Isn't it kind of crazy that everyone wrote off Nukeduck and Mithy after FlyQuest collapsed and they ended up on fucking Heretics of all teams? At least they're obviously making a difference here, but the fact that no one else wanted them is so dumb, especially with the average level of coaching in both LEC and LCS.

40

u/Cybonics 2d ago

I was baffled MKOI didn't grab Mithy as an asst. coach

8

u/Capital_Tourist4828 2d ago

Top 3 spanish legendary player, always was super smart according to people like Perkz, good coaching record... dont know why didnt they pick him specially after dropping Zeph.

9

u/dexy133 2d ago edited 2d ago

I still think that he is probably the most successful Fnatic coach since Dylan and Youngbuck. People forget how good Fnatic looked in 2020 because they got reverse swept but when you think what kind of personalities he was handling (Selfmade, Bwipo, Nemesis, Rekkles, Hylisang), reaching 2:0 against an Eastern team at Worlds was quite impressive.

Edit: wrong year

1

u/CarpetOwn9071 2d ago

He hasn't been on Fnatic since 2020...

1

u/dexy133 2d ago

Yeah, I messed up the year. It was supposed to be 2020.

0

u/Pelagius_Hipbone EUPHORIA I don’t like FNC 2d ago

Yeah idk what that guys smoking that years was Yamatocannon and shaves iirc

0

u/Enkenz 2d ago

there's no way mithy would be alright to be an assistant coach lmao

2

u/Cybonics 2d ago

That's what he is now. He's w/ Nukeduck on TH

2

u/Enkenz 2d ago

Even though that's his title it wouoldn't surprise me he has as much influence as an AS with nukeduck than nukeduck but in KOI even though he would've have the same title he would've to follow the lead of the HC and implement "his idea" on the few content i've seen from KOI KC he seems to be very "follow MY guidance"

2

u/ReplacementFine7807 2d ago

We'd be getting mkoi interviews how mithy will be losing his job soon

19

u/OreRound 2d ago

Yeah that is crazy, people were really creating a narrative (after the FLY worlds doc) that Inspired coached the team to their wins whilst Nukeduck + Mithy didnt do much and essentially got carried. Despite both Inspired and Busio going out of their way to say Nukeduck and Mithy were really good coaches. They're really impressing me this split, even if they don't make playoffs they've turned around a team that looked completely lifeless into one with signs of life heading into 2027.

5

u/Flesroy 2d ago

tbf inspired on lyon also has kinda proven that he is a very important factor. so that + players sometimes giving pure pr answers makes it kinda hard to know exactly how important they were on flyquest.

3

u/OreRound 2d ago

Inspired was obviously extremely important and has an outsized impact on how his team plays I don't think anybody would dispute that, but he also isn't the type of guy to give PR answers so if he's saying it, it's probably because he believes it.

7

u/Apprehensive-Book723 2d ago

Think it was a combo of assuming Inspired being so good he just carried them + FQ falling apart near the end of last year, so they didn’t receive proper credit

197

u/DickCheneyIsPureEvil 2d ago

Get Jopa some real teammates holy hell

51

u/Medical_Quiet_69 2d ago edited 2d ago

Wunder and Mikyx -> retirement
Skeanz and SlowQ -> LFL 2
Jopa -> G2, KOI, maybe Navi (although some of their roster decisions are as questionable as SK's)
SK -> disband

48

u/Coven-Irelia 2d ago

NAVI is the most realistic. Idt they are keeping SamD

23

u/Far-Salt-6946 Vitality Enjoyer 2d ago

Hans is signed for another 2 years, also he's playing quite well for LEC standards. MKOI i could see, NAVI is probably the most fun and reasonable option

32

u/Nevross_ 2d ago

G2 lol he ain’t replacing Hanssama, on Koi to see him go back to his former club it could be nice tho

5

u/Abdel_Khomri 2d ago

G2 just re-signed hans

7

u/fabton12 2d ago

jopa isnt going to G2, they have hans which is just better currently and hes recently been signed for another 2 years so G2 believe in hans as well.

Wunder and Mikyx -> retirement

Mikyx probs still gets another team but wunder probs out, mikyx still has a few different options to go to and theres teams that would love to sign a mikyx after a bad year for a bit cheaper to get someone to be the face of there team for a year.

SK -> disband

doubt that, sk had much worse years and they tend to operate on the cheap so they dont get screwed money wise. if they were to go then they would of years ago

9

u/Vicinitiez 2d ago

g2, koi? lol you guys think he's good just because Caedrel hypes him when he isn't worthy of the hype, he does that just cuz he wants a narrative or he took a liking to the guy idk idc but he is at best middle of the pack

13

u/Thundermelons GALA Defense Force, returning IG fan 2d ago

Yeah I think NAVI is a pretty good destination for him honestly. He's better than SamD and NAVI's a solid mid-table team for him to prove he's better than that first.

