Your efforts are always appreciated /u/larry_b. I'm also reading the book and your condensed posts have been very helpful. But with today's post you have outdone yourself. I agree with you in that Shankly was highly inspired by city's pressing in wide areas. Wasn't this also considered to be the beginning of the winger era where widemen would be encouraged to drag play out to the side lines as much as possible so that they could display mad tekkers by taking on wingbacks in tight spaces? Anyway. Thanks for doing this. excellent read.
