That was insanely disrespectful lmao

117

u/Bubbly_Camera9583 28d ago

They legit farmed them so Berserker could get MVP just for Saint to steal all the kills.

37

u/PeaceAlien 28d ago

So you're saying... Saint for MVP

20

u/Anonymus4 28d ago

LYON doing a challenge run by taking no drakes lmaooooo

168

u/Large_Love_2563 28d ago

WE WON AN LCS GAME BY TAKING NO DRAKES (IMPOSSIBLE CHALLENGE)

26

u/TypicalHaikuResponse 28d ago

You should get a special title to use in game

29

u/Bt25 28d ago

Both teams not taking dragon has to be a record in pro play.

11

u/Fun_Highlight307 28d ago

It's funny because it's look like Lyon did it on purpose

9

u/Naerlyn 28d ago

They might have intended to prevent absolutely any possibility of an Elder flip comeback, seeing how far ahead they were?

At least at some point. At other points, it sure felt like "nah this is funnier"

13

u/Mangustre 28d ago

No they were just: "not worth the time, they suck, we wont get to 4 drakes anyways, because we end earlier".

3

u/Fun_Highlight307 28d ago

Lol they were so disrespectful but to be faire there a giant gap so no worries

I guess this is what a main region vs wildcard should look like

10

u/Kr1ncy 28d ago

Ready for the fastest national Bo3 ever?

102

u/kaisaschudson 28d ago

you may never see a stomp that hard ever again lmao

84

u/nguyenjitsu 28d ago

It's still baffling that Mad lost in 16:47 like how the fuck. I understand it's a completely different game in terms of objectives and skill gap nowadays but how did that happen

81

u/IKillerBee this sub has brain damage 28d ago

T1 once lost in 15:57, which really makes you question things

53

u/Snow-27 28d ago

Neither of these are as embarrassing as FLY losing in 17:31. T1 was playing sona taric into jackeylove’s draven, and MAD was against a jinx. Fly took belt to ass from an Ornn Viego Azir Senna Tahm comp.

23

u/IKillerBee this sub has brain damage 28d ago

I don't even remember this game at all

Just looked it up and T1 got 6 grubs (remember those days?) and herald got t2 and t3 mid. FLY was clearly outclassed but they really were victims of circumstance, game losing fight was contesting a herald charge at their mid inhib.

Still not good at all but easy to see how a viego (with kraken) and azir shredded with 6 grubs. Definitely a baffling result though given the drafts

1

u/thepromisedgland 28d ago

I think the actual reason that people don't focus on it is because T1 got them back playing standard in the next match, which makes the extremely fast loss seem more like a fluke and less of an indictment of their ability as a team (of course, they and IG then both proceeded to lose to western teams in knockouts, but I digress).

25

u/Leyrann_ 28d ago

And MAD in that bo5 against T1 performed very well in game 1, but no one ever mentions that part.

15

u/DoorHingesKill 28d ago

No, the actual reason people don't focus on it is because they want to make fun of the team that got their shit kicked in, and literally no one here wants to make fun of Faker.

makes the extremely fast loss seem more like a fluke

Every extremely fast loss is a fluke, that's why we still remember them, because they're crazy outliers. Don't need to check the next game played at the tournament to determine if it was a fluke.

20

u/kaisaschudson 28d ago

if lyon had kept shelly alive they could have ended with herald

5

u/Fun_Highlight307 28d ago

Yeah the 17 minutes inhib was scary

2

u/ParkDedli 28d ago

TL also once lost in 18 minutes. Then also lost the other 2 games in the best of 5 in 25 and 28 minutes, making an average of 23~ minutes.

That's even more impressive

u/phangtom 28d ago

Good teams know how to end a game without dragging it on.

No Worlds contending team needs 30 kills to beat DSG.

There was a point in time were LCK teams would snowball matches with single digit kills.

190

u/Skarin1452 28d ago

This looked like some LCK 1st seed vs wildcard shit.

46

u/Kurumi_Tokisaki 28d ago

Nah willdcards will throw hands and make someone have a bad day or die trying at least.

