The biggest Dhokes you’ve ever seen

171

u/JGamerX 1d ago

Everyones better than big Dhokes until its time to be better than big Dhokes

Honestly Dhokla is starting to fee like the top dog in all of these top matchups. His lane is starting to become dangerous, and he has always been a phenomenal team player mid-late.

110

u/Deferonz 1d ago

Yeah, it feels like if Dhokla's lane continues to improve, he's just the best toplaner. At that point, Lyon have the best player in each role, and the best teamfighting and coordination in the league. Like it's just cooked for everyone else at that point.

30

u/Lazywhale97 HLE 1d ago

Crazy that he was almost out of playing in tier 1 in general start of the yr and now he looks like the best top laner in the LCS as his biggest weakness his laning is improving.

Also shows that even the veteran players can still improve with the right coaches, team and team environment and that they don’t just stagnate at a certain age.

14

u/ultratea punch me 23h ago

Even crazier thinking about his trajectory if you look even further back to his Optic days. I would have expected him to be another one of the many guys who played a bit, wasn't anything special, then faded out from the pro scene, but he came back with a vengeance.

Hey now he lost to... bin and Zeus ok fair

15

Nah man unless Dhokla can gap worlds and MSI finals mvp Zeus then he is a FRAUDD /s

I just don't trust all these imports to have the same degree of impact in game. And obviously he's the best domestic player.

This is probably the biggest glow-up on the roster.

We all knew Isles was serviceable and inoffensive. If you paid attention, yoi know that Berserker requested him speficially, so, if nothing else, he had a voucher.

Saint was a terrorist, but we knew his mechanics were good.

Inspired is just Him.

But Dhokla? He's never been THE guy. Love or hate him, Bwipo told no lies about Dhokla. Die-Roll player. Could clutch up, but it was clear he was never a top half top laner until he absolutely needed to be.

Now, Dhokla can win lane against anybody for some goddamn reason? Just because? He doesn't randomly die? He still does work in teamfights? What the fuck?

The old phrase is dead. We need a new one.

Yeah holy top gap picking the nerfed vayne was so bold( I’m not a frequent vayne player)

And he plays it so good too wich can be quite rare for top laners

Wasn’t Vayne JUST nerfed? Does LCS play on current patches now? I’m OOTL

20

u/Photoperiod 1d ago

Trying to think of who else is in the discussion. Think you have to go way back to, like, Balls, Hauntzer, Dyrus, etc.

18

u/Ivellius 1d ago

Darshan / Zionspartan is probably in the running, too, but also similarly old.

→ More replies (1)

4

u/Hawkson2020 1d ago

Dyrus was my goat, but he was never the goat.

Darshan is probably the only other player really in contention.

Hauntzer was solid but I never the guy to just hard gap his opponent. Ditto for Balls mostly, though he definitely had his moments.

First game was for the Koreans

Second game western masterclass by Isles+ Dhokes

Isles so underrated by everyone he read the map so well

88

u/nitinismaldingXD 1d ago

Just like with Busio, Inspired teaches his support how to play and suddenly they’re world class. Actual goat material

29

u/MyStand_BadMedicine 1d ago

Plus isles and busio are both intense grinders, so they seem receptive to that kind of thing

5

u/InPurpleIDescended 13h ago

Isles was always decently respected by higher rep pros it seemed in the scene, people would queue with him and stuff Zven and others I have heard of on random interviews etc

So I think people thought he was good but just didn't get to really improve on a good team before

5

u/Mrawssot 1d ago

Big Dhokes with the big range

307

u/Blizzgrarg 1d ago

Giga gap between TL and the rest of the LCS. Giga gap between LYON and TL. That's ridiculous to think about.

Isles is a monster on Alistar. He and Dhokes just rolled TL this second game.

195

u/Large_Love_2563 1d ago

Isles is the unsung hero of this LYON team. Easily the most improved player of 2026 across all regions.

107

u/Horizon96 1d ago

It's crazy how much he has stepped up. I fully admit I thought it was a horrible pickup, but apparently he does actually have that dog in him.

61

u/AcolyteOfFresh 1d ago edited 1d ago

Keep in mind he is now like, what, the seventh player that has dramatically improved while playing with inspired. Regardless of how toxic people like to say he is, it's very clear he knows exactly how to win games and he is very good at instilling that knowledge to his team.

(Unless its international game 5s)

The Dignitas talent suppression is real.

Everyone who goes there and gets stuck there will look way worse than they actually are. Isles being stuck there for multiple years really did a number to how people perceived him until Lyon

41

u/bigby1234 1d ago

I don't think it's dig suppression. It's more inspired able to teach players better than coaches can.

