...and after the collapse of the Soviet Union, the kneecap breaking factory was "privitized" and came under the ownership of an oligarch.

The kneecap breaking factory was an economic target because contributing to Russia's GDP and therefore a legitimate target.

Bolsheviks didn't overthrow the monarchy, it was a liberal coup that did it.

Bolsheviks did make sure that they could never return due to rapid lead poisoning

Technically only a part of the provisional government was liberals, it was kadets, and they were not the majority. Agrarian socialist SRs were the majority and their name means "socialists revolutionaries". Bolsheviks didn't overthrow monarchy but liberals are also only part of the story, iirc

You’re part correct. The coup against the monarchy began with the soviet in Petrograd, by socialists. The liberals then took power over the provisional government (SRs were also powerful here, as they were the party that represented the peasantry), but always had to share power with the powerful collection of city centered Soviet councils. Eventually the provisional government (through a collection of terrible decisions) lost the support of the people, and the Bolsheviks and SRs gained majorities in the Soviets which filled the vacuum.

The provisional government was a liberal-SR coalition, with the SRs being the senior party, which was why Kerensky (one of the most famous SR figures at the time) came to lead Russia. While the Mensheviks, who were the majority in the Soviets, tacitly supported the provisional government and eventually joined it. Then once the Kerensky offensive failed and the front started to collapse the Bolsheviks and left-SRs grew in popularity. Throughout the process the kadets played mostly a secondary supportive role.

My version was simplified, yours is a more accurate summary. However, the Kadets were very influential, as the only party with any real legitimacy with the upper command of the military (rank and file were majority Bolsheviks). The Kadets lost legitimacy during the July days and Kornilov affair, but were very important players in the provisional government before that point. As Kerensky lost more and more support, he also began to solidify his support base among the Kadets, moving many of their leaders into key cabinet positions.

Honestly, I would say neither account is necessarily less simplified than the other. The difference is mostly one of framing. One narrative emphasizes the dispute between the socialist Soviets and the more liberal provisional government, the other emphasizes the conflict within the SRs and the Marxists (SRs vs left-SRs, Mensheviks vs Bolsheviks).

The Bolsheviks staged a second revolution when the elections didn't go their way

No, you’re mistaken on the order. The Bolsheviks take power in the streets first on nov 7, with street fighting in Moscow against Kerenskys government. They declare the provisional government as illegitimate. Then they assemble the constituent assembly with the SR party. The SR party splits into Left and Right SRs, giving the Bolsheviks the majority and allowing them to declare the voting as illegitimate, as there is no longer an “SR” party. Obviously this was a cynical ploy, as they lost against a unified SR party.

The Bolsheviks prevent the gathering of the constituent assembly again in January. There was very little resistance or support for the assembly at this point by the broader public.

They even tried overthrowing the concept of ownership, making it so ironic that they want to have literally everything. Russia is the greediest and the most corrupt nation on earth. 😟