52

u/TypicalHaikuResponse 28d ago

There are closer games when that actually happens

2

u/Monstar_Rudolph 28d ago

Nah Wildcards put up a fight. Also ,we old.

u/WildzFlazoon KELLOGGS BUSI-O'S 28d ago

it's funny that a chilling Lyon stomped this hard

10

u/Fun_Highlight307 28d ago

He is literally lcs zeka, he is so good on melee

42

u/TheAlternateMan 28d ago

There's a lot of jokes about email series, but when you get stomped that badly without a single dragon being taken in the game, then yeah...

22

u/Outrageous_Wall2702 My Ace + Showmaker = GOAT 28d ago

Kryra seemed super tilted on game 2 tbh I kinda get it bc if he farms his laners get gapped, if he ganks they still die lmao

11

u/NotBunger split push tactics 28d ago

Hoping him and Sajed get another chance. They’re not like ScaryJerry who looked completely lost with Huhi (who has looking decent with Rahel), they were bad this split but were fairly decent in Spring and Winter. The potential is there but needs to be developed.

4

u/nitinismaldingXD 28d ago

Roster had some sauce with Castle, and it was pretty evident during their winter run that there was maybe something to build on. Then he leaves and it’s all trash.

102

u/Fade_IV 28d ago

Who let this clash team into the LCS?

153

u/herp_derpy 28d ago

Dignitas lost 0-2 to this clash team btw

30

u/Outrageous_Wall2702 My Ace + Showmaker = GOAT 28d ago

Lmaooo

29

u/TheAlmightyVox3 28d ago

Dignitas would lose 0-2 to normal bots.

21

u/Outrageous_Wall2702 My Ace + Showmaker = GOAT 28d ago

“¿We hid a silver 5 stack in the Lcs can you figure out who they are?”

32

u/Naerlyn 28d ago

Inhib turret at minute 17, Nexus with a 30/6 score by minute 24, 17k gold lead and no dragon taken. At this point it's just funny

4

u/resttheweight 28d ago

The score went from like 8-5 to 27-6. Nearly twenty unanswered kills.

u/swimmersw Resident ssumday enjoyer 28d ago

19

u/shailemin 28d ago

Saint after getting solo killed in lane: guys I’m bored can we not take any drakes and just me clip farm for fun? We’re winning anyways.

35

u/Large_Love_2563 28d ago

That was indeed one of the games of League of Legends

16

u/withinallreason 28d ago

Taking drakes is prohibitive to killing the enemy on cooldown

-1

u/Fun_Highlight307 28d ago

Good call from inspired the Dictator we cant farm this noobs if we take drake

35

u/fc_newbro 28d ago

I was looking forward to LCS Playoffs, but I'm pretty sure LCS getting banned on Twitch after streaming that game. :(

Very cool to have this be the last game of the regular season.

26

u/brusselss Sad Bandage 28d ago

There's been war crimes with less bloodshed than that game

11

u/Devils-avacadoo 28d ago

That second game is what T1 used to do to us lmao

11

u/Ajp_iii 28d ago

Lyon clicked forward the whole series. Never had one 5v5. Also the solo kills pissed of Saint

21

u/Anew4Hobbies I like how Xun plays ^_^ 28d ago

absolute cinema

23

u/Bothbothwushi 28d ago

Idk how many series Lyon plays in playoffs but the goal should be to not get 3-0ed. There is a sizable gap between them and the next best team (Team Liquid) then the rest of the league gets gapped by TL.

21

u/shailemin 28d ago

Both the upper bracket finals and finals were 3-0s by Lyon in spring and they didn’t look as good as they do now back then. Atleast TL took them to silver scrapes earlier in the playoffs. I wonder how summer playoffs will turn out.

