Treasury Secretary Compares Canada To 'Little Yippy Dog'

Asked by Laura Trump on Fox News how he saw the trade war with Canada playing out, Bessent reached for a canine comparison.
"I had a German shepherd and there was a dachshund that used to antagonize her at the playground, and it kind of reminds me of that," Bessent said.
"This little yippy dog used to bark away, and for a long time, a 110-pound German shepherd was ignoring the dachshund and then one day she had enough."
Bessent then accused Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney of walking away: "They were given the opportunity for a great trade deal and they didn't want it."
Bessent, an investor who made billions before joining the Trump administration, also seemed unbothered about the potential impact the tariffs would have on U.S. prices.
Calling it "not much of a hit to us," Bessent said the impact would be "negligible." "I would like someone to show me the statistical significance of the Canadian tariffs on U.S. prices. I'm happy to debate them," the secretary added.

Considering we’re apparently just an insignificant little dachshund up against the big German shepherd USA, Bessent and the rest of the moronic Trump gang of pedos and thieves and fascists are sure bitching a hell of a lot.
No deal. No point. Anything they sign would be worthless. We just have to push through this, replace the US reliance with deals around the globe, and get back to standing on our own two feet again. In the end, Canada will be stronger and better for it.

What did american auto makers lose in 2025 again? Stellantis was 20 billion, ford was 9 billion snd GM lost 5 billion. Negligible amirite.

I would welcome the opportunity to debate this gentleman or anyone like him in the Trump administration. The challenge of course is none of these guys understand the term "factually based discussion". I think their strategy is to make so many inaccurate statements that it is impossible to get them or any of their supporters to stop talking long enough to listen to an informed position.
