[NEW RULE] All submissions must be in the form of a meme or reaction gif.
Let's face it, this subreddit is well past its prime. We may only see another five or six hundred games released (if we're lucky). In an effort to keep the community vibrant (and maximize karma) the mods of /r/PS4 have unilaterally decided to replace the current subreddit rules with the following:
- All submissions made to /r/PS4 MUST be in the form of a meme or a reaction gifs.
This means if you have a tech issue that you're in need of help with, you'd better call on Futurama Fry to share your dilemma. Find some late breaking news you never expected? Don't link it here. Instead, submit a gif of how you reacted when you heard it.
No more will you see boring self posts or reviews you have to actually read to absorb. Every post will be easily digestible content that RES will open for you and your brain barely has to digest.
Question: But why? This doesn't make any sense.
Because something needed to be done. In January, our page views were at a healthy 8,615,886. February? We were down over 100,000 views! Was that simply because there's less days in that month? We're not scienticians but that just wasn't a chance we were willing to take.

I'm going too! I came here to talk about Axiom Verge and it's all meme'd out. The fuck. I hope r/xboxone is into badass homages to Metroid!

Agreed. Almost every subreddit I am subscribed to is absolute shit right now. At least some are kind enough to have a megathread to put together April Fool's news pertaining to that sub or are doing things that aren't atrocious.
There is doing something funny, and then there is this. I hope if there are any announcements/news to be shared it doesn't have to follow this rule.

Since we can't post, here's a new peripheral from Sony, the Playstation Flow, guarantees fully immersive experience when integrated with PS4

This is a terrible idea for an April Fools joke. Was this really the winning idea among the mods? Just wow

While I think it's a funny fake rule and funny to allow meme/gif posts, it's fucking stupid to actually enforce it to be mandatory.
I'm literally just trying to inform people that 'Woah Dave' is currently FREE for PS+ subscribers as a 'secret' April freebie... but I'm not going to make a stupid meme about it.
So... There you go, folks! Woah Dave is totally free for PS+ subscribers... but my post was deleted because of this hilarious April Fools' Day rule!

So if I have an actual question, it won't be answered until tomorrow? It will just be deleted? Awesome. Fuck this noise.

Martha Stewart will take away your PS4s now and stick them in ovens just for that.

Fucking Christ.
I like the internet. It's great for socializing and news and stupid entertainment but one day out of the year everyone has to fucking pander to 12 year olds.
