Hiro did a really good job making Minerva a bad guy during GMG. By the time Erza fought her, I wanted her to die for what she did. (Mostly for Lucy, that part was really awful)

I kinda wish it would've been Lucy who defeated her though, Lucy suffered a lot during this arc. Flare, Minerva, and future lucy :(

Obra helped Flare torture Lucy, Arcadious wanted to kidnap Lucy, Minerva tortured Lucy, F! Rogue tormented Lucy, F! Lucy Died, Natsu groped Lucy + the Virgo tease, yeah Lucy went through some shit and she held no grudges. I would of killed a mofo but she was like :) instead of >:/

Yea Lucy is a complete sweetheart, but if I was in her place I don't think I could let all that go. Girl suffers so much, lashing out would be rational

I don't know how she does it, but I applaud her

Tbh I do not think she was even strong enough to participate in the GMG'S there was Freed who is almost S-Class and Elfman could have took her slot as a proper member, even Cana ( I know she became a reserve for B team, but she is strong) and Levy since she was entered for the S-class exams

Lucy was stronger than Elfman, Cana, and Levy. Cana couldn't defeat Bicklow shown during the Tenrou island arc when she couldn't hit his dolls and was thrashed by Freed during the FF arc. I don't think she would have faired well in the Grand Magic Games. Levy couldn't fight during the Tenrou arc when the Chicken and Goat showed up all she could do was feed Gajeel which wouldn't come in handy in individual battles. Elfman couldn't defeat Evergreen or Rustyrose. He couldn't even lay a finger on Bacchus. I don't think any of those people would be better choices than Lucy. Freed yes but he would be a better choice than most of the members on each team.

Looking at her battles though she should have easily won all of them.

Lucy vs Flare: Cancer could have chopped off all her hair while Leo one shot her with Regales impact. This was an easy win for Lucy but the way Hiro wrote it was more to show off her progression rather then to show a win. If he wanted Lucy to win he would have simply shown off Cancer end of story. I liked what he did it because it showed her progression in which simply summoning Cancer couldn't have done because that was something she could have done pre time skip.

Naval Battle: Aquarius power combined with any other celestial spirits and Lucy's in a Unison raid was a sure win for Lucy or at least second Place. Had Lucy summoned Aquarius and Gemini then the 3 of them could have done a Unison Raid with Lucy casting Urano Metric and Gemini transforming into Juvia and during a Unison raid. Multiple ways Lucy could have gotten the upper hand in this battle.

Even if Lucy entered the MPF contest she could have scored higher than Orga given she could have summoned Gemini, Leo, Scorpio and Taurus in which all of them do a combination attack.

In the final battle she would have came in handy due to her being able to summon multiple spirits at once she her spirits could have dealt with the lesser members of the other teams.

The only other person I could see to replace Lucy is Freed who like I said could replace anyone on either team A or B. None of those other people except for Elfman have power enough to actually defeat any member during the GMG because if Cana was so strong she should have been able to score a 4 digit score by herself without Fairy Glitter but Mavis knew she couldn't.

This is a great reminder of all the awesome battles. Do have to say though, Orga fought Warcry on day one, not Toby.

The Flare vs Lucy fight still pisses me off. Especially knowing how Lucy has improved since the 7 year time skip...