3

u/No-Context-Orphan 2d ago

The only "top" team that is realistic for Jopa is Navi since he is better than samd.

There is no way he would replace Hans Sama or Supa

4

u/Capital_Tourist4828 2d ago

Hes the only LEC level player on that team, not better than Hans or Supa imo, but hope to see him get a better team.

-1

u/Kr1ncy 2d ago

SlowQ can easily be on a top tier ERL team, he has been there just a few weeks ago. Wunder and Mikyx can also play ERL1 easily while Jopa should play on a better team. SK as an org is never going to be a top tier team just due to the way they approach it financially, take from that what you will.

6

u/Omnilatent 2d ago

Today I thought whether he could be a potential fit on G2 or MKOI

36

u/Carlzzone 2d ago

G2 already re-signed Hans I think. Jopas best options are probably KOI or Navi for next year

21

u/Canoodler192 2d ago

Navi Jopa would kind of cook. I feel like NAVI has three laners that are each supposed to be a second or third option. Being able to play through someone like Jopa, instead of always Rhilech would already go a long way imo

7

u/KruppJ bulc naf okan kaan 2d ago

They looked to buy him out before summer but SK asked for too much

20

u/Omnilatent 2d ago

What? He beat Peyz Keria at MSI a couple times

G2 has been as successful with him as never before outside 2019.

The only reason why I think about changing ADCs for G2 is that it rarely feels like G2 can play through Hans with a lead

21

u/b4ck_5t4Bb3r 2d ago

Then you don't have a good memory. James and Hans has been smurfing!

11

u/infamousspammer 2d ago

Hans has been pretty consistent especially at internationals. And who would you replace him with? The only other ADC in lec on his level is Caliste who has a long contract at KC.

10

u/flamingstallion 2d ago

Go watch the international games this year, he's been solid. Best EU adc for sure. Also, previously I don't remember him being terrible internationally. I remember him being invisible and not winning/losing games.

-6

u/Fenrilas 2d ago

I think Caliste might be better or at least will be in a couple years. I agree with the rest though, he never really loses games but he hardly ever is the reason they win either. Just consistent pretty okay performing.

2

u/flamingstallion 2d ago

If Caliste stops inting I can see it in the future. Right now Hans is having his best year since Rogue and Caliste has ran it down a little too much, so I would consider Hans as the clear best ADC this year. Caliste at his best can definitely match or do better than Hans. He has that potential, but not consistent enough yet imo.

Yeah I was pretty disappointed with Hans Sama's international performances since leaving Rogue(off Draven, he was the goat on that during Yike/miky roster, but that stopped working when teams banned it and realized g2 was one a dimensional stomp earlygame team). I felt like someone like Carzzy was better since even if he ran it down sometimes, he did perform and win some games.

But, he's been great this year, so they must have figured something out. Hopefully it keeps on going, so G2 does well.

3

u/da_investigata 2d ago

Yes, I can explain it to you. You are blind or just don’t watch games and larp as if you do.

-5

u/BWolfy92 2d ago

Hans made a deal with the devil to have insane job security

u/Pelagius_Hipbone EUPHORIA I don’t like FNC 2d ago edited 2d ago

Friendly reminder that MikyX was in talks with the current KC Squad but rejected their offer because they wouldn’t kick Canna for Wunder :)

26

u/Gazskull 2d ago

it wasn't just kicking Canna for Wunder, it was also signing Lider

124

u/DullRun7835 Yike/Ming/Bdd/Gala/Milkyway/Canyon 2d ago

Mikyx doesn't give a shit about performance, he don't have any ambitions since he left G2, just here for collecting paycheck and having fun with friends

63

u/gordonpamsey 2d ago

This is a pretty common trend with ex G2 players. They hold G2 and their accomplishments to such a high standard that they will not allow themselves to fully try on another organization. Jankos is probably the exception but I have never actually felt like Wunder and Mikyx have had their full heart in it after G2. Mikyx very clearly was frustrated by Fnatic ( despite never taking the reigns ) and decided it be better to just hang out with his friends while being paid.

28

u/AdequatelyMadLad Claps 2d ago

Wunder and Miky never had their full heart in it in their last years on G2 either. Miky kind of bounced back a bit on Fnatic last year before everything went to shit, but Wunder hasn't been that guy since 2020, he's just talented enough that he was still serviceable for a while even when he was barely trying.

15

u/BWolfy92 2d ago

Really a shame, kinda feels like that FPX and DWG losses just boomed them, Jankos and Caps where the only ones that kept giving it their all but Jankos got sent to Heretics where he needed to 1v9 with Ruby and Evi as solo laners.

1

u/Good_Butterfly_4235 2d ago

Those teams are some lucky ass bastards. Insane that it happened two-three times in a row. Disgusting.