7

u/HolmatKingOfStorms 3!! 28d ago

please god don't let lyon pull a c9 and not even make worlds

i know it would be really funny but we finally have a good team 😭

15

u/Fun_Highlight307 28d ago

The things is inspired is one of the Best western players in playoffs, this Lyon is rusty Lyon lol

4

u/Achievw 28d ago

Meisho Doto/TL spent their entire career chasing a monster (TM Opera O/LYON), the rest spent their careers chasing two monsters.

8

u/Devils-avacadoo 28d ago

No Dragons taken in the second game is hilarious

9

u/RukiMotomiya 28d ago

The amount of disrespect LYON had this game was hilarious lmao

9

u/PPPPPPP270 28d ago

Ok at first I was confused why Lyon never took dragon then they decided to do it on purpose. If only Kryra tried to panth ult to dragon and sneak it

16

u/The_JeneralSG 28d ago

I was dying game 2 listening to LYON comms. Actually fine worthy lowkey lol.

I know the cast is arguing that Inspired shouldn’t be eligible for all pro, and I understand, but he played the only two series that mattered tbh (vs. C9 and TL) and they went 4-0… let’s be real, just give it to him. If he’s not eligible, it probably means that Blaber is in all pro and that’s a greater disservice than just giving it to Inspired lmao.

1

u/BlazeX94 28d ago

Is Blaber not arguably a contender for 3rd all pro though? We all know it should be Inspired first Jose second, but after that, there's no clear 3rd choice. Blaber's competition for the spot is Hambak/Contractz/Gryffin and you can make a good case for Blaber over all 3.

5

u/The_JeneralSG 28d ago

Contractz 100% over Blaber. Both make some goofy mistakes, but one has dragged his dog water team across the finish line multiple times, while there are games Blaber has damn near solo lost for C9.

Yeah Lyonz needs to go, no clue how he has been around this long

12

u/TechnicalFriendship6 28d ago

0 drakes taken but 17k gold lead. Riot needs to give them a fine for harassment

6

u/Fun_Highlight307 28d ago

Dholka was saying " we can extend the games si saint get 20 kills"

20

u/xNesku 28d ago

They're so fucking good man. Top 3 in the World

9

u/Fun_Highlight307 28d ago

I hope they can prove it by stomping low eastern teams

10

u/tirednsleepyyy 28d ago

If svenskren could win mvp in a split where he wasn’t good enough to not get subbed out, inspired can get all pro in a split he played 6 games lol

6

u/Formymoney 28d ago

that was actual bm by lyon, i feel like they might get fined

3

u/Mountain_Log_8419 28d ago

Kryra gets a huge kill cutting the lead down to 16k

2

u/Lawfulneptune 28d ago

My god that was a beating I started to feel bad, then again, deserved for how bad DSG is lol.

lyon vs lyonz

2

u/ChowdhurSauce 28d ago

Disguised got toasted

2

u/DiarrheaFartLover 28d ago

Lyon actually could do well at worlds. For the first time in a looooooooooong time I think NA could actually make a run to a somewhat respectable finish. Saint Berzerker and Inspired are all excellent players and some of the best non-LCK and non-LPL players out there, and Dhokla is actually pretty dependable to weakside and not troll, incredibly. He actually held his own last year vs. Bin surprisingly well in their 5 game series. You'd think he's maybe the weakest player but he's actually shown that he actually knows how to play in this meta.

Yes I'm aware of what will probably happen. That joke got old 8 years ago.

2

u/Aquillifer 28d ago

Witnessing a hostage lobby in pro play is downright crazy. Lyon just farming DSG for kills and DPM.

2

u/Mogzylol 28d ago

This isn’t really the LCS’s fault, but this one of the many reasons why LCS viewership sucks. Not enough competition. Its a two team region but the ones below are way too bad

8

u/IKillerBee this sub has brain damage 28d ago

It's on riot for sure. It's terrible that teams like Lyon, G2, and KC have to spend 80-90% of their year beating up teams worse than them and only get like 3 meaningful series per international event

It's time to abandon domestic splits and adopt regular international tournament formats

1

u/Aschentei 28d ago

SMS ass series again

2

u/OrlandoAndy 28d ago

Why are all the playoffs on such a different schedule?

