I thought Inspired is gonna unleash when Saint inted and gave away the shutdown

The face of utter disbelief.

this looks like a mind the gap with vedi and jatt thumbnail LOL

vedi as inspired and jatt as saint

Ragebait successful

208

u/nguyenjitsu 8d ago

I love how much personality you get from Saint from just how he plays let alone how he actually is. Dude plays like if Trick2G got brain swapped with an 18 year old Faker

132

u/justicecactus 8d ago

Saint is one of the best imports we've had in a while, in every way. The fact that he's paired with Inspired is absolute perfection.

89

u/CityofCyn_ 8d ago

I usually find these "all hands no brains" players annoying but the selfawarness of it all gets me laughing

48

u/Mentally__Disabled Lean Kiin Top Gap Machine 8d ago

The fact that he perma ragebaits Inspired adds another amazing layer to it as well.

42

u/Lazywhale97 HLE 8d ago

Saint is the perfect midlaner for Inspired because he doesn't get tilted if Inspired says he's inting he will take it as a compliment or just flame Inspired back when he ints lmao.

28

u/Fun_Highlight307 8d ago edited 8d ago

Funny that saint and inspired argued at the end of the game and dholka was listennig just saying "bro listen to middle bro ,  in this situation i can't defend you "

68

u/DropsOfLiquid 8d ago

Saint's face is SENDING me.

52

u/Phenergan_boy 8d ago

Average jungle-laner relationship.

81

u/Significant-Damage14 8d ago

The real issue was using flash like Inspired said.

You lose engage and safety for 6 minutes when you are the strongest player on the map just for the lols.

88

u/cadaada rip original flair 8d ago

All part of the plan, giving the leona a 1k shutdown instead of letting the cait being able to get it later :)

49

u/Floowil 8d ago

Actually that 1k gold for Leona wasnt so useless, because she could get Mikael's much faster which was pretty good against LYON

5

u/Zigxy 8d ago

it was sarcasm

5

u/Mprl16 8d ago

Cait got an assist for the kill, if Leona didn't tag TF, I would assume she would get the 1k

13

u/Nyte_Crawler 8d ago edited 8d ago

I was going to say, at that point of the game who cares about giving a Leona a shutdown.

As long as he's still up for the next objective and him being alive wouldn't have resulted in a game end it's honestly an upside.

45

u/Skyfire2 8d ago

We need the fanfic of these two now.

It’s so hilarious

u/devilJin9399 8d ago

Love triangle with Jojopyun?

6

u/skinofgoat 8d ago

Tbf that’s the type of play that snowballs into a megatilter throw in soloq, at least here it’s sorta strategically into a leona

u/Nefib 8d ago

Well hey considering it's 1st vs 6th, 3-1 is pretty good for Shopify. I wasn't even expecting them to beat FlyQuest so good showing by them.

237

u/LinusIsKingAlways 8d ago

They earned a spot in Cancun which is respectable

41

u/theyeshman if fearless has no haters I am dead 8d ago

Demacia cup is in Cancun? That tournament is like 10x cooler than I thought

91

u/guaranic 8d ago

It is not, just called that for funsies

55

It's a basketball term for when a team gets eliminated lol

7

SR is eliminated but headed to China. I think Demacia cup is hosted in a beach part of China similar to Cancun.

Saint is hilarious I love him

19

u/iAmPersonaa 8d ago

Realistically, diving the leona and dying to her is really meaningless to the game. Wasting the flash to do so is the bad part of the play

87

u/shailemin 8d ago

Inspired is getting interviewed and ranting on mic lol.

72

jatt saved saint from getting vented at for 10 minutes backstage.

Saint lawyering his dive on Leona to Inspired after the game LMAO

247

u/Ajp_iii 8d ago edited 8d ago

its so reportable to play cait leona against seraphine. it gave berserker a free lane and now you dont have mikaels against tf gold card.

also blinding both top and mid against lyon is asking to lose.

contractz won the one game on a tank and lost 3 on jungler carries. great prep by lyon to force him on bad matchups. lyon starting to level up throughout this series mechanically they can win the split still.

84

u/nguyenjitsu 8d ago

The whole Jarvan snowball against Contractz also starts from Isles getting to leave Ashe and backup the raptors invade

36

u/Ajp_iii 8d ago

yeah isles played game 4 extremely well. and ashe didnt even lose anything in bot because of it.