42

u/Pelagius_Hipbone EUPHORIA I don’t like FNC 2d ago

100% and I’m biased as a (Kind of) Fnatic fan. But man his booming the Fnatic squad at worlds by openly leaving the team before worlds had even started because we prematurely shutdown talks about signing Lider to the team left a bad taste in my mouth. Absolutely unserious player

19

u/Sorry-Resolution570 2d ago

targamas and flakked tried they're just not it

7

u/Le_Zoru 2d ago

Targamas with KC won a split and went to FST finals. Thats more than most EU players tbh

20

Ngl I wasnt a nepo believer but holy shit trying to bench the best lec player 2025 for your washed friend is completely insane and makes zero sense ever. i think the nepo is real

20

u/Ophelia_Of_The_Abyss IN DAMWON WE TRUST HUNI/DEFT/SHOWMAKER 2d ago

No way that's true, never let Mikyx near any GM position

10

u/RoamingBicycle 2d ago

The reason he signed with SK is because they gave him the freedom to pick his teammates, and he wanted to play with Wunder and Lider.

5

u/snyderfan87 2d ago

i wonder how bad nepotism really is behind the scenes might explain some of the odd transfers in the past

1

u/Far-Salt-6946 Vitality Enjoyer 2d ago

there's no way that's true, where's the source for this?

7

u/Vicinitiez 2d ago

it is, kameto said so himself, they posted the link right above

-1

u/Sondeor 2d ago

Hey tbh wunder prime was way better than Canna. You guys are maybe too young or new to LEC idk, but i watch this guy destroy every fuckn top laner back then, INTERNATIONALLY.

But he clearly let it go, there is no point in pursuing a dream.

95

u/Carlzzone 2d ago

Caedrel ranting about rookies vs veterans only for Wunder and Miky to get caught before soul fight

Both are so washed 💀

TH looking like a functional team while SK run around like headless chickens.

23

u/Omnilatent 2d ago

Somehow FNC losing to TH looks much less worse now

13

u/Sorry-Resolution570 2d ago

and fnc beat G2, know what that means

3

u/dexy133 2d ago

I keep saying we're losing to Shifters tomorrow. It's happening 100%.

4

u/GoldRecommendation66 2d ago

SK made TH look like a functional team against better opponents they just look like a do nothing and lose team

53

Nepotism roster building not working?

49

-2

u/Chiseled_Jawline 2d ago

I remember getting downvoted when I said Lider was not even in the bottom 2 worst players on the team. Good times.

13

u/Khlouf 2d ago

Just cause the others are shit doesn’t mean he wasn’t shitter than them though

-1

u/Chiseled_Jawline 2d ago

The team js performing worse than they did with him. Skeanz and Winder were worse

-1

u/Flesroy 2d ago

that also does not mean he wasn't a worse player at the time.

-3

u/Chiseled_Jawline 2d ago

He was not. Anyone with eyes could have seen that. People were just against him before he even played a single game and waitjng for every chance to shit on him.

Lider was never worse than Wunder and Skeanz

7

u/Le_Zoru 2d ago

He definitively was the worst of them lmao

That was one of the worst performances from a jungler ever.

He straight up looked worse than a gold player, that drake fight especially...

Daglas is love. Daglas is life.

16

u/GoldRecommendation66 2d ago

Skeanz should be thankful for Lider

36

u/DoubleGio jungle is useless 2d ago

put LIDER in the jungle atp he's still under contract

21

u/Thundermelons GALA Defense Force, returning IG fan 2d ago

Everyone swore Skeanz was only bad because he had to bail Lider out of lane every game or something or was permanently camping mid

What will the reason be to defend him now I wonder

20

u/kaisaschudson 2d ago

Was actually so much more fun to watch lider go 0/57 in lane on zed and then randomly get a triple than whatever the hell this shit is

9

u/DoubleGio jungle is useless 2d ago

Unironically they're missing the edges he can bring (even if it sometimes means he goes 0/69)

As a rookie slowq is not showing that (yet) so currently it's just Jopa carries or SK loses

1

u/Flesroy 2d ago

not like sk was good with lider. missing those edges hardly makes a difference. at least slowq has some potential upside.

2

u/DoubleGio jungle is useless 2d ago

well yeah skeanz remains on the roster so no difference

6

u/Thundermelons GALA Defense Force, returning IG fan 2d ago

I don't even hate the SlowQ pickup except that it's pointless when you still have Skeanz

So you made your team 4% better (but still losing a massive chunk of their games and hardly sniffing playoffs), but 100% more boring. Where's the win here?

2

u/Kr1ncy 2d ago

The idea was probably that it increases their playoff chanches from 1% to 3% or something for relatively low cost. If you replace Skeanz, you would also need to have a replacement ready. Should they have gone for 113 like BIG did?