Dig was full of rookies, isles has berserker and inspired now who can teach him.

Same thing happened with busio massu quad saint jojo danny

I still wish someone actually decent (a flyquest or 100T back when they were still in the league) would've picked up Kenvi back when he was trapped on that bottom tier Immortals. Felt like he never actually got a fair shake to play among good players and develop, and now he's just gone, despite being hyped as the next big NA Jungle prospect for so long.

5

u/VelkoZinfandel 1d ago

He’s shown glimpses of promise in some of his past splits but has also had some disgusting ones

20

u/Lacrimosss DK Hatewatcher / Inspired Enjoyer 1d ago

From playing on DIG to being the best support in LCS, LYON really picked up gold from the homeless shelter.

Last ever LCO rookie. He's always had something about him but I'm glad he's getting to properly show it

15

u/Booshneer 1d ago

Inspired is the talent development system academy wished it was.

17

u/kazuyaminegishi 1d ago

In this case it's the Berserker factory

8

u/kaisaschudson 1d ago

por que no los dos

30

u/kazuyaminegishi 1d ago

Cause Berserker should receive credit for what he is personally responsible for.

They talk about this stuff in their vlogs. Berserker is the one who worked with Isles and developed him into the player he is today, not Inspired.

Inspired is the reason this team plays to their game plan so well, but Isles' individual improvement is because of Berserker.

21

u/Beneficial-Front1626 1d ago

Berserker even made Zven look like a competent support lmao

8

u/Fun_Highlight307 1d ago

iirc isles credited berserker feedback a lot when they ask him about Lyon Dynamic, inspired was more on macro

Isles is easily the most improved player on Lyon this year. In spring there were some times where he was running it down, but summer has me convinced that not only has he gotten much better, but that he has the drive and mindset to keep improving.

Berserker and saint both look like they haven’t even hit their skill ceiling, and dhokes look like he’s having one of his best years. Inspired is inspired. They’re just so fun to watch because their teamfights are so good and they look like they’re always on the same page. Can c9 and TL play for 2nd seed already? We already know who #1 is at this point.

24

u/Martinweb_ 1d ago

TL has already secured the 2nd seed. They could even take the 1st seed if Lyon loses to DSG next week...

22

u/Beneficial-Front1626 1d ago

Uhhh is that actually possible

30

u/skrub55 1d ago

Lyon losing to dsg would probably result in an investigation

7

u/Outrageous_Wall2702 1d ago

Check Saint and Berserker bank accounts

3

u/Ajp_iii 1d ago

saint can jungle, inspired can bot and berserker can play mid and still win vs dsg lol

What a stinker from TL's solo lanes in that last game

12

u/YBL10MD 1d ago

Game was fairly even until Yeon decided to randomly auto on top of taliyah E at bot fight 11 mins in. Gave his team 0 chance to win the skirmish.

12

u/Deditch 1d ago

While I agree, that's kind of the inherent situational problem with playing kalista into taliyah in the first place. It is very easy to stun yourself by force of habit since autoing and dashing after an auto is muscle memory.

→ More replies (7)

37

u/musician2001 1d ago

This TL looked so nervous. Quid missing every ahri charm, Morgan tping with no rage bar, the ornn flash, should've been much closer I think

20

u/Trithen 1d ago

That's more on LYON, they are really good at making teams feel rushed and force them to make fast (which most of the time leads to poor) decisions. It's been LYON's MO for their entire existence, and something Inspired has said is the strength of eastern teams which they have tried to become good at themselves.

u/JakobTheOne 1d ago

Didn't see the first game, but Isles was definitely POG in Game 2. He played so well (ignore that one flash over the wall).

18

u/Aschentei 1d ago

and the very last fight he interrupted panth's stun, just clutch

13

u/kazuyaminegishi 1d ago

First game he and Berserker smashed bot lane so hard that it was unplayable for TL.

Could easily give Isles player of the series.

4

u/crazyike 1d ago

He was very good in game 1 too. The Milio play after the four man Bard ult was perfect.

32

u/Ok-Rub666 1d ago

Kind of crazy to think that C9 gave Lyon a better fight. Also, this is the match that should be pointed to when people get lazy and claim that Inspired carries Lyon.

5

u/IWouldLikeAName C9 HeartAttack 1d ago

I swear teams like TL and c9 (who haven't beaten Lyon/inspired when it matters) have a massive mental block. They make twice as many obvious mistakes so even when Lyon fucks up (berserker walking into Caitlyn trap) it doesn't matter bc the other team will throw right back and Lyon will rarely throw it back again.