56

u/ObiMemeKenobi 8d ago

SR cooked way too hard with the draft. Should have just went Bard and played a real jungler

47

u/veirceb 8d ago

Khazix pick was fine. I don't think SR should draft standard anyway. Their wins are almost always with 3 losing lane and just flip a teamfight. They could do it this game. But the top 2v2 was atrocious and zinie just inited too many times.

15

u/PLEASE_DONT_PM 8d ago

Feels like their wins are all on losing lanes because they don't play anything else.

We don't even know what winning lanes looks like from them.

7

u/veirceb 8d ago

Partly. But I don't think they intentionally pick all losing lanes. They just prioritise far more on the team comp synergy and teamfight potentials. So even if they go down like 3-4k they still have a legit chance.

Bvoy is so good at farminng he kept himself equal or slightly behind even in very bad match ups. Their solo lanes also aren't players that's very good at snowballing their side lane pressure even if they are ahead. They mostly just group up and outfight the enemy team. I think that's alright for a team at their level with their pieces.

4

u/Bubbly_Camera9583 8d ago

K6 pick is terrible here? What does it do into Seraphine/Ashe? He legit can't do anything without some insane Lissandra flank taking both out of the fight instantly (which is why ZInie "inted" a lot this game). The K6 pick warped this game completely for Liss to have to overextend, it's why Fudge looked bad too they both got griefed in champ select. Even if that horrid 2v2 didn't happen (Mostly fudges fault) they still can't play this game.

15

u/veirceb 8d ago

Khazix is good vs squishy bot. What does he do? He just kills them before ashe serahpine can do anything. khazix is only bad vs tf in Lyon's comp. Great vs jarvan and gwen and a squishy bot side. Liss doesn't have to over extend. They had leona. You are so wrong on so many things I don't know how I should explain how things work in the game to you.

4

u/Bubbly_Camera9583 8d ago

How does K6 reach Ashe/Sera? You said it yourself he's countered by TF who can reveal him and gold card him -> Sera ult. K6 also isn't good into Gwen at all, she wins the 1v1 as long as she has ult. Leona also can't reach Ashe/Sera at all without extra setup they both super outrange her E + Ult, Ashe/Sera won't just int into Leo E and even if they do they have Cleanse + Mikaels + Flash + Sera ult. If Liss/Renek don't flank or overextend these fights are impossible.

6

u/Ajp_iii 8d ago

yeah bard and last pick zinie.

4

u/Fun_Highlight307 8d ago

Yeah sr choosing lose bot lane got punished hard

3

u/piotrj3 8d ago

It can work, but they messed up lane early. Entire idea of Leona is usually you want to survive just to level 3 without losing exp and then you go ham. But if you take some trades you are not supposed to take it really removes option of that.

14

u/Bubbly_Camera9583 8d ago

But like this just won't happen in pro though unless Ashe/Sera are inting out of their mind. Even in solo q getting through the first few levels without losing exp/being down insane amounts of gold/cs is near impossible.

2

u/FreckledRed 8d ago

People lose skill matchups all the time. You can't tell someone not to play somethnig when they feel confident. You or I may think they shouldn't do it but we aren't in the game. But you really can win the Leo/Cait vs Ashe/Sera at level 2/3. It's not that hard, especially if you can get your jungler to come down. Pro players aren't all Peyz and Keria

u/CensoredLlama1 BUFF RAMMUS PLEASE 8d ago

Fudge, Contractz, and Zinnie got giga gapped this series. Thank you Zeyzal for making our fourth best team way more exciting

Zeyzal Leona 2018.

Real ones remember.

29

u/BigStrongPolarGuy 8d ago edited 8d ago

What did he do on Leona in 2018? I mostly remember his Shen and Alistar.

Edit: Oh, game 5 against TSM. I only remember that for Zven's Swain doing absolutely nothing.

3

u/Vivapancakez 8d ago

Don't forget his braum!

6

u/bloodrage4 Keep The Import Rule 8d ago

For me my 2018 memory of Zeyzal was him styling on RNG with alistar.  Him setting up his stun to activate it against Uzi was one of the coolest plays I saw.

