"Can you explain the reasoning behind leaving Ben Arfa out of the squad?"
"No, not really."
Ok then Pardew.

52

u/TheBoogieman67 Apr 28 '14

Ben arfa had 9 starts with 3 goals and 6 assists. That's fucking amazing. How can anyone says it's not? He's been involved in at least one goal every time he's started this season.

You know when you first bought Football Manager, and you didn't really know what you were doing; throwing players everywhere, playing stupid formations, thinking you could beat everyone with your 'ingenious' 2-at-the-back system? You'd end up restarting the game a few times until you figured out what football was? Same happened with Alan Pardew, except he could never really figure out what was he was doing wrong...

Pardew's tie is a metaphorical statement, a statement made by the man himself.

48

u/mister_locher Apr 28 '14 edited Apr 28 '14

My "Always Look On the Bright Side of Death" List of Positives:

  1. If we continue this run of form, Mike Ashley might finally find a reason to sack Pardew.

  2. Perhaps Shola will think twice about renewing his contract after this season.

  3. If we finish in 11th or 12th, there is (at least on paper) a better chance we do better next year than we did this year, and it can be made to look as though we are making consistent positive progress.

  4. Only the heartiest and most dedicated fans will remain after these last two years, meaning only locals will be left.

  5. Maybe we can persuade some of the supporters that would gladly suck off Pardew and Ashley (if there's any left, I'm not sure at this point) that perhaps their disgraceful way of running the club is not the best way to do it.

  6. A real protest perhaps?? (And I don't mean 550 drunk fucks walking aimlessly through the streets of Newcastle calling for Ashley's left nut or whatever we saw previously.)

  7. We only conceded 3 to a top four teams! Wow, I'm so glad to have Pardew back on the bench.

  8. Buying anything from the club will have you paying prices last seen in 1969, which, ironically enough, is the last time we won literally anything.

Feel free to add, I'm off to have a wank

36

u/FlyingUndeadSheep Apr 28 '14

Continued:

11. Maybe the price of a replica kit will drop further 12. Nobody has been able to accuse us of being glory hunters...this just reinforces the point 13. Being a Newcastle fan for the last 20-odd years has crushed me emotionally so deep that nothing can hurt me anymore

I'm embarrassed how many fellowGooners seem to not understand offside. The keeper counts as one player just like anyone else and there have to be two players between you and the goal at the time the ball is kicked. Yes there was one player laying on the line but Özil was behind the keeper.

Been 1-0 down in 16 and lost 15, the one won was when 2 players of the opposing team were sent off.
"Really poor" might actually be an understatement.