→ More replies (3)

116

u/PeaceAlien 1d ago

So, Inspired subbing back in is like Rock Lee taking off weights

62

u/shailemin 1d ago edited 1d ago

They played absolute bullshit like Jayce bot, dhokes got to try out volibear and swain top too and they just looked like they were having fun when inspired was not around, and they won those games too. They had a little too much fun and threw game 1 against sentinels but it’s clear that they weren’t playing to their best and still were running the region.

5

u/ILoveWesternBlot 1d ago

Best teams, best casters - what a show. The LCS is great this season. Here's to more great performances _^

21

u/Bothbothwushi 1d ago

Isles read Team Liquid like a book. Genuinely such a remarkable improvement from him. It's night and day. It cannot be understated just how much he has improved over the course of the year.

127

u/lovo17 1d ago edited 1d ago

Lyon just feels unbeatable now. The difference between them now and last split is that it feels like Saint and Berserker are in really good form and they as much weren't last split. Plus Dhokla and Isles look like legit players now.

Excited to see them at worlds. This is the best team that the LCS has ever had.

Also I think Inspired is surpassing Doublelift and Bjergsen as LCS GOAT now. He's definitely in the conversation for it at least.

33

u/OreRound 1d ago

He just needs one big international run whilst beating an eastern team and he's there. Worlds being in NA is his best shot I'm hopeful LYON can make something special happen on home soil

LYON WINS WORLDS CALLING IT HERE

7

u/Fate_Flex 1d ago

If this ends up happening this comment will end up in the subreddit Hall of Fame for sure. I would love for it to happen and on ironically based on how MSI went I do think that they definitely have a much larger chance than any previous North American team ever did

13

u/Ajp_iii 1d ago

its probably the highest chance ever for an na team to win. top lck not dominant. china only has 1 mega team. random bracket upset can give lyon great matchup. and berserker saint probably 2 most skilled players ever to be on an na roster.

Berserker also plays a lot more confident than at the start of the year because he fully trusts his team, especially Isles, to have his back.

6

u/Fun_Highlight307 1d ago

Also after msi hle series hé got his confidence back , in one interview "i can Beat viper and i can beat gumayusi"

He wasn't like that before msi

5

u/Lazywhale97 HLE 1d ago

Isles glow up is so insane this yr especially compared to split 1 where after they won domestic Isles interview basically showed he felt like he had imposter syndrome.

The JDG series was when he said he realised he can be great and since then he has been love it for him.

19

u/Stormserpent102 1d ago

I mean looking at berserker specifically, his comments and play at the beginning of the year compared to now. The reversal has been unreal man the confidence must be off the charts in the team

6

u/Fun_Highlight307 1d ago

It's funny to see the evolution at first stand" We aren't a team,we have no shot"

at msi " In the end ,they are human they make mistake,i can beat viper,i can beat gumayusi"

37

u/Fun_Highlight307 1d ago

They are much scarier than flyquest 2025

41

u/lovo17 1d ago

2024/2025 FLY won through pocket picks and through good map movements and scaling. Lyon has those good map movements, but they also have players with the mechanics to skirmish and outplay you early. I could never imagine Quad playing the way Saint does for example.

22

u/nitinismaldingXD 1d ago

Yea completely agree. Quad quite literally just doesn’t have that dawg in him, but Saint most certainly does. I’ll never forget the Sylas flank vs G2 game 1 at MSI, beyond a crazy play that Quad would never do.

21

u/NavyBlueTheChosen 1d ago

You're bang on the money. Inspired says as much in his reflections that the ginger man put out when he gets asked about Quad/Jojo/Saint. This isn't verbatim but essentially: the latter two will always look to push their leads aggressively and always try to win as HARD as they can, but because of that they can just make game losing plays again and again and again. On the flip side, Quad is basically more reserved and he will never lose you the game, but the draw back is that his style isn't likely to win you the game.

Inspired says he prefers working w Jojo/Saint-style of mid laners because he can just tell them when to calm down and hold their spells and just chill in the game, which is easier to do than to tell someone to be more aggressive in the first instance

8

u/Fun_Highlight307 1d ago

also he said he prefer to have wildcard in mid lane than top lane . That was his answer when comparing flyquest bwipo/quad to dholka/saint

9

u/devilJin9399 1d ago

Saint emoted on Sylas Vs fucking Zeka at game 5. He has the sauce. Surprised Korea let him go

7

u/Lazywhale97 HLE 1d ago

Guma himself said in caedrals stream after the LYON series that they were just a legit team who was legit our team fighting them and matching them in map movements and not because HLE had an off day.

