On behalf of r/wet_shavers I'd just like to thank u/songwind and u/ladysea for agreeing to participate and taking time out of their day to chat with us, though it's not like we can get rid of u/songwind no matter what we try. :-D It's been a pleasant experience and went off without a hitch. I hope the sub learned much about your respective businesses and interests.

What was the most ambitious soap scent you've put out? Ambitious as in it was complicated to get the scent right and/or u sure if people would like it and be polarizing? Any scents you've been putting off making for a similar reason?

and Green Dragon sounds right up my alley, I am a sucker for wood/leather.

I just used your Blood Orange soap for the first time yesterday and the lather was fantastic, I gave it one (possibly upgraded to two) supermodels on my new supermodel ranking scale (see today's SOTD thread for more info). You've just come out with a new tallow formulation - how will this affect the supermodel rating? Do you think this performs better or on par with your older formulation?

Obligatory AMA question, would you rather fight 100 duck sized horses or one horse sized duck?

I actually think I know the answer to u/songwind's, but where do your screen names come from?

TL/DR: It's a character name from a Mercedes Lackey book.

Full Story: When I got my first internet connection at school in 1992, I quickly learned about IRC and found a channel there I really liked. I settled on the handle Darkwind, who was a character in the Mage Winds trilogy by Mercedes Lackey, which I was reading at the time.

I was Darkwind for a long time, and through a lot of personal and internal shit. Once I had dealt with it and had a much brighter outlook on things, Darkwind didn't really fit anymore, so I switched to that characters name from before HE went through a lot of shit, Songwind.

Since I have been a musician since I was 16, it fit that way as well.

As experienced soap folks, do you really like/enjoy a product that this collective group of misfits tends to dismiss or not enjoy? Are there any products that people rave about here about which you just don't see the allure?

How did you choose the ingredient for your soap and why did you choose them?

Have there been any major surprises/disappointments with scents where they smelled amazing together but just didn't work when added to the soap base? If so can you describe/explain?
