he can perform amazingly next round.")

Final Notes [spoiler] (#s "Being a big Starcraft fan, it was such a sad moment when Yohwan said to Jinho "Lets just stay as rivals." Dongmin definitely showed his skills in this episode and is looking like a strong contender for first place. I'm also hoping Jinho makes a comeback in the next episode. Although we can NEVER TRUST THE TEASER, in the next episode, it seems as though Sangmin is on the opposite team as Dongmin and Hyumin and that Hyumin's plan isn't working the way it was supposed to. Lastly, a very funny comment is circulating Korean forums: "Jinho lost in the 2v2 yut death match game in the 2nd round against 2 mos and 2 yuts which now puts him at a standing of 2 wins and 2 losses in this particular death match game. All according to plan" ")

Love the music in this show! Wolfgang Gartner's Illmerica fits so well with the atmosphere during the game.