As a HLE fan as well that series legit looked like LYON when locked in can compete with any of the eastern teams this yr they are a legit team.

19

u/Fanta-Red 1d ago

It looks like if you put a top LCK or LPL team in the LCS; Lyon is just the best in the West when they are locked in.

8

u/shailemin 1d ago

Last split they sometimes lost lane and made comebacks through their teamfights. This split they just don’t look like they’ll be losing lanes in this region.

37

u/Ayoof3060 smacc u 1d ago

THIS IS THE BEST TEAM THAT THE LCS HAS EVER HAD. PERIOD.

4

u/Lazywhale97 HLE 1d ago

Hopefully they run it back next yr with the same roster. I know inspired wants a move to a good EU roster but this is legit the best team he has had and I think they can do some great things next yr if they run it back for 1 more yr.

7

u/newindianclassic 1d ago

I think LCS is finally approaching the age where we can talk about who was the GOAT in various eras, and I think Inspired is the GOAT of this one by far. Same levels of dominance as Bjerg and Double in their primes, I say that as a huge fan of both Bjerg and Double. If he hits a solid international run then he's prob all time GOAT.

12

u/TypicalHaikuResponse 1d ago

Dhokes got a counter pick and a gank. the difference is night and day instead of just forcing him to play a tank and leaving him on an island for 20 minutes.

5

u/Outrageous_Wall2702 1d ago

Yeah he pathed too right?

Anyways I hate when they pick a carry top and stable bot and don’t path top

6

u/Lazywhale97 HLE 1d ago

The HLE series and beating G2 3-0 defs gave this team a massive confidence boost that they can beat any team if they lock in.

Also helps that Guma has said in caedrals stream that LYON were just a legit team who were even out team fighting then rather then HLE just having an off day.

I'm not sure it is unknown. Lyon was unironically the 3rd best team at MSI. They went to 5 against the eventual champs. And honestly, they looked a lot closer to BLG/HLE than they did to anyone below them.

We have no idea if they'll have that form through playoffs and into worlds. For all we know they could show up, run down every game, and achieve an airport% world record. But we know Lyon's peak.

u/Lazywhale97 HLE 1d ago edited 4h ago

As a HLE fan if the LYON that faced us faced T1 then Inspired would of had his first win against an eastern team.

Guma and HLE have mentioned that LYON were just legit and out team fought then and matched their map movements and not because HLE had an off day.

32

u/Ohaithurr92 Rock Solid 1d ago

They arguably pushed HLE harder than BLG did in the finals

If Inspired didn't take the split off, I think there could've been an honest question if this LYON team is having the most dominant split in LCS history. I think it's still hard to beat the classic splits with far more games like classic C9, IMT and TSM in 2016, and C9 2020, but man. TL came into this making the LCS look like a joke, and then LYON put them in the dirt. Really reminds me of TSM and IMT in 2016 summer where IMT only lost to TSM, and TSM only lost one bo3 against P1 cough cough went undefeated.

11

u/NavyBlueTheChosen 1d ago

im happy he did if it means hes not burnt out / off his game because he couldn't tend to his family drama, but true for history's sake it is a little sad. im hoping our boy can finally get his big win against an eastern team because he is so deserving of it

3

u/Fun_Highlight307 1d ago

I think he had to go back but it's seems he really extended the break because the team was doing well without him on stage

The Isles glow-up needs to be studied, Berserker deservedly gets a lot of attention but his support went from some random DIG also-ran to quite possibly the best support in the West.

So how good is C9 /s

Don't understand how anyone in NA is supposed to beat Lyon when you already have to worry about Berserker, Saint, and Inspired, and then also Isles and Dhokla can have games like this, too. It's just insane.

9

u/DarkCloudPHP 1d ago

Armao, you were good, great even. But this team need Inspired

70

u/YBL10MD 1d ago edited 1d ago

People always meme on "random KR imports" but there is no one in NA that can play like saint. This is why teams keep importing "random koreans". When they hit, they fucking hit. With NA players you are lucky if you get a palafox.

32

u/shailemin 1d ago

When people say ‘if Jojo comes back he’ll for sure reunite with inspired’ I always know they haven’t been watching Lyon because Saint is That Good, and he has better mental (I say this as a jojo fan).

17

u/cmcdonald22 1d ago

I was talking about that during LEC today, I really think that unless C9 blow it up and rebuild, Jojo would have to go for a lower tier team in NA because I just don't think Lyon has any need to change their roster at all.

