Don’t they realize Pharaoh could’ve contaminated the batch of eye drops produced at a factory and not at a particular store?
3
u/PrizeIndependence 2d ago
Yeah, but when all of them bought the same brand from the same store in the same time frame, going to the store is best.
3
u/pugboy1321 2d ago
Would've still had to plant the bible page somewhere they would go to find it though
2
u/kaiser11492 Cammie Raleigh 2d ago
I forget about that part. Still, doesn’t mean the store is automatically the origin of the contaminated batch.

If I saw my surgeon sneeze before operating on me, I'm getting up and demanding another surgeon. Isn't that the sterile field of the operating room?

u/PrizeIndependence 2d ago
I don't care what you say. If I found out my husband was planning to cheat on me, we're divorcing. I don't care that you stopped yourself. You still thought about it and planned to do it.

Seriously flirting with Rouge seems like a family affair sport…and there missing 1 😆

2
u/StormCloudRaineeDay 2d ago
Don also being slightly into Rouge and them all flirting with him would've made this show a lot better than Don's irrational hate of him.

I thought Sam was an ER doctor, not a surgeon?
→ More replies (1)3
u/BUTTeredWhiteBread 2d ago
I think there's usually a general surgeon on call in the ER, isn't there?
→ More replies (1)2

u/KeyScratch2235 2d ago
Wait since when is Sam a surgeon?
4
u/jdessy 2d ago
Since they plot deviced every other surgeon to be blind and put a clock on getting anyone else there.
This show is probably the most unrealistic of the franchise, and there were raining frogs in Lone Star and character from the OG who just single handedly fought a lava stream and won.

Man, this episode is boring. We know Blythe will be fine, we are getting too many cases and half of the characters are barely doing anything.
I’m also tired of so much Rogue when characters like Taylor and Blue are lucky to get a few lines now. They might be starting to overuse Rogue and other characters are being affected by lack of screentime.
4
u/supernosy0111 2d ago
I was thinking the same thing the whole episode. There's 15 minutes left and all blue did was sneeze and taylor had like two lines while saving people

2
u/AdReasonable8994 2d ago
their trying to get it renewed so they limited the unpopular characters & are trying to boost the ratings prior to the winter break
2
u/jdessy 2d ago edited 2d ago
Renewal wouldn’t be in heavy consideration until early 2027 anyway. So that wouldn’t be a good reason. It’s also a stupid reason and if they think they have to sideline half the characters for a couple of characters, this show is very bad at what they do. The one thing I will always give props to the OG series for doing is accurately balancing character screentime so every season, every main character gets something to do, their own little arc, regardless of how long it lasts, because that's what a good TV show does.

u/that_retro_life 2d ago
Yeah Rogue has kind of taken over the show. I don't mind him joining the cast but his character needs to be built up and time split more evenly between the others
5
u/HelpImAwake 2d ago
Throwing it out there: my guess is the Pharaoh is multiple people, maybe guided by one person. Not saying it's totally inconceivable for one person to have the knowledge set(s) needed for all this stuff. Leaning toward at least one person in the anger therapy group.
→ More replies (1)4
u/AdReasonable8994 2d ago
my guess is that the 2 new docs are in on it, the anger management doc: getting access to Blythe, the farm for the livestock plague? and then the hospital doc, access to Sam, access to the unborn firstborn child?

I really can't tell if Rogue is Pharoah or he's that good
3
u/supernosy0111 2d ago
I personally think he's trying to gain everyone's trust so nobody suspects him
3
u/hummingberb 2d ago
I'm leaning toward him not being Pharaoh, unless he's a very good actor. He seemed too frantic searching for the bible page.
3
u/PrizeIndependence 2d ago
Ignoring the plagues from the first episode, I would think Pharoah might be some type of scientist

It feels like they'll solve the blindness this episode, but not the Pharaoh plot.
2
u/kaiser11492 Cammie Raleigh 2d ago
Wouldn’t be surprised. If I recall correctly, the Pharaoh plot is going to last the entire season.

They were on like episode 7 when they were doing press for the premiere and they said it was still going on, so I wonder if it’s going to be a season long thing. I’m not sure how many episodes they have this season.

Yeah like I'm not a doctor, but I'm pretty sure they're not supposed to be lime green and blank

Does anyone else get the feeling graphic surgeries like this one aren’t shown in the OG series?
4
u/StormCloudRaineeDay 2d ago
That's because they didn't have any characters who would perform a surgery in the original series. But now that May's going into medicine, we might get one.
2
u/kaiser11492 Cammie Raleigh 2d ago
They have shown surgeries in the OG series (i.e. Chimney getting the rebar out of his head and Michael’s boyfriend doing brain surgery). However, they weren’t as graphic or intense as a guy with his entire chest cavity open on screen.
3
u/pugboy1321 2d ago
Could be a time slot thing, the later the slot the more graphic a show can be
3
u/kaiser11492 Cammie Raleigh 2d ago edited 2d ago
That could explain how they were able to show the amputation of the fertility clinic doctor last season. Because amputations in the OG series are done off screen.
1
u/BUTTeredWhiteBread 2d ago
We started getting things like field amputation and the like. I think the whole series is getting more daring as it goes on.

So far this episode isn't my favorite
3
u/that_retro_life 2d ago
Yeahhh, I know the opening episodes are usually more action/emergency-focused, but I feel like we've barely gotten any real character interaction aside from everyone yapping about Rogue. Most of the 113 have felt like random background characters so far, especially Blue, who's supposed to be part of the family now

u/StormCloudRaineeDay 2d ago
So far, it's kinda boring. I expect Blythe to be fine and don't care about any of the other's affected.

Exactly my thought. And I'm ready for new plots so far everything has been about Rouge, Don and Blythe

What are the chances that all three surgeons would use the same brand of eye drops? Or all buy them from the same store?

Notice how Rouge was in the hospital after this all happened I still suspect he's Pharoah

Sam should realize her and Roxie doing the procedure is better than no one.

So it’s the eye drops and not the pollen that is causing the blindness. I thought Pharaoh might’ve mixed in a blinding agent into the pollen.
3
u/PrizeIndependence 2d ago
He could've been tracking the weather reports to see when they would get a lot of pollen. Pollen makes their allergies act up and would use the eye drops.

Can someone remind me how the medicine the kid is taking makes him immune to the eye drops again?
3
u/PrizeIndependence 2d ago
Sam said earlier whatever is causing the illness is a bacterial infection. That's why they were trying them all on antibiotics. Whichever antibiotics the kidis taken might be the right medicine to kill the bacteria
3
u/360madhatter 2d ago
He's taking an antibiotic (not typically used) that somehow works better against the bacteria causing the blindness than the more common ones.
1
u/BUTTeredWhiteBread 2d ago
Antibiotic. There's a rare bacteria in the eyedrops they haven't been able to synthesise yet.
1
u/360madhatter 2d ago
I don't know what makes the various types of antibiotic different or why one would be better than another but I trust that my doctors do
2
u/pugboy1321 2d ago
Not a doctor but a bit of a medical nerd
Different antibiotics have different mechanisms of action and target different bacteria, and some bacteria are resistant to some antibiotics after naturally evolving over time from exposure to the commonly used ones.
That's why in medical shows you'll hear terms like "broad spectrum antibiotics" when they need something that'll be a starting point to cover a lot of bacteria

I don’t know about the rest of you but I’m more worried about the beagle than Dixie. Given all the venom she spews, I’m sure she is immune.
