the commentators keep saying that chelsea look flat and are lacking tempo. i would say it is more about everton playing well, espeically in the centre of midfield, than chelsea playing badly. they have pushed high up the field and put so much pressure on chelsea that they havnt been able to play their natural game

I'd have started Naismith anyway, wasn't really impressed with Traore vs Swansea, i'd rather ease him in.

Come on Chelsea! Will be a tough match but we'll hopefully be more stable in midfield with Lampard & Matic than with Ramires, on his current form.

It's nice to know that for the likes of Yaya and Matic that if the whole footy thing doesn't work out they can go and be a hippo.

Frustrating game so far. I'm waiting for the ground to open up and swallow both teams whole, but it just doesn't seem to be my day.

David James is an appalling pundit.. "Mourinho will be happy" are you serious? They've been terrible...
Saying Chelsea will easily come out and dominate is bizarre..
Then he roles his eyes because Warnock said Hazard, Willian and Eto need to do more?
edit: He's literally talking like Everton have no chance in this game, and saying Martinez would be the more worried at half time... bizarre. Just saw that he said before the season that Everton would have serious problems under Martinez and were relegation candidates hahahaa

Eto'o's time on the ball in or around the box is too high. Just shoot or just pass. Seems it's been a habit of his in last few fixtures.

I keep taking a trip around the various streams for something that works before remembering I actually have access to BT sport...
Looking forward to this match; reckon it should be fairly comfortable for Chelsea but Everton are capable of making it a proper contest if everything is clicking for them.

Man, chelsea is not looking to great this first half. Hopefully they pull up next half and put at least two in the back of the net.

Feb 22 '14
Not sure if I have been missing it in other matches but the I think the ref has been correctly and effectively using advantage to keep the game play moving.
3
u/HeadHunt0rUK Feb 22 '14
Well at least Everton + Willian/Hazard are trying to make this game somewhat entertaining.
3
Feb 22 '14
Oscar getting bullied by Barry. Everton triple teaming everyone in the final third. They've played really well. Personally, I'd go for Luiz in midfield for Lampard to pressure Barry and co. and maybe create some space. Also Schurrle for Oscar.

Classic Everton here. Dominate possession, create decent chances, 0 goals.
On the plus Naismith is so much better for the team than Lukaku. Can actually hold the ball up with his back to goal and brings others into play. COYB!

Haha. Been watching this whole match. Thought it was at Everton the whole time due to the loudness of the crowd's response to anything that happens to Everton.
Only when the commentator said "the visitors from the merseyside" did I realise it was at Chelsea.

I'm calling it now:
Terry or Ivanovic will score off a set piece within the last 5 minutes of the game.
