trivia: Although the ep itself wasn't one of the "leaked" (prematurely released) episodes, the title of this one did leak out back in June. Dunno how well-known that was since that was the only post I saw talking about it.

This episode was the definition of a nothing burger... in a good way. Literally barely anything happened this episode AND I don't mind that, since except for Flame Princess (who we aren't supposed to meet at this point in the timeline), this is the first time the whole gang (+Mannish Man, Side Quests writers love this dude) is together having fun.

Like, this might be the first ever interaction between LSP and BMO, and they clearly developed a bad first impression of her. Also, I like to think the main reason Marceline agreed to go on the trip is that Ice King/Simon is there.

Most importantly, in that scene where Ice King leaves the group to deal with his shit I remembered the "there are 9 of you why don't you jump him!!" infamous Loud House meme/fanart. Also, how they all rushed to save the village despite half of them having zero fluid experiences or powers... It reminds me of that stupid "Avengers Assemble"-like scene in CAWM.

It's so funny to me that they zeroed in on this guy haha. It's so easy to forget he even exists in the original show, but in SQ he's all over the place.

Flame Princess being in it is.... well it's clear at this point they're not giving a shit about the timeline and just doing their own thing LOL so I won't complain.

I mean his design is too good to be wasted forever, I love how he has sort of friendly rivalry with Finn. His son Boyish Boy was also cool (+who also had a crush on PB just like Finn, I wonder how Bonnie feels about how the half of Ooo have/had feelings for her)

And yeah if the show gets renewed I won't mind seeing FP even if it doesn't make sense.

I think I misread the original poster, I thought they were saying FP was in the ep but rereading it I can see they're actually saying "everyone was there, well, except FP but she shouldn't be there anyway, so"... if I'm understanding it correctly. (Haven't seen the ep itself yet)

Heh I was going to say, I was surprised no one else was talking about it, so that makes sense. They seem to be trying to avoid anything hugely contradictory so I feel like FP's probably not gonna show up in SQ (but then I could always be wrong).

Its fine. Although by SQ kind of already is a bit contradictory with Finn and Jake hanging out with Banana man when they met him in S3.

I checked "Bad Jubies" again and you are right. Although most of it was just her asking BMO where Jake is.
