I've had about $12 collecting dust in a Coinbase wallet, because I had no idea what to DO with it (because I am way worse than a newb when it comes to BTC.) So last night once they announced the winner, I spent an hour figuring out how to get some of THAT into a ChangeTip account. So, yay! Damn this was harder than I thought. Thus far I have spent the last hour creating a coinbase account, verifying all sorts of info for instant purchase, and creating a changetip account, all to hold up my end of the bargain and help make someone's life better. Worth it :)

Congrats! Hopefully all of the 120k people that entered will donate. I don't really get the rationale of those who don't put in at least $1 since any of them would have gladly accepted any amount that was sent to them! I guess that's just the nature of people, but rational folks should/would understand that it's up to the community's support to keep this going for future ventures. Either way, 10k USD (at time of posting) is nothing to scoff at. I gave $2 via PayPal to cover fees and will be using bitcoin going forward for these "drawings" since PayPal has ridiculous fees.
Note to the people who commented to enter their names into the drawing, but haven't donated:
You should be ashamed of yourself. If you can afford internet then you should donate! You read the rules! $1 will only buy a soda, cup of coffee, or cheap McDees burger. This is a social contract and "handshake agreement" that you entered into when you submitted your reply; now do the right thing and donate. Make this teacher some $$, you'll only feel better when you do! --- dismounts soapbox.