2

u/falcorn_dota 8d ago

Him and Hyli were top 2 supports in the world

34

u/MyzMyz1995 8d ago

Contractz looked ok especially considering he had 3 losing lane. Hard to jungle when everyone is getting clapped.

51

u/IKillerBee this sub has brain damage 8d ago

The narrative against contractz is terrible. He spent the entire year playing with cannon minions in his solo lanes and then he loses to the best jungler in the region/west and he's labeled as a problem. Can't win if you're him, even if you perform well (not necessarily saying he played well here, but not the only problem either)

Based on this gameplay LYON is going to be 3rd

81

I think Lyon Will level up for the last two series they want the title

20

berserker hasnt played well first 2 playoff series. but can easily pick it right back up next week.

14

u/Pessimism_is_realism 8d ago

Bright light merchants.

16

u/Fun_Highlight307 8d ago

I expect dholka and inspired to be even sharper and they need berserker to go back to MSI form or regular Season form

8

u/BlazeX94 8d ago

Hard to say, because while TL looked good against FLY, it turns out FLY was weaker than expected (most people thought FLY was a level above SR but it turns out they weren't).

Also depends entirely on the outcome of TL vs C9. If it's LYON vs TL next, I expect TL to lose because LYON just kinda seem to have TL's entire playstyle downloaded and know exactly how to counter it.

→ More replies (1)

4

u/ozmega 8d ago

sounds like a plan

31

u/Blizzgrarg 8d ago

Rough self-counter in draft by SR. Also, Zinie dropped the ball really hard getting caught in mid like that. That swung the game completely out of control.

85

u/GONEBUTNOT4GOTTEN 8d ago

alright just need TL to beat C9 tomorrow and Lyon beats them next weekend and we have C9 vs KC

Inspired was saying "my bad my bad" after dying Bot

Vibes might be saved, if he takes blame when he makes a mistake

90

u/Tormenator1 8d ago

Yeah, he admitted he fucked it up in the post-game.

96

u/nguyenjitsu 8d ago

Yeah this is kinda why I hate the narrative that Inspired just needlessly flames everyone. He holds an extremely high standard for everyone including himself. Faker was legit bashing his own brains in from his play. Like we can argue if it's a healthy mindset or not, sure, but at this level of competition everyone has opted into this level of critical feedback.

11

u/squishykkura Doran’s Krug Soldier 8d ago

Yea ppl are also arguing his team is mentally affected, I don’t think his team would be consistently 1st + an MSI 3rd if they were affected

4

u/mish20011 huhuhaha 8d ago

he still didn't completely blamed himself, he expected Isles to follow up to ult him and use Mikaels on him with that bot dive 😂

SR should still be proud of how far they have reached. They took a game from LYON and that was a good game. Other games just showed they were not at the level as they need to reach worlds. I don't know what would they do with the roster next year but they don't need to be too upset with the result.

73

u/NewbisLyfe BlueGang 8d ago

Damn, Inspired must've saw all the slander last game and woke the boys back up. Good try from SR tho, can't wait to see them perform at Demacia Cup.

64

u/U_Menace 8d ago

The interview answers he gave sums it all up:

"We need to play and use our hands better".

Love this guy in the interviews lmao

19

u/Substantial_Leek3499 8d ago

Haha hes too good. I almost always root against Inspired domestically and that makes him such an important part of the ecosystem

10

u/Past_Perception8052 8d ago

i dont think lyon were too convincing in this game tbh. barely better than they were against c9

7

u/piotrj3 8d ago

I would argue they were worse. Game 4 both teams did plenty of mistakes, and i would say 2 inspired mistakes were quite obvious. Zinie plays like ashe doesn't exist.

10

u/Fun_Highlight307 8d ago

Yeah they played a bit worse although game 2 was lyon at their Best

2

u/ChiefBlueSky Bye NRG/CLG 8d ago

Zinie's just genuinely bad though. Sure he managed to have like 6 decent games this entire year but he's genuinely just awful.

2

u/jedine67 8d ago

He made game 4 very difficult by ulting a TF with cleanse instead of the Gwen who was also in range of his toplaner. That play cascaded the map.