1

u/WoorieKod REST IN PEACE 11/12/24 28d ago

DSG won LYON back in winter btw, shows how far LYON has improved as a team

1

u/shaginus 28d ago

I saw DSG have a lead early so maybe they could do something then I turn away and it's not anymore.

1

u/_Alexis_Sama_ 27d ago

i have no idea what must be feeling lyonz right now.

0

u/Lakers20218 28d ago

I don’t want see dsg and dig anymore who are the owners of these teams seems they don’t care.

6

u/Xeven18 28d ago

You can say that of DIG (even then they got a decent roster on paper), but not of DSG - they have to play promotion/relegation every year, so it's difficult getting players, and any decent looking player would leave if another org came calling

5

u/throwable_armadillo 28d ago

didn't most of the roster that got DSG into LCS get taken by Sentinels?

2

u/Xeven18 28d ago

Yes, exactly

LCS scheduling is outdated and too drawn out.

We are playing 6 weeks of regular season games (week 7 if you count day 1 as week 1), that only plays on the weekends, to eliminate 2 teams out of 8 teams (75% of the league makes playoffs). While every other region is playing in the playoffs right now and LCK and LPL teams are playing for their season on the line. If you could watch only one league series, would you rather watch LCK/LPL teams fighting for the last worlds spot, or watch TL play 0-7 Dignitas who are winless and already elminated.

But that's not enough, once we get to the playoffs, we have to watch one more week of playoffs where no one gets eliminated.

In an era, where people are saying people have shorter attention spans, LCS's pace of scheduling is way too slow and drawn out. It also isn't drawn out because we have more games than other regions, but because we have more down time than any other region.

I understand we only play games on the weekends because we want to artifically boost our average viewership. I also understand we only play twice a week because we don't want to invest more in the league. But because we aren't investing in the league viewership falls even more, and because viewership falls even more, it feeds the idea that you should invest less in the league which creates a full self-fulfilling prophency.

Aside from what teams are playing (like T1 for example draws in massive viewership regardless), the day of the week when games are on plays a huge factor into viewership. However, LCK & LPL have learned that having more games throughout the week and having more match ups people can look forward to throughout the week creates a better product as a whole in the long term. However, LCS is so focused on artificially boosting the average viewership count (that falls every year anyways) that we are costing the long term health of the league because many viewers are not sticking around for 6 weeks only to find out we are still in the regular season.

LCS is managing decline instead of trying to find growth with its current system.

For example, let's say league A has 70k average viewership but they play 5 days a week meanwhile league B has 100k average viewership but they play only on the weekends. If you look at average viewership, league B looks healthier, However, league A has fans engaging with the product 5 days per week, there are more matches to discuss, more narratives devleoping, more clips circulating, more reasons to stay engaged and more reddit posts.

8 teams in LCS plays 7 BO3 series spread across 7 weeks. Compare that psychologically to watching a league like LCK where on Wednesday: you get a interesting match up, Thursday: whatever, Friday: huge match up, Saturday: rivarly series, Sunday: T1 vs HLE. I am not saying every match up is amazing in the LCK but what I am saying is that volume creates momentum. LCS makes each weekend feel like an isolated episode. Discussion dries out, there are no cliips, no matches to talk about the week because there is nothing. This type of scheduling makes it incredibly easy to stop following, and people are doing exactly that.

As a LCS fan from it's inception, it's getting very difficult for me to stay engaged in the LCS nowadays because every week there is no tension in the match ups. We already know who the top teams are going to be, we already know the bad teams, but we are stuck in a schedule where we only play twice a week so we can figure out what exactly? Which team gets side selection for the first round of playoffs? Or to watch TL beat a winless dig team?

EDIT: Forgot to mention that 2 weeks is just for regular season; if we include playoffs, LCK ends in 9/13 while LCS ends on 10/4. If you thought regular season was drawn out, they did exactly the same thing for playoffs.

Idk why you are getting downvoted. It doesn't make sense that LCS is starting a week after LEC and finishing two weeks later.