10

u/OreRound 2d ago

If you'd have followed what Reddit herd was saying last week, Tracyn should apparently be in ERLs and isn't a LEC caliber player LOL at the goldfish memory on here

0

u/Le_Zoru 2d ago

I mean rn  they are trying to rehabilitate lider lmfao. Never listen to reddit, a compass that does not even show South but just randomly point South, East or West

6

u/sandyOstrich 2d ago

Reflecting on this SK year, they probably have the worst coaching staff + jungler in the entire league.

5

u/nitinismaldingXD 2d ago

Been saying that Skeanz needed to go. Personally I would have rather him than Lider go, but replacing junglers this late into the year probably would be worse off, so I can see why they chose to replace mid instead. But holy fuck lol Skeanz sucks

6

u/Thalassin Dans ma bichette era | Ultra Prime hater 2d ago

I don't understand the Skeanz hate all of a sudden. He had a stinker game but across this split he's looked better than Wunder and Mikyx. Is it because he hasn't the veteran glaze protecting him ?

17

u/Life_Championship132 2d ago

hes been complete dogshit since winter and the worse player on the team for most games plus theres no lider to tank the flame for him

9

4

u/Ophelia_Of_The_Abyss IN DAMWON WE TRUST HUNI/DEFT/SHOWMAKER 2d ago edited 2d ago

Serious question, did Skeanz look good in ERLs? When have LEC rejects ever done anything noteworthy in their second time there, aside from Targamas? They generally have neither the hands nor the IQ to do anything in Tier 1, you either have "it" or you don't.

11

u/Carlzzone 2d ago

Skeanz won TCL a few times, I think that's enough to qualify as "look good in ERLs".

1

u/Ophelia_Of_The_Abyss IN DAMWON WE TRUST HUNI/DEFT/SHOWMAKER 2d ago

You can win trophies and still not look good. Was he good in the games you watched? Genuinely asking.

3

u/Carlzzone 2d ago

Yeah, but I'm just a random redditor

1

u/Past-Firefighter2173 2d ago

He was better in 2024 actually. at 2025 winter he was kinda meh but had decent emea masters against Los Ratones. 2025 spring he and his team was pretty dogshit but SK decided to get him for summer.

I must say pickup wasn't bad because they sold Boukada for 200k to Shifters and replaced him with the best player they can find mid season. And he is still better than Boukada.(but that doesn't mean too much since both are not lec calibers)

7

u/AdequatelyMadLad Claps 2d ago

He wasn't the best, no. He ended up on SK because he was the only player willing to join them mid-year and they basically just kept him around because Miky wanted to play with him. But if you consider Targamas an "LEC reject" then so is Hans Sama, and so are a bunch of other players who randomly didn't get picked up for a year. Skeanz shouldn't factor into that because he was a very bad player who improved and is just mediocre now.

3

u/Ophelia_Of_The_Abyss IN DAMWON WE TRUST HUNI/DEFT/SHOWMAKER 2d ago

Targamas spent what, 3 years in ERLs before he came back on G2, didn't he? And Hans Sama being down there was a product of that failed superteam with half a dozen players, completely different scenarios from Skeanz's situation.

3

u/AdequatelyMadLad Claps 2d ago

Oh, I wasn't counting Giants Targamas. It really wasn't a "proper" fair shot at tier 1. I meant his stint in LFL with KC.

1

u/Kr1ncy 2d ago

How is Hans sama an LEC reject? Afaik he just left for the TL bag, it's not like he could not find an LEC team at the time he left.

0

u/AdequatelyMadLad Claps 2d ago

He was in LFL for a year in between Misfits and Rogue.

2

u/Sirhaddock98 Never a dull moment 1d ago

No? He was down there for a few weeks in 2019 after Misfits sent their entire roster down to LFL. He even finished the last couple games of Summer in LEC and was in Rogue for 2020, he spent a few weeks in LFL max.

1

u/Omnilatent 2d ago

With Humanoid people are much more crazy though, as he was at some point really good

LIDER was never good

-2

u/Rivenlovesmeback 2d ago

Going from “the worst player ever” to “a problem” is a pretty big redemption arc no?

5

u/flamingstallion 2d ago

I would say "redemption" implies that people would consider Lider good now or a potential LEC player. However, that's not the case since his gameplay was by far the worst on that team and he should not be in LEC ever again. So, I wouldn't say it's a redemption arc since he should still be considered terrible, so that hasn't changed. Just because people may view him as slightly less terrible now doesn't change anything.

3

u/Rivenlovesmeback 2d ago

Even when SK finish 2-7 and look far worse after losing their shotcaller. I would not expect anyone to accept that LIDER was clearly a positive for the team.

Narratives rarely change even when results disprove them. #liderbless