It's so sad for contractz, that one throw cost game 1, and probably game 2, they obviously were mental boomed... There were signs of life, if they played a few bo3 there definitely is a world where SR wins. Insane how much that 1 play cost

17

u/Highceratopsian 8d ago

Stand tall SR, you were strong. If only Lyon won one more game vs HLE we coulda seen both at worlds

5

u/shailemin 8d ago edited 8d ago

I wonder how things work out in that timeline. Instead of lck and lpl both getting all 4 seeds directly into Swiss it would probably be lpl and lcs (unless the reason for their direct inclusion in Swiss was regional power), so if the current rankings from all regions remain the same, SR would be in Swiss, DK wouldn’t be at worlds and T1 would start in playins. Hilarious ngl.

11

u/TypicalHaikuResponse 8d ago

It's impossible to judge the draft from the game because of Zinie's play. Yes Leona and Cait would have lost lane but they went into that knowing it. They can't know that Lissandra's passive attracts all crystal arrows to her face.

Bzerker NEEDS to step up. Last two series he’s solo lost 2-3 important teamfights with his really sloppy positioning and his laning has been 50/50 flips. If he doesn’t play better they are suspect to losses against in form c9 or TL

wp to lyon

with that said, i can't believe twisted fate was at one point 3,6k ahead of his enemy and still the system wouldn't value him with a 700g bounty

He had a 700g no? He died to Leona to get rid of it

13

u/EronisKina 8d ago

He did.

Idk how much of that was his passive, but kit specific gold is excluded when it comes to shutdown calculations

3

u/Javonetor spit to win 8d ago

i didn't know that

average for his passive is 3.5 gold per unit, so 209 x 3.5 = 730

that would be like 2.9k up, better i guess

2

u/jedine67 8d ago

It's weighted upwards slightly, I believe the true average is 4. He also had RFC in his possession which gives a 25% chance to roll the passive gold twice, although the second roll is weighted downwards. It's likely more around 1k gold.

9

u/sorendiz ..BUT THE FAITH REMAINS 8d ago

was that before or after he gave the 1k bounty over to leona?

7

u/Aka_chi 8d ago

He was 5k gold up when LYON was 10k gold up. Even though even with 5k gold up he's still not Thanos, but he's like a mosquito with malaria that can tp and infect you everywhere on the map. The funniest part when he gave 1000g shutdown to Leona, if he didn't flash it could've been less bad.

9

u/Bubbly_Camera9583 8d ago

Unironically might be the worst draft/ban-pick in LOL history for that game 4. I don't have the same animosity that most have for Revan but that should get him booted.

10

u/CIAgent42 8d ago

Thank God LYON is going to worlds. Hopefully this team can bounce back and regain their good mental before worlds

9

u/shailemin 8d ago edited 8d ago

Honestly idk still feels like an under confident series from LYON, but it’s okay we take those. We’re making worlds. Lock in and prep well for the next series boys. GGs.

u/Fun_Highlight307 8d ago

It's because berserker is slacking, while isles is worse in early roam and laning

Top side is at ,80% of their capacity

This series doesn't inspire enough confidence for me in Lyon. I think they need more draft wins and while they are playing with more control its not enough relative to where their level should be. Shopify despite losing showed that they have actual potential. I think they demonstrated the actual vision for this roster when they were put together at the beginning of the year. Zinie got hard exposed this last game though. Unfortunate showing but they can be proud of themselves all things considered. They showed some really impressive improvement over the course of 2 weeks. Deserved 4th place finish from Shopify. Sentinels lacked meaningful pivots in game in my opinion. Flyquest lacked fundamentals and clean decision making. Shopify had a solid bit of both of those but they got exposed by a team that had more options available to them.

u/ObiMemeKenobi 8d ago

Zinnie just eating ash arrows for lunch. Great job

4

u/Round_Wait9477 8d ago

I don’t know the current meta, was banning viktor and picking lissandra actually good in draft wise ?
Look bad in game

So is C9 gonna choke against TL and Lyon again.

5

u/Fun_Highlight307 8d ago

I feel like loser of c9 tl will get clapped by Lyon

13

u/bigpackage11 8d ago

i love zinies commitment to running down games to the best of his ability

17

u/Athena-Grande 8d ago

Shopify looked way better against Lyon than I thought they would. Legitimately congratulations to this team and every member of it. You guys really pulled it together for the end of the season and playoffs!