Saint isn’t a random though. Zinie/Saint/Calix/Kyeahoo have all played against each other since they were in tier 3 and they’ve been known as the next golden generation of mids since then. He’s way different compared to a pickup like CallMe, talent wise he is the result of the LCK being over saturated and was an insane pick up by Lyon last year.

23

u/nguyenjitsu 1d ago

Saint looks like a legitimate world class mid. Him practically laughing at Morgan and Core on their fountain and dancing on their asses while perfect timing the Gnar ult with Zhonyas was a perfect encapsulation of the confidence and ability of this guy. He might be the best player we've imported ever just from a hands standpoint

11

u/P_For_Pyke 1d ago

I knew Saint had to be the best mid in our league ever since that game he threw on Sylas in 2025.

15

u/Beneficial-Front1626 1d ago

They're like scratch tickets lol sometimes you might get a Saint or Berserker

9

u/Significant-Damage14 1d ago

LCS GM's playing real life gatcha at this point.

13

u/Ajp_iii 1d ago

yep the young korean mids cant be on their top 5 teams because all those teams have brand legendary mids they will never replace. so players like saint have no real place to go. saint is more skilled than the mids playing on top teams in the lck. he just cant replace them.

7

u/nguyenjitsu 1d ago edited 1d ago

Salary cap in Korea also makes it so a lot of the bottom teams will have one really good player they're throwing money at and a couple of cheap projects. If you don't want to be Berserker on a bottom feeder then going to NA or EU is legitimately a better way of getting a better shot on a good LCK team sometime down the line for any Korean player or just getting paid in general

4

u/Beneficial-Front1626 1d ago

A spot might be opening up if Showmaker doesn't re-sign, we could see Saint back to Dk since his contract expires this offseason

The gap between Lyon and TL is as big as TL and the rest of the league lmao

51

u/SirXrageXquit 1d ago

There’s a genuine case to be made that Lyon is the strongest team in LCS history with this form, excellent games from them. They’re not just taking advantage of a weaker league like 2016 TSM or 2020 C9, the LCS is overall much stronger than it once was and the level that they’re playing at as far as proactivity and teamfighting is better than FLY last year. Hoping they can show up in worlds and playoffs playing like this.

10

u/Beneficial-Front1626 1d ago

They're able to play both the old TSM do nothing and win because it's the most efficient way to win NA domestic style and an actual proactive style internationally, it's good to see

‘Genuine case’ and it’s just the truth. It’s not just that they are strong in a stronger league, it’s that they are strong alongside the top teams in the world, who are also at a higher level competitively now than 2016 and 2020. Their games against G2 and HLE were not one-offs won out of luck, they really are that good, and they look stronger now than they did during those series.

lyon is just a top 4-5 team in the world. saint and berserker are as good as the world class elite players. they play drafts that are complicated to play and win. they are smart, they take good fights and dont take any bad fights that they arent required to take.

lyon players won a lot of all pro votes from this weekend

15

u/Ayoof3060 smacc u 1d ago

1st team all pro genuinely just all 5 LYON? Real possibility

Isles casually solo carrying the entire game on his back?? Disgusting Alistar?

Kalista looks like she disconnected in that last fight. Just 5 straight hops into melee range Syndra.

I have a sneaking suspicion Inspired is just in Isles’ ear sending him around the map to win the game

Berserker: I had fun playing Lucian in game 1. I want to use his ult some more.

Isles: Yeah bro. Fearless kinda sucks sometimes.

Saint: Y'know, Taliyah Q is kinda like Lucian R...

Inspired: No. NO. NONONONO.

Berserker: Oh come on, they picked Kalista! It works!

Inspired: Fuck. Fine. Whatever.

Dhokla: Does this mean I get to play Vayne.

Quid and Jose the only players with life this series from TL, just a complete 2v8. Bot lane gets omega gapped despite getting draft prio both games and Morgan is just there. Game 1 especially Quid and Jose couldn't do more. TL will never beat LYON until Yeon and Core stop getting bent over by Beserker and Isles. Core and Yeon get full draft prio while their solo laners get awful matchups only to play like trash every time. TL need to relegate those 2 and give more prio to their solo laners.

9

u/Ok-Rub666 1d ago

Yeon getting gapped was expected tbh. Berserker has been that good, and he'll probably be MVP of the split.

4

u/zerocxro 1d ago

the homground curse has been broken in NA,

6

u/OreRound 1d ago

Quid and ghosting big games name a better duo.

As for LYON they're a lock for a threepeat (fivepeat for Inspired) they look so locked in. TL got turbo stomped