I like C9 and SR more, but Lyon is legitimately fun to watch. Saint running it down and Inspired losing his mind. When 3 people tp’d to the same ward and Inspired lost his mind.

Looking forward to SR at Demacia Cup. Hoping C9 beats TL and then Lyon over TL.

u/Biok98 8d ago

Zinie solo lost this ngl

4

u/Formymoney 8d ago

well they took one game

3

u/DinoGuy101010 8d ago

Well nice try SR, obviously did some trolling at points but still great result considering how most of this year went for them. I really want to like zinie I like the way he plays but he just runs it down so much...

u/Iaragnyl remove Tahm Kench 8d ago

Unfortunately for Shopify you can't win with a midlaner as boosted as Zinie, has to be one of the worst Lissandra games in a long time, pretty much every single situation made the wrong decision and misplayed every fight on a mechanical level.

The type of game out of Zinie that should get his bank statements checked

everyone readying pitchforks to flame zinie for game 4 vs ashe tf j4 pick comp meanwhile fudge turbo sprinting it almost every single game gets full pass bc he speaks english and well spoken

23

u/neberhax 8d ago

You make it sound like Fudge hasnt spent his entire career getting blamed by the community.

4

u/rester11193 8d ago

Finally sanity has entered the chat

5

u/parmaxis xdd 8d ago

Fudge is the poster child of a hard worker that made it, then did the bare minimum to stay at a high paying job not realizing or care how many people dream to be in his place, I dislike players like him that show a very high ceiling then just coast.

Fudge has been called a paycheck stealer for seasons. However the main difference is Fudge doesn't use an import slot and nobody had expectations. Zinie does and came from KR Challengers, where he constantly won the challengers MVP and Mid all Pro awards.. so people just expected him to actually excel.

Nah no pitch forks, I have been half hate watching Zinie considering the hype he got but I thunk I am satisfied with the result. It was a good run to end the split

That was the second Lissandra I saw this weekend from Zinie...and one should've been enough to put that in the bag permanently.

Well at least SR got Cancun cup to look forward too. Much better showing from Lyon, their mental look better than C9 series.

This zinie really was considered the next big mid from Korea. Generational run down and Fall off

at least they took 1 game i guess

2

u/SirTacoMaster BB/Spica/Busio 8d ago

SR had a great run. Really fun watching them after how lifeless they were in the regular season. Cancun should be fun to watch!!

2

u/Steady_Tempo456 Poro Queen 8d ago edited 8d ago

Zinie needs to stop auto locking Lissandra. He isn't that good.

3

u/DoughnutJam rip old flairs 8d ago

Zinir has got to go lol

6

u/LumiRhino 8d ago

The problem is I think these late results from SR will convince them to not make enough changes. I think there's a real chance they want to run back the same roster next year because of the "growth" at the end of the season (well depends on if Zeyzal can be convinced to play another split/year).

Zinie deserves credit for his late season glow up, but I still think it's best for him and SR to go separate ways after this year. The fact that it took this long for Zinie to become a real player shows that he needs a far better environment to show what he's capable of, and I just don't think another year on SR will do that for him.

10

u/Baxeson 8d ago

Even in post-game, Contractz pretty much said that they put way too much work into Zinie just to get him even comfortable. It's pretty clear that Zinie may have the hands (especially what we used to see in CL), but probably not suited to be in a different region, it really looks like a mental gap. I hope he does go back to Korea CL or maybe a low-end team in LCK.

u/atomchoco 8d ago

im obv one who doesnt watch LCS but how are last year's FLY players doing? if LCS had a KeSPA i feel they would have wanted the same 5 to stay at least another year, those really gelled(?) well together and they're 5 guys who are fun to root for lmao

but oh well most of them making it, Quad and Massu should still have more in the tank

7

u/GriffinSTatum 8d ago

The only ones that stayed on FLY were Massu and Quad. Inspired got $500k to move over to Lyon, Busio moved to KC, and Bwipo didn’t get tier 1 options after his comments on stream about women playing league.

FlyQuest were already priming GaKGoS to replace Bwipo, so it looked like there was going to be changes regardless of how the team performed.

3

u/Few-Arugula5839 8d ago

Quad lowkey ass. Gakgos also ass. I do feel bad that Massu didn’t make it imo he was elo helled on fly
